Custom ROM or Stock, please input. - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

hi , im the owner of HTC evo 4G LTE for about 4 months already
i'm still running stock and never installed any updates.
my phone info is
Hardware version : 0003
Sorftware version : 1.13.651.1 710RD
Android Ver : 4.0.3
i used to want to install the mean ROM but due to my busy schedule i didn't have the time yet
and after that they released the official jelly bean update and also the mean Bean and severals other custom ROM based on the jelly bean.
now i have the time to play with my phone and i really want to make my experience with android , especially with this EVOLTE better.
please advice me , is it better for me to update to the stock jelly bean ?
or install other Custom ROM that are based on jelly bean?
or stay in this stock ICS ?
i just want a stable phone with good speed and battery life to be use everyday with minimal hiccups.
because i heard bad things about the Jelly bean update that are causing some of the people here some trouble.
please advice as i'm really newbie in Android.
thank you so much.

Unlock your bootloader.. Get root.. Then u deff want to get s-off.. Then i would flash meanbean best rom for this phone:good: There are many guides on here in the dev section..

I would recommend that you go with one of the custom ROMs. The developers generally fix issues that are in the stock ROMs. Before you jump in, I would also recommend that you do a lot of reading. Are you rooted and unlocked? If not, here is a good place to start:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026938
Your experience in customizing your phone will go a lot smoother if you achieve S-OFF. There are currently two methods that can be used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163013
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1964309
Once you are S-Off, you'll want to adjust your firmware:
http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...wel-Firmware-Collection-Latest-3-16-651-3-OTA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1704612
Once your firmware is up to date, you can flash a new ROM. I am a big fan of Viper4G, Operation Jelly Bean and JB Tranquility.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2124391
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142977

http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?15582-ROM-JB-Tranquility-RLS3-Trans-and-Inverted-2-16-13
While I like Jelly Bean, if you want to stay with Ice Cream Sandwich, Bad Seeds and Team Anonymous have fun ICS ROMs (along with Team Venom).
Once again, I would highly encourage you to do a lot of reading. While it is not that difficult to customize your phone, your experience will be much better if you take the time to learn about what it is you are actually doing to your phone, what could go wrong, and how to fix issues that may arise. Good luck!

yeah, you'll definitely wanna get S-off. It's the easiest way to update radios and such without having to RUU. You said you now have extra time , so just read up as much as you can about the process. There's a thread in the original Dev section. I don't use htc./sense ROMs, but from what I've read, battery life is worse than ICS (on sense ROMs), and a lot of people don't like some of the changes made to sense in the JB update (I tried it for a minute and immediately hated the new battery use reporting, there's less info). After unlocking bootloader, and hopefully S-offing, I would suggest trying out PACman ROM by jamieG71 . It's a very solid AOSP (not HTC) ROM with tons of customization possible. And great battery life, especially when paired with ThickLizards komodo kernel.
Good luck, have fun
From my Evo LTE, yup.

okay
thx for the responses.
im totally stock, no root, no unlocked.
purelly stock, never did any upgrade since i bought this.
so i need to root first ? unlocked the bootloader ? or S-Off first ?
thank you.
so osrry for many silly question.

thank you very much, and if you have made a tutorial or if you know about a good tutorial and if you can share me the tutorial i will be very thankful, i know that there is a lot of tutorials everywhere, but i prefer to follow a tutorial that you know that is good.
Thank you very very much.
Wall of text crits you for 10k.
The tl;dr appears to be: tell meh teh best "room" plx thx!" which isn't allowed here.
i don´t understand what are you trying to say, i can´t ask about rooms here? another thing is that some people say that i should wait until the official jelly bean release, should i wait? because some people say that some roms are better than the official, what do you think, thank you..

No, you can't ask subjective questions like these here. It's a matter of taste and preferences. Try them yourself.
And for your other questions: search and read, don't be this lazy. And btw, it's 'roms', not 'room'.

Thank you very much, i will try to find more information about this by myself, but if you can share me your opinion about upgrade to jelly bean or ice cream sandwich or stay in gingerbread i will be very thankful, also if you can tell me what version do you have in your galaxy s2, gingerbread or what?

Hey Ma8,Some people over here r using 'Jelly Bean' roms and say its the Best. Smoothest etc, there are Some Using 'Ice Cream Sandwich' roms and say Its the best ,Stable and fully Functional for them, and there r Some who r using 'Gingerbread' roms nad according to them Its the very best android version so far without any issue's.
So to Summarize 'Its the Right Choice and Comfortness with the same is what matter's
u can always upgrade from GB>ICS>JB or downgrade from JB>ICS>GB.
So go ahead and do some flashing and see the 'Right Choice and Comfortness u see in the One for and stick to it
PS- Also have a look at this link below it will be of gr8 help to u

[Q] I bought a used Prime, it came with a custom ROM, don't know what to do

I've been looking into upgrading my Prime to Jelly Bean, which drove me to find out my SKU... wherein I realised the person who sold it to me had installed a custom ICS ROM on it. (ODJHD is the name of it)
I'm fairly handy with unlocking and jailbreaking other devices (PSP, iPhone), but I have no idea what to do now in terms of upgrading my Prime to JB. Would I be able to install any stock Jelly Bean ROMs downloaded from ASUS? Otherwise, I can install one of the custom ROMs available, but I've no idea which one is best and most stable, or how to even go about doing it.
I tried looking for threads with tutorials, checked the wiki, couldn't really figure anything out. Any help is hugely appreciated!

If your running ICS then you are on the old bootloader. Be care full cause if you flash something designed for a different bootloader then it could be fatal. First you might want to look into nvflash.
Nvflash needs to be the first thing you do to make your prime unbrickable. Then make sure you get the jellybean bootloader before flashing any jb roms. My favorite rom is the wookie roms, there based on Asus stock updates and offer customizations. Its the only one I use after trying others. Very stable and the developer knows what he's doing.

Once you are unlocked, never ever flash a stock ROM from ASUS's website. Doing so will most likely hard brick your device.

I suggest to stick with a 2.3.5 ROM or go with CM 7, which is 2.3.7. Gingerbread is the most stable and everything for the most part works. ICS and JB are not really worth it due to not having the Motorola Graphics Drivers for ICS or JB. Too many issues to make it really a daily driver unless you like bugs and lots of force close issues due to the driver issue. Maybe someday but I doubt it since we really have no developers left, the Motorola Atrix driver that was created from scratch, will get ported to the Photon. Then and only then will ICS or JB be worth the flash. The ROM in my signature, 2.3.5, is one of the best in my opinion and one of the most stable, everything works. I have given ICS and JB ROMs a try but keep going back to GB as they are more stable. Even CyanMobile is a good GB ROM, the most options of any rom for a 2.3.5 ROM. The only issue I had with it was the "Sleep Screen of Death" and it would never wake-up. I then had to wipe the cache and dalvik cache to get it to boot again. That would happen a few times a day but then again I am non a Motorola Electrify and it was build for a Photon. Good luck in your choice but don't expect much support as development is pretty much gone and it does not seem there are even many users left.
I plan to get a new phone in the near future and will be not hanging around this section much, sadly I believe I will get the Moto X and its new and there will be a lot of development going on for a new popular phone.

Sorry but the fact that you have the Android 2.3.5 version means that your bootloader is locked forever. You can only unlock your bootloader if you have Android 2.3.4. What Sprint did with the Android 2.3.5 update is lock your bootloader plus they added some small features for the camera. Of course in the release notes, Sprint won't highlight the fact that locking the bootloader was part of the Android 2.3.5 upgrade.
You just have to go find a phone that has Android 2.3.4 still installed and immediately unlock your bootloader.
an other Q is that any idea to enhance the camera pictures quality (i.e is too bad----)
Beanstalk 4.2.2 is almost completely stable as long as you freeze contact storage... And bluetooth is broken... But it's smooth

S3 4.0.4 stock rom

had installed android 4.3 on s3 but then I installed 4.0.4 after that I had no gsm connectivity see the block sign between battery and wifi. I have gsm connectivity on 4.3 but not on 4.0.4. A guy told me that it has something to do with the bootloader. I wish to install 4.0.4 stock ICS BTU rom if there's a way do tell me. Thanks in anticipation!
Ya i tried this as well because i was really considering downgrading to ICS. IMO it runs way better than jellybean. If anyone knows how to do this, please, enlighten us. For now, just reflash the 4.3 ROM to get your signal back. As i understand it, once you go to 4.3, you need to do a downgrade, you cant just flash the ROM, if anyone can explain the process, that would be great.
For the record, if you have a 16GB S3, i wouldn't recommend the downgrade, the 16GB was subject to a sudden death syndrome and the fix is not included in ICS. If you have 32GB+ then you safe.
I have a 16 GB version of s3 I think then I should go for cyanogen

Flash a modem that's MG4 above, this is asked hundreds of times a day, use the search.

Better still flash a decent 4.3 ROM. Is there a good reason why you want to go back all the way to 4.0.4? Did you skip 4.1.2 altogether? That was better than 4.0.4, but my brief experience of 4.3, after the initial problems with the disastrous MJ9 release were resolved, is that it's the best yet.

Custom Roms- Not the Greatest, Just the Latest

Folks,
I have been pleased with Viper XL (2.0) on my ATT HTC One X Plus for a long time. It seems to have been abandoned, so now I want to a new ROM with the latest Jelly Bean. Here's the advice I am asking. Please point me to any non-International custom ROM that you understand that the developer intends to continue to update. Like my subject line says, it doesn't have to be the greatest. I don't want to start a "whose the best argument," but I would like to install an active project that might continue to be debugged. I want a solid, stable build, as flashing ROMs is a big, scary deal to me. My preference is to keep TWRP for recovery.
Elegancia is on my list, but the impression I get is that it may not get another update. I understand that Jelly Bean 4.2 is the latest official update; I am using 4.1. Many thanks for any advice.
