I have a GSM Chinese, W5 THL and I want to know how the root.
I want to root mainly because I have a problem with internal SD card, I can not move my application to micro SD memory card 16 GB If you know how to move applications to the micro SD external I'm interested, if I want to although it tells me how to root my phone (THL W5).

If your phone is 4.0.4, it is very easy to root with Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18.
If your phone is 4.1.2, it is a little harder to root. You will have to flash it with SP_Flash_Tool.
All the ROMs, drivers, and programs you need to root are in the above thread. I recommend reading through the whole thread first.
Root THL W5
Everything works no problem until the end where I have a message "Permission denied" there's my phone it says that everything worked, reboot my phone, and I still do not have the SuperUser this means that my phone is not rooted. Where is the problem please?

If you are running a version of Android above 4.0.4, the above method you have tried won't work. You will have to flash a new ROM using SP_Flash_Tool.
I've uploaded all the files and a guide to NeedRom that you would need to root any version of the THL W5, but am awaiting for it to be approved.
I'll send you the link to the files once it is posted.

It is an qwerty android device, android version 2.3.6, base 6573 kernel 2.6.35.7
It is very similar to OT-918. I try to be root using SuperOneClickv2.3.3 and UnlockRoot but this methods dont work.

BTW, I've tried all the available rooting methods for gingerbread, including MTKdroidTools, and none of them work.

Hi! I was searching for the same and found this: w w w . fix-mobile.net/2013/02/como-rootear-alcatel-one-touch-916. html (remove the spaces, i'm a new user and can't post external links).
It's in spanish, but it's a quite simple procedure, you just need the files they linked and follow the video (install a custom recovery, copy SU.app to a SD, reboot into custom recovery ["#"+"Power"] and install zip from SD.) Hope this can help anybody.

That worked well!
Rooting was ok, everything works great, i have uninstalled/moved many applications.
I have installed some custom rom from serbian forum jaffta rom v3, but phone doesn't boot. Some logo image by developer is flashing, and nothing happens.
Tried to wipe format everything and restore my previous backup made before rooting, nothing happens.
If someone have original rom/backup from alcatel ot 916, please send me. Thanks.

Hav been surfing and trying possible rooting means for my clone iphone 4s with andriod os but to no avail. tried d Goophone y5 rooting script but still not rooted.... any xda developer with a working rooting script for the phone should please share.... thanks

Yes i thinks thats the phone memory not storage i may be wrong, but that is tiny if thats all it has. Has it got an sdcard slot? maybe but an sdcard which are cheap as chips.

tried installing some cool games and apps but it dont install completely.... wat should i do to install without this problem??
Try
Root Checker from playstore to check root. If all ok, Try to install an app that requires root, on installing it should ask for permission.
Grant permission it should install ok.
Can you give me the exact model make and number? usually under battery and i will search further.

I and a few other german people have problems after Rooting the Vodafone SmartTab 4.
At first I would explain what i have done.
1.) Rooting the device with Framaroot -> all working good
2.) Want to flash the official 4.4.2 Update -> Warning that my device is rooted, but it is still downloaded
3.) Installing the Update -> getting this Error at automatic and manuel: Look at the Attachment please
4.) Unroot the Tablet with Framaroot -> didn´t function... Updater says the Tab is rootet... same if I trying it with the Unrootoption in SuperSU
I have the Original Recoverie on the Device and only the rooted Vodafone (yes i rooted it again... the unroot function correct, tested it with the Root Checker App).
Does anyone know a Custom Recoverie and a CustomROM for this Device? Or have anyone a Idea how i can put the 4.4.2 Update on this Device?

Well, I would say sometimes some problems start to appear after rooting your device because of apps, look what previously going on over your device is its imposed by the limits of vendors and now all those apps are free to use in any manner the apps like. So, I would consider it as a demerit of rooting the device.

Maybe i could get the original ROM. If this works... it would be great. Damn branded Devices... I would never buy such of them in the future.

Well, yes you can get the original ROM try heading over to the sammobile/firmware section and putting your device appropriate information you can get the stock ROM available for your device. Then you can take the help of ODIN to flash that stock ROM over to your device.

OK the best way is to flash TWRP or CWM recovery then flash supersu 2.5 beta zip. just google and download it.
For the twrp, best version is from facebook group MY33 Official...you should join there also.
