Must. Not. Troll.
There isn't any available ROM with android 4.1/4.2 yet, and it'll probably take some time too.

I love how much time it takes to be preparing a 4.2 rom?

It's not simple AT ALL.
We need to learn a lot to be able to compile a 4.2 ROM, and it's not easy when threads like these keep popping up.

I want to troll too. What could be expected from 4.2 on a phone like D X? Is there any important feature implemented in 4.2 which would be important for a normal user?

Wont be much unless it comes with a radio fix, the one for ICS is awful. I liked the project butter features but I wonder how much it would affect battery life?

Same here, might sell mine and pick up a gnex. Just done with the lack of support from htc. Hell, I just got a new DROID 4 for work and have a close to vanilla ics stock rom on it, rooted and loving it.

Hehe a phone is a phone it's used for making calls and to contact other people, can't just hate it because of no custom roms, remember older phones like the Motorola V3? No custom roms back then but was a bomb
It's like saying I hate my BMW 760li because there aren't many custom headlights available, Hehehe, to each its own though.

I love this phone but honestly im not getting another htc phone. No support. Wen i had the samsung epic 4g there was no support from sammy on that... I wanna sell my amaze or at least trade for a gnex... Shouldve went to sammy but got this.. a beast phone but htc wont support it... Ics is garbage on here without the devs. But i guess once we get a good aosp rom ill have to stick with speed rom... Htc no more after this. I understand not updateding officially but at least release the drivers and make it easy for us to update our phones ourselves. -__-
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Gnex hardware is so outdated though! Only thing keeping me from switching is the camera (I'm spoiled by the amazes) old processor and 21mbps network
I hate decisions like this!

Yeah mine too :/ I love my amaze, but I'm holding on to it until the next nexus, you can't put a price on timely updates straight from Google. And the Dev support? Oh lawd!!

Nothing wrong with HTC Amaze. It's a classy phone.
Don't let the new quad-core phones impress you. The most cores you'll use is two.

I don't consider it a phone. I use way less than 100 minutes a month. This is my computer that I can alo use as a phone. Your analogy doesn't make sense for me. I give a crap about call quality or anything phone call related really.
I'm wondering if there is anything holding back an AOSP build for the HOX+. I've read that it might be lack of kernel source, S-OFF, or a driver related issue. I've noticed a lot of Sense-based ROM's pop up lately and I was just curious if there's something we're waiting on before a AOSP ROM can be possible, or if it's just lack of development. I'm coming from a Gnex so I don't know a great deal about subsidized phone "hacking".
Lloir is currently working on CM10 and has said he expects it to be ready before the end of the year.
ah, that's great news. I hope us at&t users will get some loving as well.
I'm pretty sure he is making it for us AT&T users too.

But just FYI
I just "arrived" now here coming from the One V
I have worked there together with Lloir to sucessfully make
CM9 and CM10 available for the One V
So you can expect that this "project" now gets some extra "boost"
having 2 people working on it.
And I really really really have the strong need to get rid of that Sense
stuff ASAP
That's awesome news Maxwen!

Though I'm a noob to XDA. I know almost all about Desire X. I recommend to use this one. Other wise u can choose by Clicking Here to go to the ROM's page. I hope this helps. Please click "Thanks" if its usefull.
I think it would be mind blowing to have a collaboration Rom made by all the Developers we've had here. I know it would be nearly impossible due to conflicting schedules and having lives other than developing but wouldn't it be great to pretty much have a perfect rom? Just kind of a post for conversation, I guess.

Rhetorical or not he's looking for the one Rom, a single Rom to rule them all... would get cluttered and bombarded with too many ideas conflicting. We need choice to keep things interesting. Every Rom here is awesome on a customizational level I haven't seen in my previous phones.
Pointless endeavor really.

this is why AOSP i build is as "plain" as it is, so people can add stuff\remove stuff via flashable zips to it...and make it they're own rom..
I just thought it would be cool to be able to have a massive pool of tweaks from every Rom available in one package. Of course it's great to have a variety of roms but I also think it would be great to see what kind of performance we could have with a bunch of devs putting their skills together in building one rom. They're all great but I was just thinking of what it would be like. I already knew it's not possible which is why I labeled this as an impossible idea. I just wanted it open to discussion.
