I know everyone hates this question but there is so much information in the original development thread and it really would be easier for someone to answer this question because there is an objective answer. I am not asking what the "best" rom in terms of what you like most, but the fastest and most stable rom. I have looked around the forum and it seems that the Viper rom is the top choice.
On almost any device, there really isn't a "best" ROM. It really just comes down to what you want from the ROM.
Edit: misread, sorry. I would assume any desenced ROM should run super smooth.

Which ROM do you recommend? I just flashed CF-Root and don't know which one to pick. I'm interested in MIUI but if there are some other stable, fast and good looking ones then I'd eagerly try them.
I could tell you...but then I'd have to kill myself.
You have to try them for yourself mate. No one can tell you.

you should know already that people likes are different, so try them so you can make a decision
just take a look at the roms on both subforums
Android original dev and Android Dev
Please just read/search and flash ROMs until you find one you like.
These threads are closed/deleted everyday because nobody can answer this question for you. It goes against the very spirit of this website to ask other people to tell you what to put on your phone

what is the most stable and fastest rom currently available for the us player 5.0? I recently came on cm9, and I thought it was a very close to ics it still had some bugs and issues. Although I would prefer an ics rom, I would also like to know the best overall rom for our player! Thank you !
This is development section not general so this topic is pure spam and same topic every week is opening.
Go here to not repeat ourself http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841676

If you were a bit more respectful towards other people in terms of not wasting their time asking what's probably one of the most asked questions on this forum and spent like 5 minutes looking around it, you would have found the answer already...

Dude, wtf? You have been warned already and your thread closed...
Reported, again.
Many of the DEV's help each other out and I even bet real life friends. Not cool to ask "who" makes a better ROM. They all are good ROM's in their own merit.
If you need to know the answer... install one ROM and test drive it. Back it up and install the other ROM. Test drive it. Compare your own observations and make the decision on your own. I believe you will be your own best judge as to which ROM you like most.
Good luck.
Pointless thread is pointless.
Please heed your previous warning and refrain from cluttering the forums with threads like this.
Hey guys, I have been checking some ROMs online and have found two interesting ones.
Ultima ROM and FoxHound ROM
I would like to get your opinion as to which one is better performance-wise, battery-wise, and feature-wise. Or just general pros/cons of eachr
If you haven't tried it out I would still like to get your opinion since the S3 will be my first android phone
Best rom what rom posts are against the rules.

I've used both but Ultima has been the best for me. Battery, performance and has the greatest customisation with the aroma installer. You get to choose what you want installed or don't want. So its totally custom. The dev support is great too. Regular communication and updates.
WanamLite, Omega, Foxhound, Hyperlight. I rotate between these 4. The rest can go away
There's no "best" rom for obvious reasons we all have differing expectations, I used to use FH 1.3 (ICS) and loved it but when the switch to JB came around I found it didn't quite live up to the other roms around so even when you think you've found the perfect rom always be prepared to try new ones.
This is headed for a thread close very soon.
But to answer your question, I can only offer an opinion and that is in my sig .

Pointless and childish thread !
But first of all is against rules !
I request to be closed and deleted !

This is a thread asked for opinions Between two popular roms. People who used both of them can have their comments regarding them. Nothing is wrong with that.

You're dead wrong there, this is a thread to ask people which ROM is better, hence the title.
That is against the rules.
Having an opinion leads to a discussion as to what is the better ROM, people will disagree and bring up good and bad points about each rom, which like I said is against forum rules.
Saying that I'm surprised its still open.
To put things into perspective, I'll answer your question by asking another. What's better football or snooker?

NOT A 'WHICH ROM IS BEST' THREAD!!!
Hi,
I'm new to the S3, come from HTC Sensation and Galaxy S2. I'm been running custom ROMs for years.
Please could somebody briefly let me know these things?
1. I am assuming there are stable JB ROMs and more beta-type KK ROMs at the moment, is that correct?
2. Could somebody suggest a stable/solid JB ROM to start me off with? I prefer RR/CM type ROMs.
3. I've always wanted to try an AOKP ROM and I know there's one for the S3. Is the milestone 2 version stable?
Many thanks!
Adam
Yes it is a best rom thread, go try them for yourself. There is a reason they are against the rules.

Why bother typing something so unhelpful?
It would have taken the same amount of effort to have said "well, it's not my favourite ROM, but XXX seems stable and is a good place to start" or something like that.
The internet; bringing the worst out in people all day, everyday...
I like how u phrase this thread but it is still a best rom thread. The reason why this is still a best rom thread is cos u asked for a stable rom recommendation. Will be asking mod to close.

Mod Edit
Whichever way you word it...
"Best" or "Recommend" ROM/kernel threads are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.
Don't forget to make a nandroid before you start.
