Hello everyone.
This is my first post and unfortunately, I need help!!
My wife has a droid razr that got the early xmas jellybean update. Phone has been rooted as well. My wife decided to download all sorts of root apps and installed the beats audio app without backing her stuff up. Well now the official jellybean OTA is being pushed to her phone, and she cannot update. I have tried via OTA, and sideloading the file that I pulled.
This is the error she gets:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/lib/libwebrtc_audio_preprocessing.so", install aborted
Is there a way and can download the original files that were supposed to be there before beats changed it??
Thanks for your help!
You can flash back with rsd lite the complete firmware, that should restore it..

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I know how to do that, sooo....whaaa? lol
Where do I need to download the firmware? Do I have to download one for the xmas jelly bean release?
Also, I tried downloading just the audio_.......... files off 4shared and replaced the one in my file system. That did not seem to do the trick. Do I have to have a specific copy of it??
Thanks

Look at the stickies in your phone thread and there should be a thread about reverting to stock. Just follow the guide there and you should be fine.
If it doesn't revert to the latest version then you will receive an ota notification. If you want to make sure you are on the latest firmware just go to setting-software update.

Helo guys, I used to own a Samsung Galaxy S, and last week I got the Droid X2 from Verizon. So now I'm seeing new terms being used like sbf, debloat, freeze, etc...
My DX2 is root and I also have the V6 Supercharger, and I still can't get the GB update.
I believe many users on this forum have the same case as mine, so can anyone give us steps to follow in order to get the update.
Thank you so much
sbf back to stock using rsd.
download the gb update, flash in recovery
look under general in Droid x2 forums

I came from a similar situation. I just got the x2 as a replacement for my fascinate due to repetitive missed call issues. I updated to Gingerbread today using the tips on this forum & the file posted to the mediafire link. The first thing you'll need to do for this update to work is undue all the non-stock modifications you've done.
Unsupercharge
Unfreeze or replace any stock apps you may have uninstalled. This is where the sbf comes in, it's the stock image that was loaded when it left the factory.
Unroot, might not be necessary but its better safe than sorry. Especially since this update is unrootable atm.
Rename the downloaded file update.zip & put it in the root of your sdcard-ext.
Flash from the stock recovery & you should be good.
Whatever other info you need, search these threads-its in there somewhere.

So the sbf brings back the DX2 to its original settings and apps?

The SBF does infact restore you to stock 2.2.2
It should also be the first thing you do when you get the phone (before rooting etc) It blows my mind that people would mess with their device without doing an SBF at least once.
The SBF will usually require you to battery pull at the end, go to stock Android recovery and wipe data and cache. (unless you did that before running the SBF)
On Vista and Windows 7 make sure you right click RSDlite and choose to "run as admin"
Everyone who did the OTA or the 2.3 update from here at XDA and wants p3droids rooted update is going to have to SBF momentarily. We should get rooted 2.3 this afternoon according to p3's twitter
I unrooted my phone and uninstalled the Supercharger, I sbf'd back to stock Froyo successfully, and still I can't get the update. What else should I do?

GREAT, you have completed step one. Do not load anything else on your phone. You will not be getting a over the air update.
You have more work to do to get 2.3.3 on your phone.
Just follow the direction at this link.

Just to be clear.... He should eventually get an OTA update if he waits long enough. But he won't be able to root it. So follow the link above, and do those steps to install the rooted version of the update from 3Pdroid.
(Yeah I know that's obvious, but the title of this thead DOES include the words, "I'm Totally Lost". )
Thanks all, I'm on the pre-rooted GB now
Much appreciated
Google search just brings up a bunch of news about how it's on the way, but apparently I need it to flash the new version of Eclipse. Anyone have a link?

From my understanding, its an OTA update. So just be on stock and check for a software update. But be sure to go through the process to keep root.
Just updated while on stock and it's only taking me to 234, thinking I need to update to 235 in stock recovery but can't find a working download.
Hmm. Well I havent seen any link to download the update. I was under the impression that it was OTA. The only one I remember was the leak but I dont think thats what the newest version of Eclipse is based on. Sorry I cant be more help. I havent gone that route and updated. Im sticking with 2.3.4
You're good, yeah I'm guessing once I'm on 235 and update it will give me the new build. Seems like it may be a pain though because of some new security patch, might just stay on 234 myself.
The update really has nothing useful in it. I'd stay on whatever you have now and wait for CM9 which may be coming pretty soon. Thats my plan.
What's the word on CM9, I hadn't heard anything? Kind of veering off topic here but yeah I ran CM7 for a while, Eclipse was just less buggy overall. I'd kill for a solid MIUI on dx2.

From what I understand they have NOT OTAd that update though I can confirm that they are coming from the factory like that, as my replacement did. Now you are able to sbf back to the release before this and achieve root from there

I assume you rooted using ZergRush method? This modifies system files during the root process and will force the 2.3.5 OTA update to fail during installation.
Root using Pete's Motorola Root Tools one click method and you will be fine. Just make sure you install VooDoo Rootkeeper from the Market and save a backup of your 2.3.4 root. Temp unroot and accept the OTA update. It will install with no issue if you use Petes one click to root. Once booted into 2.3.5 open VooDoo again. First restore root and the delete the backup. You can now flash eclipse 2.2

Hi all experts,
I have been dying to upgrade my Razr to ICS, and trying hard on the various guides in this forum....but no luck
I have used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757766 this guid as well, and went through all the pages but could not find any solutions.
Currently (Still) :crying:I am having following specs with my Razr (With Clockwork Mod)
System Version:- 65.1.40.XT910.PSHAsiaRetail.en.03
Android Version:- 2.3.6 (GB)
Build Number:- 6.5.1-167-SPD-IRD-40
Build Date:- 6th Feb
I have also tried by restoring to factory settings and erasing the cache, but had serial 7 error everytime I tried the OTA file from the above link. My phone is rooted, so also tried by temporarily unrooting it through OTA Rootkeeper.
Tried all these premutations and combinations, but no luck:crying:
I would appreciate if some one could guied me on what to do to have my Razr running on ICS. Thanks all

Is it the fastboot.exe file which is installed after installing Android SDK? If not, can you provide me the link because I have already cursed google for not giving me any link to this file. Also do we need to install the 2 files mentioned in point 1 & 2, through RSD lite?

Since your are on 2.3.6 . You need to download GB fastboot from post #2 . I believe that file is around 800mb. RSD Flash this file to apfast boot mode . Then update ota. You don't need to flash any boot.img or system sign.

Download this, protect root, download update, restore root. You should be okay.
anyone else having issues updating. It downloads the update and then after reboot it has the android with the gears moving and then it shows a brief android with a red triangle on top of him and then it just reboots back to 4.1.1.

If you want root I would play it safe.
verizon / samsung do follow xda and they have been patching holes within their devices. to be safe you should wait for dev to get this file and give you direction.
a day (maybe two) wait will not hurt you! if you jump, it could be month before you get root back.

What he said.
I posted that for kejar31 and imnuts. They asked for the update.zip.
I'll be as straight to the point as I can
I bought a SGS3(i9300) it had ICS when I wanted to update It always said"No update available" and I tried OTA and Kies nothing got me the update to JB
so I went back to the place I bought it from he told me you're not gonna get the update because of where your device was made or something like that(Although I have friends who had the same device, bought it from the same place and they got the OTA update)
anyway He told me he will get me the JB by rooting...I was so eager to get the JB update I said ok...he did it
now I have a rooted device with this build number(JZO54k,I9300XXelk4)(it says its the stock rom when I googled it....I guess)
The problem is I want to get rid of this rom go back to stock and get the official update to JB from samsung via OTA maybe so that it will give me updates if any are available soon(The s4 features they were talking about)because now when I try to check for updates it says your device is modified
Another question is if I want to change to a custom ROM now what should I do?(I really want to try this Rom which makes the software like of the Nexus 4)(I dont think he backed up the ICS stock one)
Thanks alot and sorry for writing this long article
P.S:Yes Im a noob when it comes to rooting...
