Completely Unresponsive GT-9100 after Odin - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, my GT-9100 phone wont do anything. Nothing happens when I press the power button, it just stays off. I broke it, possibly by flashing the wrong PID using odin. I also forgot that I also had the PDA box checked with a CWM tar before I clicked start. The phone turn off and now wont turn on again.Anyone have any idea how I can at least get the phone into download or recovery mode?
I've tried the volume up/down-home-power button thing but as the phone wont actually turn on I've had no luck with that. I've also tried using another fully charged battery from another phone. No luck with that either.
Also, there is nothing on the screen when i plug in the charger.

Try a usb jig, if that doesn't work your phone is probably bricked

I think he did
I don't understand why so many people just flash a random pit file, it's not needed for ordinary flashing

they flash pit files simply because they are there.

Yep, guess they will never learn, until their 500 € phone is just a paperweight...

Ok, i'll try getting the jig. If that fails I can get it jtag'd. Not sure why people are posting cartoons on a help forum. Not very helpful.

I really hope you can get your phone fixed, but as i said before: i don't understand why you want to mess with something like a pit file, your not a new member so you must have already seen someone brick their phone with a pit file
Always think twice when you flash something, especially on a 500€ phone

Odin froze on EC01 modem flash.. what now?

I installed the EC01 ROM and sbrisson mod without issue, then went to flash the EC01 modem.bin via Odin 1.7 and it seems to have frozen up. Attached screenshot. What do I do now? I def don't want a brick for a phone.. I have a pallet of bricks outside which are much prettier, and red.
I have the phone sitting here still in DL mode, so the faster the help, the better

Just disconnect restart odin, go back to download mode and reflash, your not gonna hurt anything by starting over.

I know I have seen this same thing posted in the EC01 thread. Is your battery out? Quite a few people have gotten stuck at that point when doing ODIN with the battery in. I believe they have safely closed ODIN, pulled battery, reopened ODIN, connected with battery out, and flashed radio with no problems. I am still searching the thread to verify, so if you want to wait I will keep searching and let you know.
Same thing happened to me on the first modem flash, it seems a little glitchy. I just re-odined and it worked, good luck bro!
yeah they're right..it's the battery being in...was for me anyway...same thing happened..yank the battery, restart odin, re-flash and it should go through fine..takes about 20 seconds to dont get scared...
Thanks everyone. I did just as you recommended and all went well. I'm now on ed01 and loving life.

Never a good Idea to use the pit file unless there is something drastically wrong with the phone....
Have you had any luck fixing this.. if not post the current state of your phone..
Unplug the cable and see what happened (soft brick, hard brick)... you shouldn't have used the .pit file for such a problem...

[Q]Phone issue with Odin and Heimdall

Hi! I have used these forums in the past while playing with my Samsung Galaxy Fascinate(T959D).
My issue is that no matter what cord I use to try and get a rom or recovery onto my phone right now Odin either "hangs" or it "fails" and Heimdall can't find the phone at all even after using the driver program that it comes with.

I have a "jig" that forces the phone into download mode so getting into download mode is no issue. A couple times when I have tried to use Odin on the phone it has come up with something like "Failed to re-partition"....
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to get this phone going for my sister who has 4 kids. (Her last Android her youngest got mad at her and threw it in the toilet)
Thank YOu Ragn

What is it that you are trying to do exactly? Do you have the correct samsung drivers? Are you pulling the battery out as well? Normally the phone part of Odin is not used, it's like a no no, but I guess it depends on what you are trying to do.

I am putting firmware and everything back on the phone. The system, boot, data, datadata etc I guess all got formatted. Yes I am pulling out the battery.

It was fine till I downloaded Odin 1 Click download.
After that, the ohone simply won't turn on!!
Whats wrong? And What to do next?
forced download, the device is begging you to flash something.
Plug it in, odin it, and make sure you are flashing the RIGHT ROM for your device's model.

Yes, I did.
Then I downloaded Odin 1 Click, which was suppose to stock ROM it. Instead, created a new problem.

get odin 1.85, kill all kies applications running on background and plug your device (power it first).
And make sure it's charged.

Bricked?

Hey everybody, so I bought myself a messed up vibrant hoping I could fix it. Originally it acted like this:
Plug it in to charge: shows the stock loading bar, then loading bar with battery, repeat.
Turn it on: shows the at&t world phone screen, (I think they tried to flash captivate files to it) (yes I am sure it is a vibrant, I have had 3 now)
Wouldn't even go into download mode, definitely not recovery.
I bought a USB download mode jig, and that worked wonders on it and got it to download mode!
My micro USB port on my phone is junk, but I finally got odin to recognize it, but it failed after saying setup connection forever.

Any ideas? Is JTAG the only option I have at this point, if so anyone know who'll do it for less than $50?
If it helps I have a linux computer.
Maybe the unbrickableMOD? I suck at soldering and I don't really know anyone who is good, but I might be able to make that work as a last resort.
Now it has changed its mind once again, I put the USB jig in and it went to the soft bricked screen with the cell phone...!...computer
It can't be a problem with the cable or the computer because I have tried several ports and I have used same computer with odin many times.
It has changed its mind once again, now we're back to download mode.
I have finally gotten it back in download mode, now trying to get odin to see it again and not have the computer just say usb device not recognized . Any ideas for this?
Progress! Now it will say but i still cannot get odin to recognize it again, any ideas? I have and am trying multiple versions of odin just to make sure.
Now we're back to .
Still no ideas? If I can get odin to recognize it again I think I have a special odin to fix it.
Eh, maybe I'll scrap it for parts.
Try and get odin to recognise it and flash i9000 pit file. It should flash successfully. Then try flashing the firmware, make sure you include the pit file.
Kindly hit the THANKS button if i helped.
I AM A POTAYTOE!!! :banghead:
Sounds to me like your usb port is bad. www.mobiletechvideos.com will replace it for you or you can just order the part if you know how to solder but you must be really good at soldering or you will ruin it. They also offer jtag I believe but I don't feel like you need that. Mobile tech is a very trusted source FYI, so purchase with confidence if you go that route.
