Hi all , i have run into a really persistent problem while trying to root my Xperia P.
I cannot seem to get device manager to recognize my phone while in debugging mode , under Android ADB interface .
I've1) installed PCcompanion
2) installed SUS
3) installed drivers from the flashtool drivers folder
4) installed xperia p drivers from http://developer.sonymobile.com/wportal/devworld/downloads/download/xperiapxperiauxperiasoladrivers
but i still cannot get device manager to recognize my phone . However , it does show up under storage .
I really hope anyone can solve my problem . Thanks in advance !

Boot into recovery by pressing vol down button when u see sony logo
U enter recovery
Go to install zip from sd card
Choose any zip u want to install
(wipe dalvik / cache if installation method in original posts asks to do so)
I'm guessing you haven't installed cwm recovery yet, look for it in development section of your device.

Does Adb means usb debugging
Can you provide link for it
Sent from my MT27i using xda app-developers app
Adb is android debug bridge. It needs debugging mode enabled to run on phone. Look around for drivers or get it from android sdk. It was a real pain even for me.

Hmm can you list the step you do it?
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium
In flashtool folder is drivers folder. Install drivers for your device and drivers for flashboot and fastboot. You'll be fine.
