General thread for Erikcas CM10.1 nightly builds.Share your thoughts and opinions here
As we know Wayland_Ace won't develop anymore for our aces so Erikcas took over this project.
Current Release is pretty stable and optimal as a daily driver

No. Not another one to try I'm sticking with AOKP unless the performance of this one is on par?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app

Current version 20130305, was an upload for Mardon, not erickas.
I'm still waiting from changelog
Right now i'm using the upload from 20130224 and i think it's awesome.. fast and smooth.
EDIT: the upload was made for Mardon, not by Mardon.. My bad
erickas said this today:
You might want to wait a few hours as a new build is coming up later today

20130305 changelog
CM added new features and fixed a battery drain issue, actually that battery drain issue was fixed in 25 of February i have been using a inofficial 25 of feb build and can confirm that the battery lasts longer, but turning on wifi still drains a lot of power

Any way to get Keyboard Gesture typing to work?
BTW the rom is smoother than Wayland's Beta 7 and is very stable for me.

Gesture typing won't be possible in future on AOSP keyboard because its unfortunetaly a armv7 feature

I think I've a stupid question D: I've read I can flash from wayland's build (last beta 7) to erikcas's build without any wipes, but I want to know if I can flash directly to last build (today, 20130310) or it's better flash first earlier ones (Sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand me) and thanks!

All is ok now, only 2 reboots needed and it's because I've some apps linked. This build is smooth and stable (only 1 FC..Google Play, dunno why..but only once), and the only wrong I can say it's internal storage..Link2SD (and system) say only 4-5 mb free..Do u have not much free internal storage too? Or only me?

CyanogenMod 10.1(Nightlies) so far no issue
I decided try CyanogenMod 10.1(Nightlies) from today apart from little freeze at times all is good.
Only odd think i noticed my battery charge is 29% but under stock gingerbread 2.3.4 it looked had more charge but will see long battery lasts under normal usage.
Battery drain with wifi on is really bad

Last release is super smooth! I feel Erickas CM 10.1 the most stable and fastest cyanogenmod 10.1 here.
The battery backup is almost as good as gingerbread. I've did many calls, sms, used wifi, music and I still have alot of battery juice left. Awesome release.)
Hats off.

I know this thread is about CM 10.1 by erikcas, but since AOKP is released by him too, i think i can ask this here
Just verifying if anyone have this bug too (in AOPK 09/03/2013): Flashlight toogle doesn't work for me, i turn it on and nothing happens. Is this a known bug?

From a CM7 user:
Last nightly (10/3/2013) is a daily rom, only minor tiny lags, the speed is comparable to a gb stock rom. i recommend replace the keyboard by 2.3 keyboard(gingerbread one) from market and not tick "join aplications/widgets tab" in any launcher otherwise it will lag like hell.

I've tried version 090313 and it works very well, batteries last up to 12 hours more,
but now comes the version 100313,
I dont know what the difference with the previous version,
if anyone had tried it?

wifi issue

You right this release is nearly perfect once battery drain issue with wifi is addressed this will be even better.
Youtube/camera works great the only thing would like to see added is an fm radio app like in gingerbread.

Implemented FM support from CM (AOKP)
Updated some memory handlers in kernel (CM/AOKP)
---------- Post added at 10:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:33 PM ----------
I think that we should go on using the other Cm 10.1 thread as there are already many solutions to common problems.

Guys im looking forward to trying this rom. Just wondering which's the best internal memory script since i come from cm7 and amarullz's got too slow on mine, and i cant test PSN's mem modded kernel cause my SD is class 4 only, i read somewhere int2ext4+ works flawless on cm10.1 but i dont know how my sd card will respond. If theres no workaround i guess ill have to change it to get my ace to keep being smooth.
What do you think?

Cyanogenmod 7.1 Stability and performance?

I was thinking of switching from checkrom to cyanogenmod, because its an aosp rom. Hows the general stability of cyanogenmod in the galaxy sII? Is the camera app perfect? I wanna know about stability and battery life too.. thanks.

I used to use CM7 but the devs sort of left it to work on CM9, which by the way is going to be awesome.
When is cm9 going to come out?the stable version I mean?

I've been using the Unofficial builds (link) of CM7 for a couple of weeks and had no problems. It has never crashed for me (some users have reported that it sometimes can crash when using the market). The camera app works with no problems, but the stock Android camera app don't have as many features as the Samsung camera app (I don't really care since I use a camera app from the market). The battery life is really good in my opinion. It definitely gets me through a day of normal usage, though it depends on how much you're using your phone.
And all the apps from the market work just fine?
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA App
i use cm7 b4 , the performance is awesome and stable
Choose the latest nightlies, they're 7.2 RC's. They're more stable than the stable release which in the end became a 7.1 RC, not to mention more features, etc...
The latest Buildbot official build is #116 on the Cyanogen Mirror Network. Codeworkx posted #117 on his blog here: http://codeworkx.de/wordpress/2011/12/17/cyanogenmod-7-12172011-galaxys2/
There are various unofficial builds, etc... but I haven't used any of them in a long time. There were some useful changes after #117 that the unofficial builds would have. None of them (that I can recall) critical to core functions however.

[Q] The fastest and most stable ROM

So,
I've already tried out a few ROMs (CM9, MIUI JB, AOSP JB, AOKP B4).
I was very happy with CM9 - it had many features, was stable and also smooth. But it got after awhile a bit laggy.
Then I decided to go on MIUI JB. At the beginning it was the best i ever had, but then it was laggy as hell (even with overtakting) and unuseble.
I was very very happy with AOSP JB - cleanest and fastest ROM I've tried so far. Bugs and the less features told me to switch AOKP.
AOKP is good, but not as good at the rest. It's sometimes unstable and the booting time is just way too long.
I dont need thousands of features, but what I need are the notification switches (so important for my daily life!)
Any recommendations to me? And ofc, it must be FAST and STABLE.

Jelly sandwich 7.4 very fast and stable, but why post a new thread if you ask it in GENERAL CHAT ?? and thread is already excist, but better test it by your own instead keep asking, not everyone have test all roms, so its way easier if you test it by your own mate

You must be mistaken me with someone else. And the other threads I found are not really up-to-date and ROM-developing is very fast nowadays so I cant test them all... and that's why I aked.
I'll try out PAC and Jelly Sandwich or Ultimate HD
But I dont like to have too many features... Simple and clean is the best :good:
I have Tried so many ROMs so far but I came back to Stock ics .587 with Night-elf 1.5 kernel+ Holo camera also few other tweaks and I am fine with it. I really love stock Rom and with a few mod its the best for me.
I tried several ROMs:
*Stock ICS from Sony (two days)
*Spacious Smooth & Light ICS (four weeks)
*Icecream Pureness Build 13 (several days)
* JellySandwich 6.2.5, 7.3 and 7.4 (as of the middle of October)
So far JellySandwich 6.2.5 is the fastest I ever tested and worth a try. Some bugs though: No LED notification 2G-toggle-bug and "Xperia Home has stopped"-bug. But these don't count very much, everything else is running fine!
It's even faster than 7.3 and 7.4! These versions do not seem to be stable yet...

@Dev: Yeah, I read that, it's the link under "v4.5 Base..." right? Well, this patch dismisses my reboot-option in the standby-menu. If that is the only problem I will give it another try. Is there something else I should know that could be messed up after applying this patch?
Then I wanted to use your new "Xperia Home"-patch. Unfortunately the link sends me to the "Mediafire" homepage. Maybe you could fix that link or send me the correct URL. I would like to eliminate that bug too.
Well, as I already said, the ROM is great, Bro! :highfive: Thanks for that! And it's even a port, right!? Crazy...

Try PAC rom....u will never want to change...!!!!awsmmm feeling of tablet, phablet, notification toggle like you want...!!!
All roms are good because there is a lot of effort on every individual roms.
You don't have to search best rom you may fall in to conclusion.
day by day every Rom is keeps on improving. Devs are doing every bit of best. We are not suppose to say this is the best or that. every rom has its own good feature.
choose a Rom which suits you best it depends on how you use daily basis and how it attracts you..
I thanks to all devs who are giving us free custom Roms which we have not asked for it.. So far I just say they all or best keep it up...

@Dev, I am a noob. Having Neo V running .587 rooted & with locked bootloader. Used x-parts to install cwm and then installed Jelly Sandwitch rom. It was a success but after rebooting stuck at Sony logo. Could not go to recovery when I tried booting the phone again (I had to remove battery to switch off). After reading the steps once again, I find that probably I missed "Flash kernel modules via cwm". If that is true, how it is to be done? x-part has no such option and rom manager did not do that? Pl help.

Three question:
1-. The realases that are uploaded at get.cm and in freexperia are the same ROMs? I don't think so because at freexperia says that the realases they build are unofficial and the last realase is based on 14th December's unofficial nightly; in get.cm, the official realase, are from 17th and 18th.
2-. That are all the issues of all supported smartphones, Is there a way to filter Xperia Ray's issues?
3-. What do you recommend me to choose, the official one or the unofficial?
Thanks for your rapid answer.

Urko

1. FXP has two members from CyanogenMod team... So both the ROMs aren't really that much different... The CyanogenMod nightlies are also managed by same members
FXP releases update every week regularly. next will be on 21st
2. All 2011 xperia devices have almost similar bugs... (leaving out hardware problems in play)
Like...
Front camera is still laggy...
Reboots on playing YouTube video... No panaroma... etc... etc...
3. I suggest you to download the FXP ROM because it's somewhat more refined than the CM nightlies

However our biggest feature is the ability to turn all that off with one switch in the toolbox, giving you 100% aosp look and feel.
We also do eng builds (instead of userdebug like everyone else) providing more open experience (ie adb root by default) and full complement of commandline tools (busybox, vim, ssh, curl/wet with ssl support!)
Our newest addition is a custom updater written from scratch by Preludedrew and myself, featuring automatic update checks, support for downloading gapps, and advanced automatic install (TWRP and CWM supported but TWRP prefered)
Notes:
If upgrading from Evervolv 3.2.0 it is NOT necessary to wipe /anything/. Android should handle upgrades perfectly. That said take a backup! (Our updater lets you do that without any interaction)
Graphics have slight regression due to having to revert to 4.1 egl libs
Superuser is invisible! This is temporary, you can still gain root/allow apps you just can't manage them so don't allow anything permanently you don't trust
4.2 issues carry over:
wifi hotspot only works on open
camera preview is broken
data (3g) works but is unstable
no camcorder
no usb tether
Everything else should be fine.
Gapps:
available in updater ( source http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857 )
STOP!! Q: What is blackrose? A: Dont f***** download if you don't know http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1270589
Download:

Squished package should fit (with gapps) on 250MB /system
Releases will only be built as milestones right before major updates are merged and will not be announced. Nightlies are prefered and are usually stable.

Hi,
Testing this build now.
Google play music hangs and the phone reboots else others is fine.
Using with a2sd nocachesd, ext gapps, slimmed the rom down a lil bit. Will try to get the logs.
Great job evervolv team!
