Hello,
I moved to CM10.1 the 3/4 Nightly a couple days ago, and it was working fine.
Then yesterday out of the blue the dialer stopped working.
When I press the call button, there is a delay where the screen is black except for the status bar and the home buttons are backlit.
Then the calling screen comes up w the timer etc but you can hear no ringing and eventually the call stops.
The in-call buttons are also responding poorly: press the speakerphone button and the whole button stays blue for a second, then it shows the blue line at the bottom.
I went to Setting-Apps and cleared the cache and force closed both Phone and Phone/Messaging Storage and rebooted and it still does it.
I've got the full 4 blue bars with HSPA:10.
Should I reflash an older 10.1 nightly?
Flashed the 3/7 build just now ... Same issue.
It's almost like the speaker gets disabled when a call is made.

Every time I answer a call or push the send button to start a call, the screen goes blank, all external buttons do not work, and the 4 soft button are not functioning. I have to wait for the other person to hang up to end the call, and even then none of the screen or button functionality returns. I have to remove the battery and reboot the phone every time. Anybody seen this or experiencing this?
Running CM 7.0.2 Stock (no OC kernel, no GPS patch)
Edit: I found that plugging in the usb cable resets the screen and brings it back to normal. there has to be a setting or tweak thats causing this
After receiving a phone call, which lasted around 5 minutes. I hung up the phone and then through the speaker there was a loud crackling sound. I then noticed the 3 illuminated touch screen buttons started to flicker. Eventually the touch screen stopped working. Only the hard buttons work, the unit has switched on/off numerous times and I have also tried a hard reset by holding the power and + buttons until it vibrates 3 times.
Nothing is happening.
I don't want to lose my data, I need a way to back it up.
Could somebody please help?????
I have 2.2 stock OS, been working fine for long time, but last weekend I dropped the phone. Since then (I have powered off/on and taken battery out a couple times but no difference), the phone no longer recieves phone calls -- no ring or missed call notification; callers get sent to voicemail after 1-2 rings, and the voicemail notification does show up immediately.
2 other symptoms are that the lock screen no longer displays (phone goes straight to home screen when I press the power button), and pressing the power button for a second only shows me the Power Off option (previously it had options for Airplane mode and Data Off as well).
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Shaun
That's weird. I'd flash a different ROM and see if it works then. I have no idea why it would power up and skip the lock screen.
For the phones calls I'd think may e it messed up the SIM reader. Maybe its fitting in there funny now, or maybe its broken altogether. Maybe a fresh install of something would alleviate some symptoms and give us a clue as to what really is going on.
You were just sliced bread before you were burnt by the toaster.
Couple questions...
When I am in a call, I can't change the volume while the phone is to my ear (because the screen is off). If I take it away from my ear and let the screen turn back on, then I can change the volume. But all phones including the stock galaxy s4 rom allows you to change the volume while the phone is to your ear and the screen is off. Where did I go wrong?
Does anyone have Snapchat installed? My Snapchat has a grey bar at the top about 1 cm. It's like the entire snapchat gui was shifted downward by 1 cm because I can't see the very bottom of the screen like I usually did. Anyone know what's going on there?

same thing happens with snapchat to me, i would like to see if there is a fix or if this is going to be addressed!
Does anyone have any other ideas?
Also, has anyone found a way to change the volume of the call without taking the phone away from my ears so that the screen turns on?
The volume thing is new to RLS4 I believe (I never noticed it until then) and the Snapchat bug is also a thing, I tried re-installing it and the grey bar persists, I am sure sbreen is aware of it and working on it.
its started, that the galaxy s2 is dropped from my pocket and since has only black screen but i can get calls, the speaker and the light of menu and back Buttons working properly
So How i can fix that problem without replace the screen?
Thanks..
