Bidding farewell - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

After using my ace for almost 2 years, it is time for an upgrade. I have got myself a Nexus 4. I will still keep my ace but will not be doing any flashing with it. Would like to take this opportunity to show my gratitude to all the awesome members here! Ace was my first Android and it has brought me into android world. Thanks for apk your guidance!

Apologies. I didn't realise there is such a thread

Want to learn developing

Hi community,
my plans are to learn how to develop my own customROM and perhaps Kernel for my own device.
But I dont want to do this with my new mobilephone and my old ones (LG o2x, HTC HD2) are giveaways for my mum and girlfriend so there isn't a mobilephone left to do this.
Now I've considered to buy a cheap and used Android mobilephone at ebay but there are so many different devices.
My question is if there is a device with which it is easy to learn developing and which pardons mistakes.
Sorry for my bad english and thanks for your response
best regards
ev!denz
I would go with a Nexus S (GSM version)
Very simple to use, pure Google and I would assume it's relatively cheap now. Also has ICS and JB

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

***New Device Forum Requests***
thnks
thank you mate :good:
To be honest you shouldn't be needing to ask, with a phone as popular is this it is without doubt there will be a forum section for the Note 2.
Yes..thats correct...also it also makes sense to not create the forum just days before the phone gets to the market as creating now would undoubtedly created tonnes of junk threads about issues/wishlists and what not!!!
Only the galaxy s3 had a forum about a week or ahead its release cos its the galaxy s3...

[Q] Favorite Rom for Note 2?

Just got my note 2, and I am not sure what ROM to get for it. Does anyone have one to recommend that doesn't have many bugs or issues, or is worth it overall in the long run to get?

All ROMs are good and stable for the members that use them. You will need to read through the top ROMs in Development and decide what is right for you...no one can tell you what you need to run.

Everyone will give you a different answer based on their own wants and needs. Best thing to do is just dive in head first and see which you enjoy more. IMO out of the ROMs I have flashed I found myself sticking to BeansRom. Love myself some TW and this is coming from an ex Galaxy Nexus user.

I've tried them all and I keep coming back to CleanROM ACE. It's not even that I love it that much... it's more that there is at least one thing about all the others that I don't like.

Insane Deal

Hi. I know this is not related to Note 2 at all but I want to share this insane deal to Note 2 community. I wouldn't be surprised if someone posted this already. Mod - If you think this is against the rules please take care of this thread. Thanks
..and finally

Yes. This isn't a joke. All this games for almost nothing. To get all of them including BF3 and Sims you need to donate whatever the average is.
Have Fun.
hey there, I'm just a contributor I don't maintain any threads or forums..... if these games are not cracked or illegal I think the forum could benefit probably you just have to post on the apps and game section

Yeah I understand. The only reason I have posted this here is that not all of us including myself read general sections of xda forum.

Nexus devices come with the purest version of Android installed. It's pure "vanilla Android" as you called it. If you buy a Nexus 6P new it will have Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed. If you buy a 6P used make sure the device has a clean ESN and is not blacklisted by any carrier that you want to use the device with. Also, if you buy it used, no matter what software is installed you can fastboot flash the Google factory images and return it to a fully stock state like the way Google designed it. Don't be scared about not having pure Android on a Nexus. That's the reason you buy a Nexus. If your really interested in a 6P, head on over to the Nexus 6P forums here on XDA and browse through each section. You will find some excellent information about the device in the General Forum as well as the Q&A and development forums. There are some excellent developers working on the 6P and they have built some really great ROM's and kernels for this device. Good luck and it's nice to have you in the XDA forums.

Hello Jupiter, we already have a welcome thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961655
Additionally, if you have any questions about the Nexus 6P, please use the Nexus 6P Q&A forum here.
