Ok, so I've been using the stock android music player for over 2 months now. It has all the functionality I want in a music player except maybe editing tags (album name, artists, etc) and finding album art (Album Art Grabber is my current solution to this).
The problem I have been having with this player is that when transferring music to the phone via 'Windows Media Sync' option is that sometimes the album art will not appear on the phone (happens to quite a few albums) and also the tags will be messed up. For instance, just recently I turned the phone on and was browsing my music library and all of a sudden the song titles appeared in lower case (ie. 'Tighten Up' became 'tighten up') I know this is a small thing but I find it annoying a little. Other things like artists will appear as 'Unknown'.
Anyone experience these problems as well? What programs/apps do you guys use? I've tried out poweramp trial version and it does allow my to edit tags but I was wondering if there is an app that is a sort of one click 'Find Album Info' like in Windows Media Player?
Check the music player called Neutron on the app market

Hi, I don't live in the US but managed to installed the the google play music app oficially from the play store since is available to download in my country (Honduras), then i used a proxy to download the music manager.
Everything is working fine except that the app is eating data like crazy i just listened to a song that is about 9MB and the app consumed nearly 40MB of data, I've noticed that the app pre download about 3 or 4 songs ahead of the one that i'm listening to that's why it uses so much data even when i'm not making the songs available for offline play. Also i noticed that when is not an entire album this doesn't happen.
¿Is there anything i can do to make it just stream the song that i want and not start buffering the next song in the album ahead of time?
Thanks.
Lots of hype about XBox Music, but so far I can't figure out how to use it on my Lumia 920. There's no XBox Music app that I can find. Can anyone help?

You have to subscribe to Xbox Music Pass first.
After subscribing the streaming should be integrated into the Music + Video hub.
You don't need a subscription to stream music you just need to add them to your cloud with the music app in windows 8. If you go to settings then on windows phone you can turn on or off sync with cloud. I do not have a pass but I do have a surface and an HTC 8X and am listening to xbox music right now .
the music app is xbox music, nothing needed to download, it's built into the phone.

I am an Xbox Music Pass owner, but I cannot seem to get all the music in my collection into the Xbox Music collection on my 8X. It syncs a few songs, around 300, but nowhere near the amount of songs I have in the collection on my PC. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong, if anything?
There does seem to be a problem with the "cloud collection" in xbox music for wp8. Here is an issue I had:
-went to download an album from the Store using my paid Xbox Music Pass subscription
-saw that it was already "in my collection" and therefore I could choose between buying it outright or streaming it
-went into Xbox music and turned on "show my cloud collection"
-lo and behold, the artist/album was NOT THERE to download
I had to actually stream the album, go to the Now Playing screen, hit the three dots, tap Download, then skip to the next track and do the same thing. By the time I got to the last song Xbox Music had crashed and the Store wouldn't open. I had to reboot the phone and try again --TWICE-- before it worked.
It's great when it works, but it rarely works. We're all beta testing this, folks.

the xbox music app on both ends (PC and phone) are a mess with management and syncing. personally i just download what i want on my phone via the phone store, it's not ideal (esp if you want a bunch of stuff or have things organized a specific way on the PC) but it's less headache for me right now.
I'm not sure where to post this, but i'm having a weird issue with play music
i have all my songs uploaded to play music. i listen to them using my laptop browser and ipad play music app
All my songs are also present on my phone's storage,
when i use the play music app on my android phone, music that are liked, deleted, or added to a play list doesnt appear on my cloud, it doesnt sync to the ipad or my laptop browser. (i'm not a noob, i obviously enabled sync for play music)
i'm thinking this happens because android play music app confuse the duplicate music that exist in my phone and in the cloud.
I need to keep my music in the phones local storage because i dont have fast internet access on mobile data.
How can i make google play music android app to display ONLY online content?
currently the only option is "all music" and "on device"
I have two questions in regard to the Music Unlimited app/function that is integrated with the Walkman.
1. While using the Walkman App, I am searching music (I'm a paid subscriber) within Music Unlimited. I am trying to download a song, not just simply add to my playlist, for playback while off-line. Does anyone know how to go about this? Do I have to download the actual stand-alone Music Unlimited app to have this "offline/download" playback feature? The attached screenshot does not show an option for "download".
2. The second question is when I do add a song to my playlist, how do I delete it once I no longer want it? The only way I was able to delete a song when saving it to my playlist via the Walkman app is to go directly to the Music Unlimited website on my PC, log on, and then delete song from my playlist. This is not cool, and it's unacceptable that I can add a song to a playlist via the Walkman/Music Unlimited app on my Xperia Z3 (D6616), but not have the option to delete it, without having to log on to a PC.
I also never found any purchase option, I would advise you to stick to a non manufacturer based store like GooglePlay Music, etc that way you have the same experience on any phone like when you upgrade/change models. You can still use Sony sound effects like Clear Audio+ in Google Music app.
I don't believe you can purchase/download through Music Unlimited. Sony chooses to make you pay for subscription rather than purchase and ditch subscription. From a sustainability perspective, its good business. I am a subscriber.

Any pros/cons versus Google Play Music? Well, putting downloads aside.

Music Unlimitd does allow for downloading for offline playback. This is allowed on the pc, as well as the official Sony Music Unlimited stand-alone app (avail in Google Play). But for some odd reason, the option is not available via the Walkman app. It really doesn't make sense since it's a Sony phone, with a Sony music player app, integrated with a Sony music service application.
I do have a subscription and am able to download songs for offline playback as mentioned earlier on the pc and through the actual stand-alone Music Unlimitd app.
In the walkman app you have to go to download the playlist.
Also make sure to go into settings and authorize your device for offline playback. This and the ability to mix playlist are the two things I miss from google music.

Just as calbrs said,
You need to add to a playlist then there is an option within the playlist to download for offline usage [emoji13]

Hey all, thanx for the tips! So I downloaded the song to a playlist and chose offline playback. It works! However, It will only play from the playlist. I was hoping I can put my whole library on random, and the downloaded song will play, but it appears as blacked out, and unable to playback, unless I play from the playlist. Suggestions?

Eventually I said screw it and went back to Google Play music. The walkman app kept deauthorizing my device for offline playback, and the UI just sucked.
Google play also gives out free albums every week, this week imagine Dragons/Gaurdians Mix Tape 1, both free. Also free music from new artists monthly.
Also Google play is better as a cross platform service. I use it on laptop, iPad and Z3.
Long term Sony's music service can't compete with iTunes, Google Music, Spotify etc. I'm sticking to Google.
