Since the JB update leaked and now with the new JB update I have had the option to install the "Emoji for Enlgish words" add-on dictionary doesn't stay installed once installed. Does anyone know a solution to this? I am not rooted and I was under the impression that emoji function on 4.1+
Please help me because just knowing this doesnt work drives me mad and I would like to avoid the root since I otherwise like my phone as is.

Hi All,
First of all, I DID do a search and nothing turned up. I also don't know which sub-forum this needs to go under, so mods please feel free to move it to a better location.
Note: I know there are other Android phones out there that have Arabic language packs, but it was not at all clear if those same packs would work on the Thunderbolt, and even less clear if they would work on the STOCK 2.3.4 update.
The basics:
Thunderbolt running 2.3.4 STOCK rooted and ready to go.
ClockworkMod recovery installed
So far the ONLY way for me to read Arabic properly is using Opera Mobile. However this only works for browsing sites like aljazeera.net. The system itself doesn't support Arabic entirely with apps like the Webkit browser, and text messaging showing the letters in LTR rather than RTL and disjoint.
Since I have a rooted device running the latest official stock rom (2.3.4) I figured now is the time to investigate.
Can anyone please help? Thanx
bump, i would appreciate knowing this as well. anyway to get arabic support without rooting or changing rom?
there isn't really something arabic specific for the thunderbolt, but you can download fonts/keyboards to give support.
font wise, download "Mirsal" from Market, then get a keyboard like "Ibrahim Arabic Keyboard". it will help with sms/txt, email, etc...
I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to install the AOSP ICS email and message apps on the GS3?
Or am I going to have to install 3rd parties like goSMS ?
yeah its possible just replace apk -or just install it- :good:
hello, as the title says it has presented me a compilation bug when installing .100 jelly beam because after a while longer recognize the internal memory of the phone so it will not let me install apps that require passing data this location, try changing the external for the internal Volf.tab by editing that file or as I call it but the same problem persisted, I should mention that I use the foldermount not if it will cause some kind of bug, but ICS use for more two months and I never present a problem, would appreciate if anyone could comment something about me just add that this happens in the world unbranded version .100 in custom as xperience or Jbeanz not occur roms.
sorry my bad English but I am using the google translator
Hi all
In the stock Samsung Jelly Bean 4.3 OS I have seen many folks talk about how to use the following option....
Settings - My Device - Lock Screen - Lock Screen Widgets - Favourite Apps or Camera
but I don't have that option on my Galaxy Note 2 at all after updating to Jelly Bean 4.3 (N7100XXUEMK9, which I think is the official version for my Note 2 , living in the UK)
Can anyone else please check if they have the above option on their stock 4.3 installation? I would really like to be able to make use of this feature and loads of people are talking about how to use it so it must be that a lot of people have it on their Note 2.
What I don't understand is the reason why it's not on mine. Is it....
- wrong firmware
- faulty installation (I have tried it twice now)
- simply not meant to be available on UK phones on 4.3
If anyone else with a Note 2 running any of the stock 4.3 versions can check to see if they have it (or not), and what location their firmware is, it would help me out.
Thanks a lot.
Hi, im new in android and i`m looking for how to install new firmware on my android netbook HL-PC1088-HD. Biggest problem i have is keyboard language i want to change it but it`s not working. :crying: Also i change the keyboard for another one with another layout and in fact it`s not the problem with keyboard but in firmware. Can somebody help me how to open recovery mode and install new software?
To flash a firmware other than the stock one you as 1st thing of all things have to install a custom recovery: the stock recovery only allows to flash stock firmware.
Wondering why you don't simply install GBoard - the Google Keyboard?
