A quick question.
Has anyone been able to use the USB OTG feature with Walkman??? I mean I cannot keep my library on the phone as its kinda huge and was thinking of a way to play the songs from the USB. Any update on how to force sync the USB would be appreciated.
(I do not know how android manages storages but when I had a Linux Phone, I just needed to edit the Tracker file with the new Mounted location to have my library synced.... )
Noone Interested in this????? Or noone thinks its possible?

Hello there,
Is there an app that can route the audio output of my android smartphone/tablet to my PC? I was googling and searching this forum for this topic quite some time, but all I found was the other way arround. From PC to android is not that urgent for me, since I mounted all my network files with cifs.ko to my phone. Although there seems to be something called Pulseaudio. To be more specific - as mentioned in the title - I am not looking for a dlna/upnp solution, because there are some situations where this is not working, i.e. the audio output of applications like grooveshark.
Of course there are a lot of remotes out there: unified remote, awarremote for winamp, gsremote for grooveshark and so on. They are pretty awesome, but sometimes it is quite cumbersome to switch the remote app all the time.
Let me describe the situation I have in mind. You are listening to an audiobook on your phone with your beloved audiobook app (audible in my case) and come home. Then you activate the WifiAudioApp and it connects to your PC and the audio is now playing on your pc speakers.
I am no developer, but I think something like this would be possible, if someone could fool android to believe that it paired with an bluetooth speaker set. But in fact it is an app, that puts audio over Wifi to a client programm on your PC (certainly only possible on a rooted phone). Don't know if this is possible.
There seems to be a gadget, which offers something in this direction:

But I am not that interested in video, just audio.
If anyone has suggestions for me, I would really appreciate them.

i'm also have "robo" smartphone and i love listening to music. i have got some mp3-BoomBox which is connected to my Notebook via 3.5mm.
i can listen to music from Android smartphone on notebook via Bluetooth, but also i know that it is possible via wi-fi!
somebody please help us! without any expensive gadgets like ^^^

I'm looking for an app/ method that can do this and I have found two ways to do this so far;
Method 1:
- Create a directory on my computer to be used only for music that I want on my device.
- Select this directory only for Winamp computer program to search for content in.
- Set up any playlists, preferences, titles etc on the computer program.
- Sync to Winamp app on my device.
If you configure the app and program to sync anytime the device is using the same wireless network (wireless syncing is a great feature of Winamp that actually works, unlike Kies) you will have the same music collection available on both your phone and computer.
Method 2:
- Use Gmote app to remotely control the media content on your pc (you need the PC download, too).
This method is very primitive and can only play files as they appear and not playlists however this can be remedied by creating a directory containing only the files you want to play.

Theres a lot of apps out there that let you view your android's camera live (with delay) on your pc.
What im looking for is a way to have my computer recognize my tablet as USB webcam.
The closest thing i found is the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487915 but im hoping this can be simpler and more direct.

For devices that don't have support for USB [OTG or full size] and charging at the same time [Example, Nexus 7], do they have any devices, perhaps bluetooth, or maybe wifi, that you plug in your existing USB hard drive, and you can mount it on your tablet [via bluetooth or wireless], and stream the files like that?
The main purpose would be so you can charge the tablet and access a large hard drive, perhaps for videos, or whatever.
Does anybody make anything like this for Android?
And please do not suggest a "wifi HDD," thanks.
You need to share your HDD over network (using a compatible router or a PC as server) and use any CIFS client for Android (like this).

Oh... then do you need a portable solution? I dunno about that, but surely the only solution is a WiFi HDD (you can access to your HDD remotely, but you will not can stream files this way I think).

I bought recently one of those cheap Mini Android PC (the MK808B) and I am trying to setup an easy/cheap NAS with it so I can see my videos from other devices. This would let me turn off my big energy-sucker desktop PC and leave that light small device doing its job. By the way... I am using the MK808B, but the idea is that any rooted Android device would do it.
Until now the progress is big and I can say it almost works... but that "almost" is why I am here, asking for help.
This is what I have done until now:
In the MK808B I have installed:
- Paragon NTFS&HFS+ (so I can mount any NTFS device, in my case a 32GB FTFS flash drive but this would support any big hard drive) (needs root)
- Droid NAS (a free app that does in theory what NAS do, in theory only accessible from Macs and Android devices although that would still be OK since I want to access to those videos from our phones and tablet)
So, once all this is setup and running, I go to any of my Android devices and try to access. To do so, I installed:
- ES File Explorer (to access my MK808B via my WiFi connection)
- MX Player (to play the videos)
And here is the problem: I manage to access my MK808B, I can get into the mounted flash drive... but when I try to play any of the videos, whatever the format, MX Player gives me this error:
"Video problem"
"Can't play this video"
If I click on an image it opens it, if I try to copy files I can... is just playing videos that doesn't work. Could be accessing them through my WiFi connection the problem? Maybe the MK808B is not reliable enough, WiFi speaking? Should I get one of those USB-LAN thingy?
If you could help me I would appreciate it. And also, I think getting a setup like this working would be very useful for a lot of people, who could access their files from any device while at home

I use BubbleUpNp from the play store across all of my devices.
HTC One X, Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 and an MK809 plugged in the back of the TV. I do have a OTG-Lan plugged into a hub, with 1TB hard drive all plugged into the MK809. I have Finless 1.7 Rom on the TV Stick.
Seems to work well, allowing me to say use my tab to render a movie from my MK809 library (1TB Hard Drive).
Other recommendations for you are Droidmote. Droidmote server on your TV Stick and Droidmote client on your phone, acts as a remote.
XBMC android installed on your TV stick.

Was thinking about the same thing. How to create a cheap NAS with an android device as the core of the system. But i was thinking about a RAID1 NAS. ANy suggestions?
