This is my first post. I have read the FAQ section and I spent some time with the beloved search bar. No luck so far.
I am a noob so I want to say thanks in advance to anyone/everyone willing to evan glance at this post let alone lend a hand..
I have rooted my Samsung Galaxy SII (AT&T) and appears to be working fine until I install any custom rom. When I do so and reboot the phone the boot animation will begin but then hang on both ROM's I have tried.
Ive made sure to create a buckup of my phone after root so both times I just reverted to the backup.
So far I have tried resurrection & AOKP ICS ROM..
I am running 2.3.6..
Feel like Im so close but yet so far.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again.

Have you done a complete wipe prior to flashing? That is usually the problem.

The first boot usually takes a bit of time. How long did you wait? Also, full wipe. Thai should be all you need to do.

How exactly do I perform a full wipe?
I wiped davlin cache with no luck and thats about it.

You need to read more then. Knowing what a full wipe is is a basic necessity of flashing roms

Nick is correct you really need to figure it out as it is necessary for flashing anything.
But in cwm wipe data/factory reset option is the one you need to complete prior to flashing any rom

Assuming you're using CWM Recovery to flash, you should be able to find Wipe Data/Factory Reset option there. If not, you might want to follow this:

May be you can try flashing stock ROM with Odin. you can find stock ROMS in SamMobile.
If since you bought it return it to the seller but try a factory reset first .

Factory reset wipes apps .
Afterwards = after you wiped you install a stock rom .
I suggest you take it to a service centre .

Yes there is, you need to send it in to service centre and have the motherboard replaced.
Didn't you see the brick bug about that rom splashed all over the threads here???

If its the infamous brick bug, which it definitely looks to be, then JTAG is useless.

Most likely if you're on stock 4.0.4.
i just test my device and its say that i have insane chip but memory test PASS without problem. Does its mean that my chip is from "damage line" but its not damage
If I have full stock firmware and kernel, and if I update phone via Kies only, Is there still brick bug possibility if I make factory reset?
Because this is scary and sick if this scenario is possible

You can't flash a rom without a wipe if you're coming from another rom without getting problems.
(Edit: maybe it's possible in some cases, but it's a risk)
About installing the JB-roms: search for yourself, because all the instructions are already written down here on xda.

who said anything about not wipping?
that's a crazy sum that I came up with.
he wanted jb, there he has it.
he wanted to install it, there he has it.
he asks for no wipping - he doesn't know what he's talking about - and then this guy comes along and says Titanium back up for his apps.
when he reads all this he might go like "okay, I gotta start reading more about this".
wouldn't you agree now?

For me personally it wasn't really clear what you meant with your post.
And I agree with your point that the OP doesn't really know what he's talking about, because what he's asking clearly doesn't excist.

With the problems that I reported, what I have to do???

You wanna flash the stock ROM option.
Now....looking at this closely I'm concerned about that "changes the time by itself" thing. Ask her if the device has been in touch with any kind of liquid (coffee, water, drink, etc).

I bought the S2 used.
Came with ICS 4.0.3.
Recently I flashed Omega Rom, why I need to follow the installation of Stock Rom? Because Omega is Sammy based?
So, in your opinion, I need to follow this:
"If you are installing a new STOCK ROM and want to do a Nuke/Wipe then:
1. Reboot into CWM Recovery
2. Install zip from SD card>Run GS2ROMWipe or GS2ROMNuke
3. Reboot into Download mode
4. Install your stock ROM via Odin
5. Re-root your device"
???
You're gonna flash a stock ROM after you wipe. Stock ROMs are great to see if an issue persists because, if it does, you need to start thinking about a hardware issue.
Did you ask her about the water/whatever?

Yes, and she told me that never came into contact with water or liquids.
So, summarizing and concluding, after doing the "[CWM UTIL] GS2ROMNuke/Wipe/Reset/Clean Scripts," I have flashing for example the official 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and then root?
Lastly, view what happens with the phone, right?
Exactly.

The only kernel that I have to root is the Siyah-v3.2b8.
You advise another or this is ideal?
In a few days i´m gonna try your solution... 4 days have passed and the phone has not given problems... weird...
If it's not giving you crap don't flash anything.
You could also flash stock and see how it goes.
Give it 2 weeks.
