so, i friend of mine gave me his i9100 to install a custom 4.1.2 ROM. the phone was totally stock, so i flashed this kernel via ODIN http://download.chainfire.eu/268/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPY-v5.6-CWM5.zip. After that, from the stock rom I entered the CWM app and selected the reboot in recovery. I entered the CWM, erased all data/factory reset, after that I installing the omega rom v20 for sgs2. while the rom was installed the phone suddently shut down, and won't turn on anymore. tried all the combinations of the buttons, even tried the jig, but that didn't worked either. i plugged the phone on computer via usb but nothing happens. also it won't turn on when i put it on charger. any ideas anyone?

you should have done a little bit of reading before. Seems like your phone is bricked. Only solution would be to replace the main board

Could be bricked or could be dead battery. Try charging it for an hour or so.. and then try to put it into download mode.. worth a shot!

Try to get it into download mode after charging it overnight. If you can't, you may need to construct a jig.

I think my GS2 maybe be a goner. On my way home from work my battery was low so I connected it to my car charger as I normally do. Once I got to the front of the house I noticed that it was going crazy with notifications from charger connected to connect charger battery low as if I was pulling the cable in and out. I took of the cable and the phone died. I put in a new battery (I have 3 backup) and since then my phone has been in a boot loop. All I get is the Samsung Galaxy SII boot screen. I have tried almost every suggestion in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318263
I can get into download mode through buttons pressing or jig.
After using the UCKH7 One click and trying to get into recovery I get "Deleting cryption meta data" and then it goes back into the boot loop. I can flash CWM 5.0.2.3 through odin. I have gone into CWM recovery and wipe/data/factory reset. I didn't receive any errors, but still continues with the boot loop.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? This would really suck if it's bricked since i don't have any warranty for it.
Try copying over a cwm backup to your phone that you can restore in cwm.
Worth a chance with everything else seeming not to work.

Shut Guys There is a solution for this !!!! Just make sure you flash back to stock on 2.3.4 (I777UCKH7) and flash the kernel on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367800
it will take a bit to load but this should do it!!
Yup just flash a kernel.

Hi guys, hoping someone can shed a little bit of light on my issue.
Rooted my phone- all went fine!.
Went to install CWM and all i got was the e3 recover telling me:
Failed to verify signature.
Instillation failed.
So after a little bit of messing about i decided to just leave it and continue on with my day. My phone then ran out of battery. I put it on charge without turning it on and came to find the phone in recovery mode with a fully working version of Clockwork MOD, suprising to say the least. I rebooted the phone and then tried to reboot back into recovery mode, and since then my phone wont load normally or into recovery past the samsung logo.
I dont know what to do because although my phone will go into download mode, it will not work with ODIN, i simply get the message "failed to open serial port."
So i have a phone that wont load recovery, wont load normally, and wont let me install kernals etc through ODIN, please someone help me!
Any help would be great, thanks people.
Hi
I'm new here & have been reading many threads in preparation before rooting my phone.
Its sounds like your phone is stuck in a boot loop, if so read this tread & it should help you out. (sorry if i got it wrong)

peace
The above solution will not work for you, because your have no recovery.
How did you root your phone? To summarize:
1. You rooted your phone.
2. You tried flashing CWM (why?)
3. Flashing failed and you have no recovery anymore?
4. Odin does not recognize your phone anymore.
Correct?
Try a different USB cable to make sure it isn't the cable.
Have you stopped kies on your computer before running odin?

I had the same problem get into Cwm the way you'd get into normal Android recovery so hold vol up + home + power then when the boot screen pops up let go for a millisecond then repush vol up + home + power

Your phones only bricked if it wont turn on mate. Relax as its most likely fixable. Do as others have suggested and disable kies as its a pain in the backside. Kies doesnt like odin and will crap it up. Install a kernel like chainfires; get into cwm and wipe everything. Dalvik, cache, system. Get a usb jig off ebay for gs2 if you can as thats helped me out. I only use Siyahs kernel or Chainfires as they are the most stable. Good luck.

I was running the newest SKANK rom, and woke up this morning with it on the galaxy s screen. I pulled the battery, and tried to reboot, but the power button didnt work. it wouldnt boot into recovery either. I tried using odin, but it keeps hanging at either cache, or modem, and wont go any farther... I could really use some advice.
take it apart

hey bro whats up sorry to here that have u tried taken out your battery sim and micro for 5 minutes then putting back your battery only before this you should restart your computer then using a different usb port connect the usb then hold vol up and down same time hopefully download mode right away then you have to check repartition if your using some older version of odin it does not do it for you make sure you have correct files and you should be good odin will only hang usually due to wrong or mismatch pit and tar .... goto development section look for any of FISHMANs work he has plenty of odin images you can easily odin back to a rooted device and not have to go through all those steps in rerooting before any of my steps just make sure you have repartition checked on yes :good: hopefully that gets you some where :good:

Well try to get into download mode with the combo, then reinstall your Samsung drivers, try adding nexus drivers too. Idk much about this but skang, soft brick, and Odin problems caught me cause I run the same ROM.

So I was on Paranoid Android 2.54 and changed to the newest SlimBean ROM in the usual fashion and that went fine but then I flashed SiyahKernel 5.0.1 and my phone would boot, but it would get to the home screen and repeatedly say 'com.android.phone has crashed' and the only thing I could do was turn it off. After I turned it off, I tried booting into recovery and that didnt work (and still doesnt a few hours later). I then tried booting into download mode and using this guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 to recover it, but to no avail. Now the phone won't do anything at all. No recovery, no download mode, no nothing. Plugging the charger in doesn't make a difference either. So my question now is is my phone recoverable?
try a jig.
If it doesn't fly..jtag time.
Try usb jig and yes it is recoverable

Or make your own jig or have it made.
Hello everyone
I have a few years old Galaxy S2 9100 that had the original firmware and rooted. The battery was about 20% and it restarted by itself and was stuck on the Samsung logo. I tried to make it work by no hope. I then tried to enter recovery mode but it gave me an error. I then entered download mode and tried to reflash original firmware through Odin but it was stuck at around 40%. I did it again and same thing happened. After that it was completely dead and won't turn on. I can't enter download or recovery mode. When I connect to computer, it gives nothing. When I plug it into the charger, it becomes hot on the top but nothing appears. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks
Well

Try this:
- Take the battery out
- Fully Charge the battery via any battery charging device
- Place the battery back
And check if it's turning on -=-=-=-=-=-
If yes:
- Check if PC recognizes device i.e. USB port is working now or not
- Go to download mode if it's working and do the odin flashing with fresh files and right settings
- And if it's due to the odin flashing prob from your side, try sideloading custom rom and flash it.
If no:
- Go to service centre
Well, this is just me, maybe wait for other comments too.
Try this:
Find a way to fully recharge the battery. Then, reboot into recovery regardless if it's stock or custom and wipe data completely. Then reboot. It will take sometime but the phone should reboot to factory default. Be patient! If this fails, you need not worry. Just repost here ok

Thanks all for your input. Currently it does not go into recovery. Do you think if the battery is full charged it will?
Try charging the battery. What have you got to lose?

Actually I went to a phone shop and tried a new battery which usually contains some charge and it did not help. I will leave it overnight in the charger and see. Thxs
Try other battery...or try usb jig.
You might want to try a USB jig. It is like a usb flash drive. Its job is to put your phone into download mode. You can order it from amazon for about 3 bucks

I also had the same problem. The USB jig resolved it in 2 seconds

Was it exactly the same problem as mine? I mean dead phone with no response whatsoever?
I tried the USB jig and did not help. Maybe it needs the battery to be fully charged?
