I want to know how can I update HTC Amaze 4G to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update.
Currently it's running on Gingerbread 2.4...
The problem is that the update has come to USA however currently I am in South Asia so I think it has not yet come to my current region and I'm afraid it may never come and would be cancelled in future as it's been long enough already.
Even if it may, I just need to somehow update this to ICS as soon as possible as Sense 3.0 sucks like always...
Please let me know if there is any way for me to "properly" update the smartphone to ICS.
Maybe changing the region to US from the settings will make the update available to me ? If it will please help me how to do that as well.. sorry for being a total noob!... (which I am usually not) ^^

You can root your phone and flash cyanogenmod 9 or 10 on your amaze 4G (they both are available )

But when I install ICS rom from 4ext recovery... the error message "installation Aborted"

bro do this via hboot not via 4ext then install rom via 4ext
istall ics ruu through hboot put ics ruu in external sd card and remane him ph85img.zip

I have sensation XE which is locked to India CID: htc__38
and I wanna have an arabic rom, which i couldnt find any proper RUU for it
coz I like orginal roms
so what im trying to do is to get the official arabic one through htc update
"i want my device to be recognized as original arabic one so it can get the update"
can anybody tell me if i s-off my device, install CWR, then change the CID to the arabic CID which is HTC__J15
does anything happen to my existing rom which is "htc__38", i mean will it stay functioning?
would the mobile boot after I reboot it?
and will i have the official arabic update if i checked for them through the settings??

and what will happen to the S-off and CWR if any official rom where installed?

Sorry if this has been already answered. I tried to search for solution many times and asked in threads of ROM but people give very vague answer. I don't want to risk losing my device and want to stick with easy rooting.
I followed this guide to root my phone: http://androidforums.com/evo-3d-all-things-root/494212-complete-newbies-guide-rooting-flashing-evo-3d-roms-kernels-using-fastboot.html. I installed everything but didn't do S-OFF. One thing I'd like to share is that I did unlocking through HTCdev and also that I run Rogers phone. Currently I'm using kingcobra 2.4 ROM.
So now I wanted to install ICS but I need to install new firmware. I tried to revert back to stock ROM and do ICS update but it'd stop at HTC screen and same thing happened when I tried to install ICS rom.
So I need to install this new firmware for sure, but I have S-ON I think. Now things I need to know and perform I believe are:
S-Off
Install new firmware

Now do I have to do RUU update as well? If so, where do I do that and how do I know what RUU I am running? Also I'm running HBOOT 1.49.0008 because I did unlocking through HTCdev

If I wanted to simply use the Rogers ICS update, how can I get it? Do I still need to S-Off? I did full back up. Please explain very clearly.
you want to go back to stock so you can install the OTA / official ICS rom?
You can dl the RUU from the htc website. Rename it to PC86IMG.zip and let it install in bootloader

I chose original kernel, meaning not installing any. I don't think I need stock ruu now do I?
If someone can find me an easy S-off tutorial, I would be more happy to do that and stick with rooting.
I have spent too much time trying to find a way to update to ICS and I am regretting to root my phone now =[ I can't get ICS either way...
go to htcdev, enter your info and they'll let you dl the ruu for your phone.
i used s-off wire trick , try that for hboot 1.5

When using the RUU do I need to unlock the phone?
If I use the european RUU will the phone OTA update? (live in UK)
If I use the latest RUU does it stop me installing custom roms?

I need a RUU for this version of stock rom with radio 1.10, because I've update my phone via OTA, and that changed my radio and hboot. Now my old RUU for 1.71.1402.4 and radio 1.08 is useless for returning to stock. Also I wasn't carefull and I deleted wrongly my nandroid backup
So, if someone have or find a RUU for last chinese update please tell me where I can get it.
Or if someone have a CWM backup with this stock version I'll take that too.

I have a HTC One X+ which has been updated to 4.2.2 via OTA and got software 2.18.707.5. After that, I have unlocked bootloader, rooted, got recovery and flashed cook roms with a nandroid backup. Since I would like to get back to stock ROM but I have tried many RUU with 1.17 but it's failed certainly. I wonder whether I could downgrade my HOX+ or not to flash a RUU with 1.17. I have tried google it out but cannot find an answer. If anyone know how to downgrade a HOX+ from 4.2.2 to 4.1, please guide me. My HOX+ has s-off already. Many thanks!

hello can anyone helpe soff my htc one max sprint im on 4.4.2 on 6.0 sence hboot 2.49 i cant find a custom rom or kernel for my phone and the ones i have tryed to install did not wotk im trying to soff and sim unlock Can anyone please help i can donate anyone who helps me i been trying to do this sence i got the phone in march i have root and my bootloader is unlocked and s-on HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!
