uummm.... DOH!!!
So, I forgot last night.. you ever done that? I had been bouncing my 9week old daughter for a while and at 12:30am I finally got her to go to sleep. I was playing with my phone... I opened GooManager, and told it to install T.W.R.P. on my Galaxy Note 2 (i605 Verizon Wireless)
But I didn't realize that i had forgotten to unlock the boot loader after last weekend's Rom-a-thon (I put 5 ROMs on my phone then wen't back to stock, then rooted).
Given that I was not un-locked..... My phone went into the Yellow Caution symbol and told me that I had to go to a VZW store, (lol, yeah right!). So I took my phone to my laptop (Dell E4310) on Win8 x64 Ent, Odin3 v3.07 did not see my phone!!! Then to Win 7 x64 Ent, Dual booted dell... FAIL!!! And then to my MSI GX720 Win 7 x64 Pro, FAIL!!
Ok, time to ask the world! I don't know what else to do. Anyone out there with advice please let me know. If i get a solution I will post the steps below...
I went through all the threads i could find about this idea but not actually speaking to this problem. If you know of a solution in another thread please post it here.

It doesn't start to flash because it does not see that i have the device connected, Gets to download mode no issues.
Do you have all the drivers installes? And I know some phones are picky on the cables. So you should be using the factory cable. Aslo try other usb ports.

I do not have the factory cable.. .that disappeared quite a while ago.. I have the drivers installed, and know all of my setup "works" because i am using the same setup i used to do this process the first time, and i have connected this phone to all of my machines with no issues before.
What else?

I am tech support at my job (I work for EarthNetworks/WeatherBug as internal support). I call it MIS proximity, as soon as one of my co-workers breaks down and asks for help their computer starts working... guess i get a taste of that myself today.
Thanks guys for the help.
Wish I could tell the others going to read this that there was a real answer here. But all I did was keep trying different cables/USB ports/restart (oh and hear my gorgeous wife's voice

So I was trying to find information on rooting a non activated SPH-710 (so no internet) and a video I was watching on YouTube showed a guy rooting
a SPH-710 and when he showed how to verify the version, he said I should have Android 4.0.4 and it should also show FF18.
So... when I checked my phone it had 4.0.4 and FH13.
So what the hell is up with that and what direction should I take now?
The reason I am trying to root the phone is to put the VK rom on it because I have the dreaded "charging paused - voltage to high" error message. I read somewhere on XDA that, that may fix the problem.
Your thoughts and advice is much appreciated.
Thank you,
John

I have not tried rooting it yet...
Most of the time I can not get Vista to see the phone. (or 7)
About one out of 40 tries will Kies or windows find the phone.
Actually Kies will see the phone but will not connect to it.
I need to get it going, I hate this ZTE piece of junk.
I ordered a usb port for it but did not know that (actually my wife ordered it)
it was a surface mount port. Out of luck there I guess. Looks too tiny for
me to deal with.
Thanks,
John

Yes, this is a general title, but they only allow me to put so much. I am new to the forum, so please bear with me.
Here's the problem: I connect my phone to my computer and either the driver fails (Samsung USB Composite or MTP) or my computer (finally) recognizes my phone, installs drivers correctly, but when I go to look for files, nothing shows up.
What I've done:
-I'm using the original USB cable that came with my phone and it charges fine
-I've plugged it into all available USB ports
-I've restarted the phone numerous times, taken out the SD card and the SIM card with no luck
-I've uninstalled the Samsung drivers and done the same
-I'm running stock ROM, even flash reset a couple times with the same problem
-I'm running the latest software from Verizon
-I've tried switching USB debugging on and off, only gives me further errors such as that the phone can't recognize the system I'm running with my computer being unable to install the drivers correctly
I have a hunch that the Micro USB input from the phone may be to blame, but I'd like to get an opinion from the forum before I decide to send it to the store to get it replaced or fixed. It also could be just a bad ROM flash, but again I'd like to get an opinion before I absolutely have to do so.
EDIT: I apologize, I'm running Windows 7 by the way.
i am going though this right now too. I just stopped working tonight worked for the past 3 days
When mtp is the problem I've yet to find and answer. It's something to do with your computer I just can't recall right now. I researched it once because I had a that sane problem. Never did fix it. If they are both on a wifi network you can use airdroid it works great, that's what I ended up doing.

It could just be the latest firmware. It's still a new phone, and I'm sure Samsung/Verizon haven't fixed all the bugs yet. What OS do you run? I run W7, but it's dual booted on my iMac, and the Mac side doesn't work either.

On my s3i had this issue also on w7 and w8. So I would just not to recovery and transfer files, but that does not help those that are not rooted.
Currently my pc boots win8 and Linux, so I just use Linux when it comes to doing anything with my devices.

Hey guys. I posted in the Jailbreak thread but didn't get any response. I need help unlocking my bootloader. Here is where I'm at:
My Windows Vista PC sees my phone and Android ADB. The Galaxy Note Toolkit sees my phone. Casual does not. It just sits at "disconnected" and won't let me do anything.
I have disabled every pierce of AV and MSE. I tried every USB port. I have rebooted both phone and PC in varying combinations.
I am a n00b to the GN2 but I'm quite experienced in modding. I am just having problems getting Casual to work.
Please help?
Did you try with another cable?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
Try unplugging all your USB devices and using a different cable. When using casual I had to uninstall the Sammy mobile device drivers for it to work.

Did that. I tried 2 different Samsung data cables, still nothing. Even did a factory reset since my PC once had an error that my Android ID was missing and I can't check for software updates, thought maybe something went weird with the phone setup. Still nothing.
So I know the drivers are there, I know the data cables are good and I know the ports are working. All AV is shut down. Where is the roadblock here?
On a related note: When I tried to use the connection help on Kies, Kies told me my device wasn't supported. Could that be a part of what I'm running into?
Since VZW has to have their hands in every aspect of things they locked the use of kies. I haven't found a way to get it to work yet. Don't remember if kies air works but that wouldn't help the issue.
This is confusing, the next thing I would try is flashing stock with the .pit file and trying again. Or it could be a java issue since the CASUAL exploit is written in java, that seems more likely to me. In Adam Outlers thread for CASUAL he linked a java checker. Try that and make sure your good with java

What about this:
When I connect my phone to the PC, it initially shows up as an installer. I then have to go in to change it to a MTP device.
Could that be causing this somehow?
It could be. Make it a media device and retry everything. If that doesn't work then find the bay where pirates hangout and get win7 on your computer and retry it. I've only ever rooted on win 7 and win 8

I had this problem too. I had to unlock the hidden menu and set the phone as MTP + ADB to get CASUAL to properly recognize it.

So I had root and a customer recovery. I flashed back to stock because I was bored and wanted to clean things up.
Now when I go to root using casual, it errors out saying it can't transfer the PIT file. OK no biggie. I go to Odin the recovery image and that errors out too saying the NAND write failed. Hmmmm...well I left CWM recovery, so I try to boot into that. I get a NAND error there too. Ruh Roh.
So I can't flash using Odin or Casual. How do I fix this?

Im not that knowledgeable on the downgrade but pda net is a app that uses your phone data to give you internet on your computer the main reason is that it installs the drivers on your computer with out searching or worrying that is a bad file
