As was said, it's possible to relock, but it will indicate on the bootloader that it was 'relocked'. There's no way around that.

I'm planning to get the DNA first thing tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knows when htcdev might remove support for unlocking.
I read that the Incredible 4G had support originally and then they removed it.

Apparently someone just tried it and it didn't work, so they might have just blocked it. I hope this isn't the case, but it might be.

You may have to click on other devices when choosing a phone to unlock on htcdev

I received my phone this morning and get and CID error when trying to unlock it on the htcdev site. There is a fake CID method for some other htc phones but I am afraid to try it.
Can someone who has successfully done this post exactly what they did to get it to work on the htcdev site? I'll be pissed if it's blocked now.

Hopefully someone will make a way to do it now... I would really like it to just be stock HTC no at&t stuff and to be able to update with the HTC software and not have to worry about at&t approving it

I am debating similar question too, trying to decide which of the following I should flash/wait to flash
1. Developer Edition (support by HTC directly, but so far stuck on 4.12)
2. International Stock Rom (support by HTC directly, has 4.22, not sure if OTA will work even with SuperCID or correct CID since we are in US?)
3. Nexus Edition (support by Google, which means updates will be fast and furious, but no Sense 5)
I know SuperCID will let you whatever rom you want, but will OTA work with superCID? or we need to set CID to match the rom for OTA to work?
S-Off'd and successfully RUU'd the Developer Edition on my AT&T One!

Has anyone noticed any issued with the dev edition rom running on at&t or is it all in my head? I feel like my reception is weaker (at least it shows weaker) Do they run a different algorithm for service than at&t?
Go to settings and look at signal strength. Bars lie..
I'm using an unlocked AT&T HTC One X+, will I be able to get the new update when it is released? How do I do that when it comes out? The 4g icon is displayed even tho mobile network is off, is it still draining my battery?
That's all I ask.... Anyone, thank you.
When it comes out their will be custom Roms which is the easiest ticket.
If you are on another network than ATT then you will not receive it.

If you can find any other way to do that, be my guest.
How do I turn S-On to S-Off because there two pre-requirements to install Elegancia ATT/TELUS OneX+ V6.1.0, one is by flashing the kernel flasher or having S-Off. I wanted to have the S-Off because by having the S-Off I don't have to flash the kernel flasher. I wanted to do that instead because when I download the kernel flasher it wont show up in my download folder(Where I download the file) and i'm having problems with the file on my computer.
S-off is currently not possible for the One x+,but there is a thread which is discussing s-off

Thats why your phone is bricked. When dealing with Android especially you should never just try something for the hell of it.

haha honestly im not even sure if its considered bricked. i know what the problem is, and normally its fix able, but not on my device. pm me if youre really curious haha
I will be getting mine tomorrow and will be rooting. I am looking at the guide stickied here to Download the SU and CWM..etc. Question about the bootloader first. It says go there..select all supported devices. However above it says all phones shipped after 9/11 will come unlocked. So can I skip this part and just get into the root?
I would suggest not using CWM but rather TWRP.

original question still stands though, does the HTC one Max come unlocked? or do I need to do that first step to unlock.
You have to unlock. I did it thru HTCDev then I rooted and then did Rum Runner to get s-off.

Unless I missed something rumrunner has always only bootloader unlocked the verizon model. You have to already be unlocked (htcdev) for other models.
Please keep the model difeferences in mind when you comment.

Your first comment leads everyone to believe rumrunner will *bootloader* unlock their phone. Only the verizon version is unlocked that way. He didnt mention what version he was on but when you make blanket statements like that people incorrectly assume it applies to all versions.
