that means they stole it? i dont know how the kernel work is but why did they make a flashable file out of it when the important stuff dosent work.
Odp: Another 3.1 kernel what is this?
It's hard to steal something that is free I guess they are very impatient, so they built something not finished.
blttalas can you give me the original link? I mean the forum post

Not every ZIP in the world is flashable...
Did you even bother to look inside?
It's just source code.

yea sry for the misunderstanding because of a friend told me that a atrix kernel is on the chinese forum i told him to keep his hands off. Because he thought it was a flashable zip. I thought it was a flashable because my friend can read asia language and me not
i am not a dev or interested in kernel development so No. i didnt look inside because i dont bother to use something that i cant read where it comes from.

Hi, yesterday I checked the chinese website and it's just a MIUI ROM based on Epinter CM10. I assume it will have the same bugs, but the UI is MIUI. There is no progress, from chinese developers, on the 3.1 kernel.

Please, could anyone tell me how to install a theme in my Arc?

Another Silly Billy.
Hmmm. Should be pretty easy to answer that.
Step 1) Go to XDA SE Xperia arc forum. From there, go to the Xperia arc Themes and Apps sub-forum.
Step 2) Find a theme you like.
Step 3) Read the instructions in the FIRST POST. (Fancy that, the OP gave the info in the first thread itself. It's a miracle!)
Step 4) Download the theme.
Step 5) Follow the instructions given to the T.
And now you can thank me for such a helpful post. LOL!
Umm... maybe he talks about a theme (You know, theme like Onyx, Fluorite, etc) in new firmware?

Then maybe they should state that.
Are there any new themes, or any tutorials on how to make them, for the new firmware yet?

Ok, anyone else then? Any new SE themes for the new firmware, or any info on how to make one?
Not that I don't like the Onyx one, but it would be nice to have others too.

If you are on the new fw then there are several built in. AFAIK you cannot add new ones yet.
Either use one of the built in ones or use your eyes and scan this board for themes, there are a few for the newest fw.
You just need root and something to copy the files over.
This is the problem, my boot-lock piece of ****, can not gain access to the new firmware(no Root), so i cant update, well i could i update it, but i wont be able to use it lol.
I think a lot of people are in the same heart-breaking situation as i am.

Hahahaha. He got you there mate.
Evasiveness is fun.
Seriously though, I am just used to the theme whereby you have to force it in, as opposed to the new 'themes' Sony have provided. Not really themes though are they, bit of a half arsed attempt.

Who said that the official version has been released? I checked that link, all CM7 s there are old ones belong to 2011, no new version (the latest one's add date is 2011-10-09 23:42:29). I dont think they are official and ultimate versions. Please, dont misinform people.

So its better to wait for a while for more stable, bugfree and more featured versions. For now, I'm really good with Trent's AOS1.
Close! I figured it out for myself.

Well considering the files required for their specific device. They need to download the vendor files and run an extracting script with their phone connected. I think I might just make a guide for the device I'm using.

Create your own flashable rom with
Custom-rom-creator-studio
I found this a few days ago: custom-rom-creator-studio
It's a tool for making custom roms. I made one rom (from stock XKTM), it looks like a real flashable rom, but I have a little fear, I do not want to harm my device.
I put this thread to General, because I don't know if this tool is good for our Ace. Can a dev look into it, and say something: is it safe to use. If the answer is yes, I think we have a great tool!
You have to download crcstudio_1.2.0.0.zip, extract it, than download tools_r1.zip, and extract tools_r1.zip in the same directory, where you extract crcstudio, into a folder named tools.
I tried it but made my brain hurt when I started modifying in Explorer.

That's an awesome concept..but I think I'm a bit skeptical of any level of technical ability being able to toss out a ROM that would probably be more likely to brick my phone. I like that certain things are mostly done by experienced devs.

Go Trough a bit of trouble? It is stated on the OP! -_-
1. rename your unsigned zip file to "update.zip"
2. execute "sign.bat", wait for completion
3. "update-signed.zip" is your signed rom file
