[Q] S.onyTablet.S [ALLinONE] - Stuck on Restore my data - Sony Tablet S

Hey,
I can't seem to find anything relating to my issue on the site already, so here goes!
I'm using the AIO rooting tool from Condi for my Sony Tablet S. I get to the point of clicking 'Restore My Data' on the device, and then nothing happens... the tool just stays on this step and doesn't do anything unless I cancel the process.
Anybody experienced the same issue, or know what the cause may be?

[Q] cant root 1.5 or update

This is a friends phone and I can't get the one click app to work. It says there arent any system updates available but that the system is up to date.eek. I don't know what else to do, so i have pasted a copy of the firmware, etc., hoping maybe someone would be able to tell if it has been rooted before and not properly restored. He bought it used. I tried to go to recovery...nothing. I tried fastboot and it said something up at the top that really caught my eye.......desirec. Ain't that Shadowrom. when i would run the bootload it would run down through the images then say wrong image or something. No success. Is there any hope?

Go over to the Eris-All-Things-Root forum on androidforums.com and use the "Universal Root for Dummies" method. It works on 1.5.

Need help with bin4ry's process

Hello
I have tried to root my tablet by using bin4ry's but it comes out as shown in attaches images
my tablet is on 4.0.3r1a with kernel#10
anyone has any idea i should do ?
thanks for answering me
Whatever you do, dont use v14 as it has many bugs. Use v13
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda app-developers app
I'm having the same issue even though I signed the VpnFaker.apk myself. Stuck without root..
Check out page 3 of the FAQ thread for rooting, I'm having basically the exact same issue, but stifilz is giving me hope that it is rootable, just will take some messing around.

You followed this.....
Open "ZipSigner 2" on your tablet.
Press the "Input" button and browse /sdcard/VpnFaker_unsign.apk
Press the "Output" button and save it as /sdcard/VpnFaker.apk
Key/mode select "platform"
Press "Sign the file"
Not the picture right?? That confused me when I was doing it (terrible screenshot) LOL
I used V11 and didn’t do anything for VpnFaker.apk.
It was all automatic (almost). Except terminal emulator.
Did you install this to tablet?
When you start script, terminal emulator must show up (on the tablet) and type 2lines by instruction (ignore errors).
Then it’ll work.
Well I've also tried, I think, everything; using different versions of the automated script, doing the process manually, resigning VpnFaker.apk, yet still, no success. I have a Turkish tablet, but had changed it to US using condi's tool before rooting it on HC. Any thoughts?

I have follow your step but I wonder where I have to put a new VpnFaker.apk ? , I mean in bin4ry there is 2 .rar files and one include VpnFaler.apk, so am I have to extract it and replace old VpnFaker.apk with the one I am resign it ? or what I have to do with the new VpnFaker.apk I have resign it ?
@stifilz
I have follow your step in the FAQ thread and also do a VpnFaker.apk thing, and it comes out like it shown in the attached images
still no superuser but it have terminal emulator.
can should I do now ? any ideas ?
thanks
I am lost it should work. Grrr.
I fell your fustration, I have been there.
All I can suggest is factory reset. Then resign vpnfaker then try again. I cant remember exactly how I did it..... but now it works first time every time

Ditto with me to, I have tried to resign the vpnfaker and replace as well multiple times, tried all the automated scripts, reset each time, tried manual way multiple times, no luck.

OK Try this.
Do the factory reset and install terminal emulator only (forget the VpnFaker.apk).
Command prompt – type “adb devices”, device number should come up. Leave it open.
If it doesn’t, need to install correct adb driver.
Then run the script and follow instruction. Need to reboot few times till terminal emulator show up (on the tablet) and type 2lines by the instruction (ignore the errors).
Then it’ll work.

Check your software version. If it ends in 11c then it will not work. You need to LGNPST to version ending in 10o first, then you can root.

1. Check Software Version: Has to be E97010o
2. Read the sticky under Rooting.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006946
3. Follow the instruction to the letter !
4. Check the comm. between the PC and phone. Most of this are due to cable issue, driver not setup correctly/wrong version, adb problem etc.
5. Knowing ADB commands is extremely helpful.
If you find any problem rooting follow this entire thread:

"Security error"

Could someone help me with this issue?
I unlocked the bootloader of my p768 a while ago, and then I sent it to the carrier service, because it was having some signal problems.
I read that, once you unlock your bootloader, you can't lock it again, so, when I got it back, it was kind of restored and today I tried to flash Clockworkmod (.img file) and when I tried to reboot it, it said "Security Error", I followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470248
And when I connected the phone to the computer, and it says that the device already has the most recent version.
What do I do? Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi @speakerstick
You need to update the recovery in the LG mobile support tool and then it should work.
Look in the top right screen and select "Support Tool Options Menu" and then select "Upgrade Recovery"

Are you using the stock cable? If not, do so.
Have you made sure nothing else (NOTHING ELSE BUT THE NECESSARY) is connected to the other USB ports? Unplug stuff.
Do you have the drivers needed? Uninstall, redownload, reinstall.
Have you tried on another USB port?
Do you have any idea, based on the logs the program generates, about what might be wrong?
I've done it! I finally was able to do it. I uploaded it with the battery, I know the guide says you shouldn't but it worked, now... Does anyone know how to re-root the device? I unlocked the bootloader a while ago and then I sent it to service, but how do I "root" the phone again?
Thanks!

Firmware request: 32.0.A.6.200 for Z5C Nordic Combined Customized NOBA

Hi all,
Marshmallow is giving me all sorts of problems, but the major one is that people can't hear me while on the phone after the latest OTA update. Battery life was also significantly better on LP, and the phone felt snappier in general than it does on MM, so I would like to go back.
My phone was sold in Norway and was not locked to a carrier, but I have no idea which ROM version is used - I assume Nordic Combined.
I have been able to download 32.0.A.6.200 Customized SG and Customized AU, but the R*G numbers are different from the one available for Nordic Combined - does this make a difference? Can I use one or the other of the ones I already have downloaded and just make things work?
If I need the Nordic Combined Customized NOBA version, I'd be delighted if someone has a copy stored somewhere and would be willing to offer a download link.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, found this thread through google. Is this the official Z5C 32.0.A.6.200 version? I'm looking to upgrade to last lollipop before MM and this is what I found. I also would like the Nordic one but I want the stock rom so that I can just upgrade like it was an OTA. I don't need any add ons or root or anything like that. Have I come to the right place?

Hi Anthraxiousness,
Did you follow the guide on xperiablog, linked to above, in full? Have you installed all of the drivers as described there? And have you enabled 'USB debugging' on your phone? IIRC you must enable developer mode on your phone by tapping 'build number' 7 times in the 'about phone' settings. USB debugging is then available under 'developer mode' settings.

Hey, yes of course. One thing that stood out was when I installed Z5C drivers from flashtools. One of the Sony ones had a message "Not needed (no device connected)" or something. I tried twice but same nessage. Still ticked green tho. Could that be it?
Everything else was just as the guide said.
EDIT: Here's the one driver that didn't install:
Sony Net (03/19/2015 6.0.6000.16511) Not needed (No device for update present)
As I said, it was still ticked green alongside the other Z5C driver. Also installed Flashmode and Fastmode drivers.

According to this the device should be in flash mode and LED should be green. Mine stays orange (like it's just charging) and it says "Safe Mode" on the bottom left of the screen. How do I get into flash mode if not with Vol Down + USB? Tried several times but same result. Is there something that needs to be enabled in the phone?
Yes, you should enable 'USB Debugging' under Developer options
Also see here
Okay, finally getting around to doing this after the phone was in for service after the microphone problem got worse and worse, to the point where nobody could hear me.
So, do I add everything from the .7z file into the .ftf I create in Flashtool, or should I exclude the .ta files?

Now to find a way to get the latest updates for 6.200, but not get the MM update notice back...
