Problem with LCD Density - HTC Droid DNA

Hey guys, so I have Viper Rom and I used the LCD Density settings to change to 320 DPI. I like how it looks a lot better, except for a few things. The lock screen is off centered. This is tolerable, but if it can be fixed I'd like to fix it. Also, I was able to resize all my icons except for the dock icons, that look cropped by default, the cropped version just gets bigger. I would like it to look like the original icons. Of course a fix would be to go back to 480 DPI, but I like how it looks and would like to keep it if I can fix these minor problems. Thanks guys!

Nova launcher lets you change dock icon size.
Also 320 is A bit too much imho. Try using 400 and flash multi dpi play store

Apex allows you to resize too, just the icons look zoomed in. And I'll try lowering it. Anything about the lockscreen too? That is the only other problem I have with it. Thanks

LCD Density

I've been changing the LCD Density of my phone but I can't quite figure out which is the best, im just trying to combat the evil pentile screen, any suggestions?

I run mine at 200 with android overclock and using adw launcher i have edited the grid to get more apps on each screen...

So dropping the density works better for you? Thinks look less pixelated when I raise the density, maybe it's just me
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App
Raising the density is lowering the resolution. Lowering the density is raising the resolution. By dropping to 200 I have basically upped my resolution, so to speak, and my app icons are smaller... I then had to be able to edit the default grid for my apps and widgets to be able to effectively use the increased screen real estate... I am therefore able to have 8 apps across my screens and another 8 down, if I so wished. I do not have 8 down because with ADW Launcher I get home screen rotation back so there is only so much I can put on the screen in portrait that will actually fit in landscape... Check out the screenshots below bro...
I Got My Density At 215, I Tried 200 And It's Just Too Small For Me Cuz When I Try Tapping On A Link Or Anything For That Matter I Had To Be Dead On. It's All A Matter Of Preference To What Ya Like.
I noticed lowering the density screws up navigation. It doesn't follow you on satellite view. Slight deal killer for me.

Really... I haven't noticed that, but then again I haven't had to use the nav in the last few weeks... But I have used the nave with the LCD density change.... I was using LCD density app and not android overclock tho... Maybe that's the difference???

Yeah man, I tried changing the views, and it still wouldn't follow. It just stayed on the same spot. When I switched the density back, all was good...
It sucks too, because my screen looked way sharper IMO. However, I use navigation too much to not have it work as I like...

With ADW Launcher pro... Look for it in the market... It lets you edit how many columns and rows of apps you have on the launcher and in your app drawer!! I couldn't deal with blur so this has helped me get over not having CM....

[Q] WidgetLocker themes too small

I've tried quite a few WidgetLocker themes, but they all appear too small...I think it's because they're made for HDPI devices.
Is there any way I can resize them or something like that?
Long press on the sliders to resize them.

Try lowering the number of 'blocks' that appear on widgetlocker config. Try something like 4x4 or so.

Tried that, it just shows like it's changing the size of the grid that surrounds the slider, but the slider itself remains small, if you know what I mean..

That's where I got the sliders from, but they don't seem to work well. Can you please try out the MNML Gradient one? (First one) If it seems the right size on your phone, I'll know I've screwed up somewhere
I'm getting the same issue
Just that I'm running it on my Galaxy S running 4.0.3
I'm having the same issue. I'm on the HTC one X and i think the theme is just not made for such a high resolution device. The unlock circle is much too small. update sorely needed!

for those with tsf launcher...

Does tsf have re-sizable widgets? I like having pictures of my newborn but I like to resize the dimensions.
This is the only thing I'm waiting for...
really... 191 views and not one reply...
I haven't seen a option to resize widgets...I know that would be nice..and hide icon labels
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Unfortunately you cannot resize the widgets, hopefully it will be included in an update. I'm still using go launcher but keeping an eye on tsf.
In that in and out sidebar there's a density option, I think that might help. I could be wrong but try it out.
Sent from my Fingers!
No resizing widgets or real custom option as others have mentioned.
It doesn't let widgets overlap each other, but it seems to let icons overlap things.

its not worth the money believe me,,,widgets are not resizeable,,,,and changing lcd density will not work...im sure once more updates push through they will have these options,,,,i found a copy,,ties it,,looks ok, but not any customization at all...

Not to mention horrible customer support. I can not get them to reply to me for anything! I bought the app, and have used it for 2 days now, buyers beware (YOU WILL REGRET IT!)
I'll be taking a 2nd look at TSF once they implement resizable widgets as well as scrollable widgets. Other than that, really loved what I see.

"resizable widgets as well as scrollable widgets" both these things are included in the latest update.
resizable widgets was actually included in the update before this one.

Yep their newest update was today and it looks like they did add scrollable widgets which is cool but damn 16 bucks is alot to spend for a launcher that still seems like its in beta but what the hell I just got paid guess ill take the plunge seems like they are making improvements with each update

Lots of functionality to choose from and pretty stable too. My biggest beef is no landscape. However, I'm not sure why because I never use landscape unless I'm typing, which is certainly not in the launcher.

Yea thats the only downside but Im sure itll probably come in an update soon hopefully lol I did d/l it tho and its a nice launcher just got to learn a different way of doing things only real problem I have is if I long press the home screen it force closes it which sucks not a huge problem tho
Yeah you can resize Widgets and change the density of the apps
Edit: totally worth $16- it's butter smooth not once is there lag. It used to slightly lag at 213 density but after a recent update its silk. The best part is resizing apps and Widgets because at 213 everything can get tiny as hell. And there is landscape mode you have to manually change it.
Although this might seem like a flaw its due to tthe fact that tsf is not limited to a grid size- rather an infinite plane of room on a homescreen to put apps and whathaveyou
Totally worth the purchase

[Q] DPI and battery life

Hi
I've seen a few threads regarding dpi. But aside from aesthetics in the way of smaller icons and what not does lower the dpi have any effect on battery life?
And is there any way to change the ppi on the display like we can do on computers with resolutions? I'd like to have 320 ppi because anything beyond that I won't even be able to tell the difference.
It doesn't affect battery life at all. It just changes the sizes of things.
And no, you can't change the ppi, it is a fact of the hardware. And 'changing' the resolution on a computer is like changing the dpi on the phone.

If you lower the dpi the icons get smaller.

What he is saying is that if you lower the resolution (like on a pc for example from 1920x1080 to 1440x900 it will cause the desktop to stretch therefor causing this images to get bigger)
A lower DPI is like increasing the resolution, all of the icons and layouts will get smaller, fitting more on a screen, but doing so will not enable you to fit more icons on the home-screen unless you use a custom launcher where you can change the grid size.

Setting background/lock screen in 4.2.2

Few questions about setting my backgrounds. I just installed the super nexus Rom. First, I can't figure out how to set a lock screen picture at all. It's just transparent to my home screen pic.. can't figure how to do it separate. And second.. I can't figure out how to set a stationary full size background. I have a portrait style picture that I want as my backgrounds but any way I try it forces me to crop it and zooms in on the picture way too far.
Thanks

im not on this rom so not sure if that is a good answer for you......but in most roms im assuming it would be under settings>customization or rom control>lock screen>background. from there there should be some options like fill color, custom image and default wallpaper.
you can use QuickPic to choose a wallpaper and crop it o how you like and you can use a launcher like Apex or Nova and uncheck wallpaper scroll.

your on supernexus dont expect cm type features its meant to be an AOSP feel, as for cropping thats also part of aosp haha and many other roms... but a way around that is to either use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...50YW1hbmVnaS53YWxscGFwZXIubXVsdGlwaWN0dXJlIl0.
or
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...S50d2lzdGVkYXBwcy53YWxscGFwZXJ3aXphcmRyaWkiXQ..
both apps can apply full wallpapers without the need to crop
I'm realizing that super nexus is super basic, huh.
Haha yeah maybe I'll take a look at the other roms. For now wallpaper wizardry did the trick along with magic lock app but kind of unnecessary.. :/
