Hello,
I've had my Samsung galaxy SII for about a year now and I've never rooted my device.
After the Jelly bean update (which I installed through kies) my unbranded phone got simlocked.
I sent it out to be repaired, and a few days later I got the reply that I had to pay 290 euros because my device had been rooted and that voided my warranty. I also won't get my phone back if I don't pay 40 euros. I think the company rooted the phone to void my warranty. Is there a way to prove this?
Thanks in advance
You not

Hi all,
I got my S2 from T-Mobile UK and have rooted the phone and also installed another firmware on it.
I've also unlocked the phone so it can be used on any network (as I was promised it would be when I bought it, but it wasn't)
If I wish to move back to stock ICS before I sell the phone, must I install a T-Mobile rom or can I install the Samsung release
If I do any of these will the phone remain unlocked to be used on any network
thanks in advance

go to galaxy sIII forum..
find out the rooting method for it..
get any custom ROM.. It'll remove all carrier-bounds!
Straight from my U8800PRO..
Current ROM: ShenDu OS-121227-DEV [Android 4.1.2 (JB)] with cuvetto's framework.jar

Hi Friends,
Recently i got my new i777 (Samsung Galaxy S2 AT&T model ) and while flashing the slimbean rom via cwm from a stock kernel got my i777 (Samsung Galaxy S2 AT&T model ) hard bricked. Guess what i never thought that my device could even get this worse. More over as it was hard bricked ( as it looked completely dead ), i live in india so no device warranty or support was found from Samsung officials. So thinking that i would get my deivce jtag from the professionals, but after approaching three of them, they all said that my device could not be jtag as its BootIc is corrupted. So the jtag option is also out of reach. So i am asking is can the SOC or motherboard can be repalced by new one to get my device ressurected. Any professional advice is appreciated. Thank you guys for reading this. And by SOC i meant to say this ( look in the attachments ).

No if it was done properly.
I would also try to find out what they installed on the phone because if they rooted it like you said they could have installed anything on your phone (don't want to scare you) the Chinese app is probably nothing to worry about but just be careful rooting your device gives access to everything on your phone.
