I have severe drain its been like this since I got it.
100% to 70% after light web usage on lowest brightness. In only 3 hours about 1 hour screen on tops.
Restart phone and its instantly on 25% restart again and its on 13%
This is with stock cm10.1 kernel and underclocked and uv dorimax kernel.
Every time it always happens.
Tried wiping battery stats and resetting fuel gage to no avail.
Even trickle charge didn't help.
Any tips on gonna replace the battery with an extended one but if this is happening there's no point.
My atrix 4g had tons more life compared.

My battery has horrible life. I'm rooted running evil fascination and have done all the things that typically help with battery life such as disabling gps and wifi, and lowering brightness. In fact my brightness is currently as low as it gets and my battery use shows my display as 99% of my current usage. Even though I just took my phone off the charger 15 minutes ago and it's already at 85%. I know my screen can't possibly have taken that much battery so fast. It also takes about 4 hours to charge from zero to 100 because it's draining so fast. Can anyone give me some advice? I downloaded an app that shows my current mah or whatever but I don't know what that means. I notice when it's at 270mah my battery drains fast which is most of the time but a few times it has been at 2 mah and it doesn't drain fast then.
sounds like a rogue app keeping your phone/screen running when off.. I had the same problem a while ago, 96% screen usage and taking 6 hours to charge then draining to zero in an hour and a half.. unfortunately the only thing that fixed it for me was a complete data/cache wipe and reflash of the rom, I think I was on superclean 2.9.2 at the time.. could be the battery being wonky also, you might wanna look into the battery calibration app on the market or wiping batt stats in CWR

I have had at&t atrix for 2 months or so, i usually take good care from batteries. I charge the phone every night and I calibrate the battery on every rom install.
The calibrating app always reports 4200 and 100% charge.
Well sick of my poor battery life, i left the phone on my room(good signal) with full charge. It only lasted for 35h. It only had google sync on. No gps, no bt, no wifi, no screen ..... I only turned the screen on the last %5 just to check battery stats. most % was from "phone functions"
I am running aura rom with latest faux's kernel undervolted and underclocked(~900mhz).
Should i get a battery replacement? i live in europe so warranty is not an option for me.
Atm i'm going back to stock gb kernel to give it a try, but i don't think it's the problem
EDIT:
Sorry, I have no idea how I came up with 3 days. My mistake.
Leaving it overnight takes about 30% battery, even if I am using night powersave mode

EDIT: Nevermind, I read it wrong. I have completely misinterpreted the timeframe. I apologize.
Again, sorry about that. Let's try again.
Have you tried the method here:

Also, sometimes you have to let the battery drain completely until it shuts off, then charge it completely before even turning it on, and then calibrate. Even after that you should allow it to go through a couple charge cycles before you get a more accurate reading.

I bought an extended battery on ebay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/EXTENDED-BA...Accessories&hash=item4cf994fb1f#ht_655wt_905 you should do so, with a heavy usage I get normaly 2-3 days of battery life with CM7 beta 2, it's very impressive.
So I have just flashed the CM7 ICS Themed BETA, wiping everything.
I then charged to 100 percent, and used Battery Calibration app.
I have just setup some apps, and I have lost 10% battery life in 40 minutes
Display is using 85% battery life apparently.
Please help?
It can take up to a week to fully calibrate the battery. Since the battery doesn't have memory the phone has to get a feel for how much juice it actually has. Try it for a few days running the battery down and then charging it to full without unplugging. If that doesn't work you might want to try charging all the way then reflashing and immediately do a calibration.

Yeah, I'd calibrate the battery - wouldn't hurt.
Ideally always flash on a 100 % full battery to avoid problems like yours..

Cheers guys I've taken this all on board.
I'm on 13hrs on battery, its showing 16pc. Battery calibration app shows 3609mv however. This doesn't seem right to me. Am I correct in assuming the phones battery power is the mv listed and no battery is more like 100mv??
Could anyone explain the 'mv' term to me?
Is 0mv when it powers down? Is this indicative of power?
Thanks.
Lithium ion batteries never fully discharge. If they did the battery would not recharge again.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
mv referers to mV, as in Milivolt. Most li-ion batteries are rated at 3.7V or 3700mV. A nominal full charge should be around 4.2V or 4200mV.

That's 35 minutes of active use. 10% isn't outside the realm of the possible.
I usually can go a full day on 60% battery, but this morning Facebook, the interwebs and text messaging put me from 100% to 77% in the course of 30 minutes. Draining 10% in 45 minutes does not seem out of the realm of possibility
I get mine to last around 20-26 hrs on a single charge, of course depending on use. but i hardly leave the house and dont use it a whole lot. One thing to make sure of is setting up profiles on SetCPU and/or undervolting. i just posted my setup on another thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20284361&postcount=28
so after you clicked the battery calibration button and it said calibration successful, you're wondering why the battery is dropping so fast under use right away?
Easy answer my friend, when you first use the battery calibration app, the first cycle (when phone is being used) will always drain a lot faster than the 2nd and 3rd time around.
The battery calibration app, wipes the battery stats, and makes a new one, however that does take at least 1 - 2 times of a full charge/discharge of the battery. There is a battery tread in the atrix general forum i believe for cailbration steps, etc to go about successfully doing a complete calibration when flashing from rom to rom.
Hope this helped
Hmm, maybe I am just upset that I have to charge every night.
Coming from a BlackBerry 9780 I could go 2 days with semi-heavy use.
I am now using the official Motorola cable, and only charging from very low to full.
Thank you for the advice.

Try getting one of these:
4800mah extended battery
1900mah extended battery
Problem Solved.
Bluetooth radio was killing my battery. WiFi is fine leaving it on as it disables in stand by, but bluetooth was absolutely draining everything.
thanks for the update
I agree, 10% loss in 40 minutes of active usage is not bad. If the OP had better battery life before he flashed to new ICS themed CM7 beta rom, maybe the new rom is to blame??? I'd OC/UV, possibly with the latest faux123 kernel.

Thanks for the tip!!!
Hey guys,
I have had my Galaxy S2 for over a year now. I have not always had great battery life but I blame that on my providers ****ty 3G connection.
My longest battery life I had on Hydra h2o ICS rom and that was about 2 days with 2.5h screen time. Those were the good old days.
Now I'm on Vanilla RB with the DorimanX kernel and am getting a little concerned if my battery could be failing me.
I have tried for some time now to get stable, good battery life on the JB ROMs and it doesn't seem to be working. This is my case:
I charge my phone at night and use it over the day. The past weeks my phone has really been heating up and the battery is draining to near-zero levels within 2 hours of screentime. For instance I was playing a game the other day for about an hour on and off and lost 70% of my battery. The thing is that when the battery drains this quickly it always seems to slowly increase as the day goes by and if this happens, the phone can hang for an hour or two on the last 2%.
This I find really strange and have tried numerous times recalibrating the battery and doing cycles and everything I have thought of. I don't have any strange wakelocks that can explain this drainage.
For instance my phone completely died on me this morning after rebooting it at 50% and it booted up with 1% left. I then took the battery out and waited a couple of minutes. In the process I checked the battery out and it smelled strange. I also thought i noticed a slight bulge on one of the flat sides of it. When I popped it back in and booted my phone it was at 13% and slowly increased to 22% before starting to discharge again.
What I'm wondering is if my battery is broken and I should buy a new one of eBay?
edit: Right now I was charging it and rebooted. It went from 22% to 63%. Isn't this just a bit strange?
If you detect a slight bugle one side of the battery.
It means it is time to change the battery before it burst.
The battery is not hold a proper charge or discharge it properly, itr could be one of the filaments maybe damaged in the bulging area.
Okay, is there any aftermarket battery that is better than the stock Samsung one?
I also have the same problem after flashing on stock ROM. Solved with app "battery repair". Honestly it was not original (replacement) battery, but it still works well.

Yes, multiple calibration attempts.
But it's the bulge on the battery that has me concerned. It´s even ath the point where my back cover can't hold back anymore and sometimes comes loose where the battery is bulging.
One thing I'm noticing is that in AnTuTu Tester it shows the battery at higher voltages than the 3.7V on the back of the battery. So far I've noticed this go as high as 4.2V.
Is this something that is not ok? If not, could it be my phone or my battery's fault.
edit: 3.2V now during testing...
edit2: went all the way down to 2.7V during the testing (about an hour passed) and I experienced heavy screen flickering at around 22% left of battery and then the phone just shut down. Battery temp was at 39° right before shutdown.
Just recieved a new 1650 mAh battery today in the mail. Gonna give it a few cycles and post the results here.

It's works for me, but not a panacea for all problems.
Good day,
I have a I9100 w/ ResurrectionRemix V3.1.3 and Siyah-Dorimanx Kernel V7.34 on Android 4.2.1. I have been using the rom for a few months already but over the last 2 weeks, there has been severe idle battery drain. 11-15%/hr on idle, more if I actually used the phone.
I have tried calibrating my battery (full charge, drain till 0% and re charge). Also tried resetting fuel gauge chip using STweaks. One thing I noticed though, is that when I go to Testing page (dialler > *#*#4636#*#*), the battery voltage fluctuates. After fully charging my phone and turning it on, it states about 3900mv instead of close to 4200mv. Then it continues to be erratic, for example from 3800 to 3960 to 3870 etc. Is this the cause of my severe battery drain and how do I fix this?
Currently battery is at 79% but 3853mv.

Dude,Resurrection Remix is an old ROM,updated last year.Try to find a newer one, like JellyBam 7.8.0.It Android 4.2.2.Also,update Kernel to DorimanX 9.21.These are the latest ones.I'm running these too,and my battery drain is only 6-7 %/hour.
Battery is on the way out. New battery. Losing capacity is a sign of a dying battery.
I have tried 3 different ROMs and 2 batteries. Using Jellybam 7.80 now. All have the same issue. None of them have had better battery life. For example, I can have 70% deep sleep and a discharge rate of 15%/hr. Not long ago I was having 3%/hr at 70% deep sleep. I only use whatsapp mostly. No social networking apps due to their frequent updating.
This leads me to think that it is more likely a hardware fault. Does a faulty charging port PCB result in this problem?
I will post the BetterBatteryStats page of my current charge after 5hrs of idle soon.
