anyone can sent me link to root my S2 properly.....

CWM is actually vol UP + home + power.
But you can flash siyah v5 if you'd like.
Now, why you wanna root it to flash JB? (you wanna flash a pre-rooted ROM?)
You can do it via Odin.

To flash official jellybean, u dont need root. U can flash the official firmware via Odin.
To flash a custom JB rom, u can install CWM recovery by flashing Siyah v5 kernel, and then flash the custom Rom.

Maybe battery's dead.. try charging it for an hour or so, and then switch it on. If that doesnt work, try another battery.

U can reset the binary counter by using TriangleAway app also, available on the Playstore.
There's no problem at all if u dont reset it, unless ur looking to claim warranty for ur phone.
And there's no such thing as noob questions, as long as u search first and ask after that..

Samsung Galaxy s2/i9100 Brick problem

Hey guy's. I just tried to unroot my phone using this webpage:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124391
I dont really know what happened, but the ROM was flashing for about an hour and a half. I kinda got angry and I took the USB cable out of the Samsung galaxy s 2. On odin it said that the flash of the ROM failed( I took the cable out).
And now i CANNOT get into download mode.
Will the USB jig help me with my problem? Or is there another method I can try ?
Can someone please help me out and maybe give me a suggestion on how to get my phone into download mode so that I can flash back that ROM.
Thank you.
Same problem
Even am facing the same problem. Wish any expert could help us
Have u tried entering recovery mode?
If you can't enter either recovery or download modes, then I guess u will need a Jig.

Did u flash CWM recovery from ROM Manager? If not, u still have stock recovery!
Stock recovery can only flash zips on the external sd card, not internal sd.

THX 4 help.....
ok it looks like I at least didnt damage anything.
So, now im rooted like this method........but I heared about this problems with CWM too. So I try to read more and make it with ODIN
Can you perhaps point me on a good tut 4 for flashing with Odin if root is already there ?
There are so many tutorials and I find it kind of confusing which to follow.
best regards
EDIT: I did do something from CWM......it asked me for my model and I chose I9100. But in the list it was also Galaxy S2, so I was unsure. Then it did something. Did he perhaps flash the wrong revocerymanager and get me problems then going on now flashing with Odin ?
then I booted in the recovery I had the stock-options only

HI
my counter is on 3 now....is this a problem, as I dont have warranty any more anyway ?
greetz
Re: [Q] Help im to stupid to flash a costum rom
No, its not a problem, even if you did have warranty. The binary counter and yellow triangle show samsung that something had been flashed to phone, so they can refuse your warranty.
But before you would send it back for warranty, you would remove the signs of flashing. If you cant (like mb bricked); then samsung cant see what you have done.
Anyway, if you were on ICS, you can use triangle away app, and use a jig for GB.And flashing by recovery doesnt add the binary counter, that is why the other chap is recommending that.
You dont need to worry now, but the jig is also handy for booting phone into download mode.....like if your home button is faulty.

OK thx,
I'm going to flash a german Stock ROM (I9100XWLQ2) now. And after that I study this thread to flash Philz-cwm6 kernel. From there it should be easy to try customROMs like I want.
Thx for the tip with siyah but I think i go this way, because if i manage this I can help a friend to do this too, and he has a newer ROM
Re: [Q] Help im to stupid to flash a costum rom
You can use the method you think whats best for you.
But you should be aware of this;
1.before you do anything make sure you have Odin/drivers installed on your pc in case you need it fast.
2.when you get cwm, do a nand backup and make efs backup.
3.read some guides and have a quick look through the titles in this forum and youll see what goes wrong when you start flashing etc.....LOL

Stuck on install screen when updating to jellybean on rooted phone

Hi there,
I have a I9100 which was running the samsung stock Android 4.0.4 on the 3 network in the UK which I installed CWrecovery on and rooted. I downloaded an official update via the system update function yesterday and continued installing the update not thinking the root would effect anything, however the the install got stuck on the install screen (like the image attached) while constantly flashing on and off every 3-4 seconds, I pulled the battery after and hour or so. When I power on now it just shows the samsung sII logo along with the triangle and then goes straight back to the android install screen, I also can't go into recovery.
What would be the best thing to do in this instance? would re-flashing a recovery program work?
Thanks for any help!
Whatever happens, DO NOT WIPE DATA OR DO A FACTORY RESET! 4.0.4 is prone to the notorious eMMC brickbug!
Try downloading the new firmware manually and flashing via Odin.

U mean using CF Root kernel to root?
For JB, u can root using a custom kernel like Siyah, using Odin. This will install CWM recovery also and give u root access.
Or u can try the Universal Method to root without installing CWM recovery.

Universal method is intended for those who only want rooted stock firmware, but donot want to flash custom ROMs (no CWM recovery).
Some people have reported issues with CF Root for JB, so Siyah is an alternative. I don't think there are any particular advantages.

[Q] I cant root Samsung galaxy I9100 flashed with Jelly Bean Offical Stock

Hi all
I just flashed my device Galaxy I9100G with the Stock Official Firmwares as this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679636
And before i flash i did factory reset from android OS not from recovery mode (Settings -> backup -> Factory reset) then i flashed the Firmwares everything good and it work great, then i try to root as they say here in first method, but after i chose apply update from external storage in recovery mode an error appear saying "E:Failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)" and i don't have an external sdcard i am using internal 16 GB.
Please help me

Siyah is a custom kernel, but its good too. If you want to root with a stock based kernel, use Philz kernel.

Siyah doesn't work on I9100G.

That's a really big mistake mate! If you had done anything related to the I9100 on ur device, you would very well have bricked it!
Both have differences in hardware, and hence use different kernels and ROMs.
