Hi all,
Does any developers can release the HTC_CIME for HTC Hero 2.1 since I really want to type Chinese words. Please HELP. Thankyou very much.
It's in the "original" Official 2.1 rom ..
i believe what he wanted is to have it in an update.zip or apk such that he can insert it into other distro. I'm keen at it too. Don't know how to extract it from the 2.1 official release.
If you just want to type Chinese.
Search "Google pinyin IME" in the market and download it .
or
search "sogou input"

Yes, I know. But most of the developers delete it when they cook the rom.

Agree, I had tried many input keyboard but non of them offers the ease and accuracy of the Touch HTC CIME input. The switch keyboard key is very handy during typing mixed eng/chi sentence.
It's in 42turkey's ROM
I should be able to extract it for you. Is it just an apk? Or is there other files?

Would you mind providing the steps? Since I tried some of the HTC_CIME before and it finally crash the Rom. Thankyou very much.

Not sure, could be.. But it should work on all the ROM's based on the OTA for the Hero
Yeah, it should work on any ROM based on the OTA for the hero, that is where it was pulled from.

Won't work(install failed on dev or using adb push) for me if I push it onto a chronos 1.5.1 ROM. I guess a few reasons like the kernel built and the varying required libraries.
I'll try this later on a 2.1 ROM that had the CIME removed.

Well you can always flash back to Samsung Rom and then synch them, then switch back with nandroid

The point is that you should look for 3rd party replacements for the LG apps.

The thing is, that there is no help. The apps you want are part of a closed sourced OS distro.
You have to choose. Either OEM based roms or AOSP based. Each one will have its pluses and negs.

I saw your post...
I was going to ask you witch was your problem...
I never had bootloop issues...just sometimes the device would do that but pulling out and in the battery and starting the phone again would have solved the problem...
If you know anyway I could create a ROM from my device...even if I think it's impossible because of Android Lollipop...

I´s possible ! I´m doing it right now but will take like 4 to 5 days.
If I am able to build the rom it will work on your device.
