Is there a way to force my phones screen to auto rotate the screen? It of course does it when in apps but on the home screen it doesnt.
For the life of me I cannot understand why they will not give us this one simple feature.
Use power toggles, or better yet, use custom launcher

The default launcher doesn't auto-rotate. Check out Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher, both have that functionality.
Wanting to stick with the stock launcher. Is there a recommended app from the market to do just this?
And what rom are you running? Stock MotoBlur or custom rom?

You need to use Home Switcher to go back without uninstalling ANY 3rd party launcher on most moto phones.
do i need to press and hold home button or just pressing it will do the job of switching back to stock launcher screen?

As mentioned in, hey, the post above yours, you will need to uninstall whatever third party launchers you have installed to get back to BlurHome, or install a home switching application. I'd recommend HomeSmack.
For some reason Moto thought it was a good idea to automatically set third party launchers as default.

I'm using widget locker with honeycomb theme and was wondering if there is a way to replace the stock lock screen with this one due to a few force closes making it revert to stock lock screen.

I used MagiLocker for a little while, but it seemed a little laggy to me.

I use WidgetLocket too with the ICS theme, and haven't had it force close once. It has worked perfectly for me so far. Maybe trying reinstalling it? Are you rooted or running mostly stock?
I'n rooted running adw ex with the snowball mod. I was wantint to replae stock lockscreen and not just have an overlay. Just seems like it would run better.

I find that with both widget locker and go launcher, that even if I have links to the apps copied to the system/app folder, my clock widget (fancy widget) loses the skin definition and needs to be reapplied.
Otherwise, things work fine.
Do you think putting a link to fancy widget in system/app would fix the clock skin issue?
Don't know if this would work but on my phone I use NoLock to disable the stock and Go Locker as a replacement. Might be worth a try.
There is a setting in the widget locker settings to disable stock lock screen. Can't remember where it is right now in the settings tho.
As far as the widgets disappearing after reboot, I have the same issue and haven't found a way to fix it yet.

If you want them not to lose configuration you have to move them from datt/app
to system/app and there you should give them full permissions. That has solved my problem with widgets in Go launcher
why didnt motorola give ics screen rotate on ics... ok i can download go launcher etc but on gb it was on the whole phone. app drawer and everything how can i get it to rotate.
Motoblur rotate on GB? Are you sure?
yep had it on gb, i was suprizzzzzzed too.ics dont have it at all on app drawer or main screen.
Try using Apex Launcher, its much better than the stock.

Hi there, I was wondering if there is any way to make the Blur home screen rotate without having to instal any third party apps.
Can someone help?
Basically, I wanted to make everything rotate to landscape, homescreen, phone, contacts, since some of those don't rotate unless you force it with third party apps.
Thanks in advance!
Does 3rd party apps also cover Nova Launcher? On settings I can get all screens to rotate.

Maybe some dev could port some system apps from droid 4, as the actual screen resolution and hardware is more or less the same

Pretty sure you can edit your build.prop to do this...could be wrong.

Any devs around? would appreciate...
Blur doesn't rotate and devs will probably not use this in a rom.
Cheers

Found another app, the best one so far. I guess that the file we need should be in that app, but since I'm not a dev, i don't dare to try it.
The app is called Set Orientation, and it allows you to force auto orientation even on those apps that don't rotate, like homescreen and dialer.
The best of all, it's a free app.
