If you prefer getting an insecure kernel, here is Chainfire's thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Read it in detail and choose your kernel.

It could be because of all the flashing u did previously.
I dont know if it will solve your problem, but maybe u can try flashing a wipe script that will remove all unwanted files and prepare your phone for a new ROM...

On second thought, don't try that. That would require you to root and install CWM.
Have you tried doing a factory reset before and after flashing via Odin?

You need to read a lot more mate.
Here's a good place to start.
Read this too.
BTW, stock recovery is a special mode in ur phone, while Odin is a software that runs on Windows.

Flashing via Odin can fail due to a number of reasons, which is why I always suggest Mobile Odin for flashing and stock recovery for rooting.

Huh? Is ur previous issue solved?
Have u confirmed that you are rooted?
The root folder is not a special folder. It just means the lowest folder level.
For example:
You have a D: drive with a folder Backup, with another folder Messages inside it.
Like this - D:/Backup/Messages
The root folder here is D:/
get it?

To unlock bootloader, simply use your phone. One of the few good things about Samsung is they don't lock stuff down, comes already unlocked.
Unless you were getting terminology mixed up and actually wanted something else?
