AND THE ANSWER IS......................................................................DOUBLETWIST
double twist is not the name that sounds like a music player. Trust me i've been through alot of different free music players and i have to say it has been the best
With these music players it all about the user interface not about what they can or can't do. This is by far the best user interface i have seen. and oh if you want to spend a little money the paid version is even better here is a link for it on the google play website where you can read more about it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...Player&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
Does it have actions with the power and volume buttons? For me Apollo is the best player i've tryied. Have you tried?

the only reason that i do not like apollo, is because i have all of my music stored on my external sdcard and due to some simlink problems, it cant see any of it.
i use poweramp and it is quite nice

Apollo seems to be working with my external SD card. But the best no doubt is n7player.

i just like poweramp because of the amount of options that come with it. + i already paid for the full version
on a side note: how did you get apollo to see your external sd card. i thought it couldn't because of the simlink problem

Didn't do nothing really, it's just working.
IMO, Jet Audio Plus has a very nice and clean UI. The widgets are great, it has 25 or more pre-tuned levels or you choose from a 10 or 20 band equalizer and make up to four Custom sound settings. Many more sound tweaks, audio gain, stadium sound, room sound, hall... gapless play, fade in, fade out, swipe for next or previous song.
Customize album and artist folders.
There's so much, it's almost too much, but I love it.

WinAmp
Hope this helped
playerpro is probably the best music player i have ran into.
If you want to waste $5.08 on a music play then go ahead and buy PlayerPro. But if you want the same thing, that works just as well if not better, then get WinAmp.
Dont be a sucker and pay $5 for a stupid music player.
Songbird
it is free

No flac support, no eq, no folders, no tag editing....
DoubleTwist is great and has airsync(wifi). The lock screen takes over the whole screen and shows a large cover with good sized rev/play/fwd buttons at the bottom
Does PowerAmp play flac on the Atrix? I haven't been able to play any flac.
Winamp is terrible, for reasons already stated. I've never used Songbird so i cannot say anything about it. DoubleTwist was my primary a long time ago, but for some reason it could not read music files on the external sd so it had to go. It may have been because I had purchased it right when the phone came out so external sd support might not have been working yet. I do not know if they have updated it to work with it or not yet so you may want to ask someone around here if you plan on purchasing it.

Yes, PowerAmp does play FLACs on the Atrix. You can check it out for 14 days. I'm getting close to the end of my trial, and I have yet to find a decent alternative that supports FLAC. May end up shelling out some dough.
On topic, PowerAmp also has a lock screen widget.
I love how people are sooooo damn demanding when it comes to what music play to get. ITS A MUSIC PLAYER!!! not a new phone!

Well we buy nice phones for cool features and a lot of us buy nice apps for nice features too. Winamp isn't bad it's just playerpro is better, in my experience at least.

For many people it is probably the most used function of the phone as well.
MixZing also has a lockscreen widget.
PowerAMP
Don't bother with anything else, nothing compares. Well worth the 5 bucks.

Hi
I have a 16gb class 2 sdcard wich is very slow. There's alot of music everywhere on my sd but every app I use force closes while scanning or playing songs. Are there apps that can play my music and just don't bother themselves to my sdcard?
Btw I already tried (of coarse) the stock one, google music, winamp and poweramp but none of them seem to work...
try music mod
Power Amp
great Bass Power
Folder search & operations
stable!
I already tried poweramp see second post but that also fces. And music mod also fces
Try Songbird
Either there is a problem with ur sd card or the apps. But if all the music app are force closing, well i think it could be some problem with your sd card.
Btw do the music players play the music which they have found(some inbulit music)? if yes then try checking your ext partion. There may something with that.
Hope this helps

Yes the can play the music if it's scanned but only for half a minute or less then fc. It just could be my sdcard because of 16gb and class 2... Btw I'm not using partitions except for the system ones
Edit: songbird works without fcs!! Tnx!
Ok so songbird works but it hasn't alot futures, it just plays my music (sometimes automatically when my screen is off) any other suggestions?
Did you try to change rom with wipe data etc? Maybe its rom bug or sdcard speed fix if its used

I don't think it's the sd card.. 'coz i have 8gb class2 card, and 5gb of music and movies, and non force closes.. i listen music with the stock player, and movies with mvideo app. must be something else. try wipe data, or flash another rom, or just reflash the same..
hey guys, you can try this modded version of miui player for galaxy 3 it looks like the Walkman player from SE phones, and its very fast,i use it on my G3 and its very good.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325310

Player Pro does this.
Agreed +1 on player pro (current player with sense skin)
Also use the folder option as well...so that option won me over entirely
I think there is like one more player that offers a folder option (trust me I went through them ALL) but cant think of it to save my life...might of been miui player??? idk?? dont hold me to it...
I think Mixing had folder option as well. I started using Player Pro a couple years ago and never looked back.
It's good but i prefer poweramp

It has a nice interface, but messing with the EQ too much causes it to hang. And if music is playing, you can't control it in any way, the only solution is to force close the app.
I usually just use Amazon MP3 to play music. The stock Blur player leaves a lot to be desired, and Google Music doesn't (seem to?) differentiate between cloud and local playback. With Amazon MP3 it's real easy. Plus, I buy music from them and I've ripped and uploaded my CDs to their cloud (and to Google's, it's nice to have options, heh). It isn't a great player, but it's reliable. And while I enjoy music, I don't play it on my phone often enough to need a fancy player.
But, thanks for the link, it was fun to try out.
where do most people store their music on the rezound? I am trying to see the best and efficient way to store music. Do you use the sim card or sd card.

There's no SIM storage on the Rezound. You might be thinking that the internal SD(phone storage) is SIM storage, but i digress.. For the most part you're better off using the internal SD. More apps recognize music there. However since I started using Google Music, I don't store music on my phone anymore. Everything is streamed from my Google Music account/Pandora/Tune-in.

+ 1 - me too. But I've used more than a gig of data three days into my cycle.

I use my SD card that I reorganize about once a month by rounding up songs I pick up here and there and getting them into one folder. It's so much easier to backup, move to another phone, and locate.

Probably never. I use DSP Manager, and I know a lot of people use Volume+ to get the same if not better effects. I like it because the beats DSP isn't customizable and being that it's stuck in the stock player, I never use it anyway. I did notice one weird/cool thing. If you play a song with beats in the stock player and immediately switch to google music or any other audio, of about 15 seconds the beats DSP is still active meaning that beats should be able to run full time, rather than only in stock music.
Beats Audio
Hopefully they will eventually work with some of the major apps like Pandora or Rhapsody. The built-in music player with the iBeats headphones, sound pretty damn incredible.
I've tried seeing if there is any sort of a quality difference between running music from external SD, or internal. I've noticed none in the stock music app, but my card is a sandisk class 4, for what it's worth. Like a previous poster said, some apps need music on internal to function, though. But those are becoming far and few between nowadays. There's always the supposed argument that putting a bunch of stuff on internal storage will slow down your phone though, too.

Are talking only about music apps for playing the music such as PowerAmp? Or is there something else I should know about apps needing to access my music? I have mine on the external and no problems that I know of. Been using both the HTC music app and PowerAmp.
I have installed FUSION v8.0 ROM which i believe is using CM10.1
The music player which comes along doesnt support folder browsing and also the volume is quite low.
Is there anyway to use music player which comes from samsung on default.?

Thanks for suggestion. Very nice music player indeed.
But still m missing the loud sound of the stock music player. Is there any way this rooting is creating this issue?

Thats one of the great things of poweramp, you can make it loader.
rooting itself will not affect volume. It's probably a ROM thing. Custom Kernels such as Devil (link in my signature) will allow you to increase headphone output to.
