i think jelly bean is draining battery a little. is there anyone with this issue?
Discharge and fully charge the battery couple of times so the battery could stabilize a little. Then see how the battery will hold.Immediately after flashing i experienced battery drain, but after few cycles it returned to normal

AW: battery draining on jelly bean?
Too bad, either Battery Monitor Widget cant handle the l9s current register, or its charge controller has none. But there IS higher drain, and probably it's related to some Wifi bug, when coming from standby Wifi symbol displays lowest signal strength, connects at minus 1mbit/s but works OK. Time for some hotfix from LG.

I looked at my battery usage on my Wifi only flyer and noticed that cell standby was account for over 70% of my battery usage (there are different categories for WiFi usage). This does not make sense, anyone else noticing the same thing?

I had this too. Mine is a 3G version but I am WiFi a lot too. I am having some success with Juice Defender available in the market. I am using its tablet mode which when connected to WiFi disables the cell completely and has definitely helped with battery drain overall. I reckon I get 10-20% better battery life now overall.
Don't have that problem on my WiFi Flyer. In 8h 17m on battery, my display is 82%, wifi 7%tablet idle 4% Android os 3%, Dolphin HD 3%, bluetooth 1%. Still have 70% battery life. Haven't used it much today.
yup... just turn it to airplane mode... you can still use the wifi and no cell standby issues... also makes me wonder if the cell radios are in there and if there is a way to get them on a network
Normally overnight I lose 8-10% in battery power. However for the last 4nihhts I've lost 25-30%, looking at my stats the phone doesn't appear to be awake but all of a sudden it appears the drain increases
Please can someone advise
Thankd
if you switch off location and google search in location services you might get alot better battery life, it work for me, over night I would drop 10-20 % now its only 5%
turn off gps, wifi, 3g, lower brightness

phone was asleep and didnt wake
but the drain increased , then slowed
but wasnt woken
So ive been using omega v27 based on the official Poland Jelly Bean rom, and i have noticed that my battery is draining quicker when im on wifi... i used better battery stats and my wifi seems to be keeping my phone awake unless i put on settings "turn wifi off during sleep" on never.
I wanted to know if someone else is experiencing something similar to this, i thought my drain should be higher on 3G/Hdspa, however this is not the case.
thanks.
I thought battery drain should be higher when using wifi
nope.. usually the phone consumes less battery on wifi.. well at least thats how i thought it should be
In my case wifi doesn't keep the phone awake, or at least not awake like with softlocker which causes much faster battery drain. With wifi always on, mine can standby more than 1 hour for every 1% battery according to battery monitor widget.
seems like i fixed it, no idea how though
Since Jelly Bean release ive noticed that the battery life hasnt really improved for me. Actually its gone to worse. Normally i dont use my tablet very active, so there were cases when i had 10 days between charges. No, even without using, the battery holds maximum of 4 days.
I dont have wifi lock, i have disabled backup, only have synchronisation of gmail and drive, but i had those on before aswell.
What i see in the battery graph is that even when wifi and display are off, something still wakes the tablet every 10-15 mins or so and drains the battery. In the stats it says that the "Standby mode" has the most usage...
Could anyone help me with some app to diagnose that problem or share similar expiriences..

I resolved my battery problems using Wakelock Detect:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en
You might want to give it a try. Turned out that some badly written application was holding wake lock on my XTS and thus jeopardizing the battery life. I also use Battery Monitor Widget:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.bmw
It won't tell you source of the problems but it will tell you how much battery is drained when your device was sleeping.

Btw. for WLD enable advanced mode from settings. It was system process which was holding wake lock and by default, WLD does not show system processes at all (!!!).
batery life always been awfull on XTS it was't bad but it could last easy 3 day's on single charge if sony optimise it.
my nexus 7 i can easy achieve 2 day's on single charge maybe 3 day's and it only has like 4200 mah batery with wifi actualy staying on always.
now in standby only drains like 1% batery per 3 hours
XTS always drained 2% per hour for me in standby

Wtf, that would drain the battery in two days?! Definetly some program has wake loke on your device. I havent done any measurements, but I think I've left my device on my table for week and read E-mails every now and then without any charge and it still has some juice left!

Actually on ICS i had one time when i had 18 days of standby and i used the tablet occasionally
Update on thread:
I found out Google Maps was waking the sysem every 10-15 minutes to look for a location, even tho GPS and Wifi were off. I disabled Latitude and automatic locking on location and also disabled every location option possible (use wifi to lock location etc.) and now its better..
I've looked through this forum, but the Only thing I have seen are normal battery drain issues. Mine is not.
I'd like to point out that my Galaxy S3 is the 16Gt non-4G unlocked "Nordic" or European version, and I haven't rooted it.
The problem is that whenever I'm out playing Ingress, and it's chilly outside (0 degrees celsius) the battery seems to drain really fast. I thought it was just because Ingress uses both GPS and internet, and that the screen is on all the time.
I use the phone until it shuts down because of battery. Then I'd plug the phone to the charger in the car, wait for 30sec, and after the screen has fully lit up(I have not yet turned it on) the graphic says the battery is over 50%. So then I turn it on, And the battery is @58%. I unplug it and continue playing. The battery drains real fast again. Then it shuts down. I repeat the above process, and after turning it on the battery is @54%.
Also, sometimes during this battery drain, @10% or so, the phone disconnects from the network. It is disconnected until the battery is at about 2%, then it regains the network connection for the short while it is still on.
I have GSAM battery monitor installed, and it drew a nice graph. I couldn't take a screenshot of it because GS3's screenshot taking is a pain in the arse and I just couldnt do it. But the Graph showed the battery draining from 60%->0% in ½h, then it suddenly started from 58% and drained to 0% in another ½h.
Has anyone else had this kind of problem? If so, have you solved it and how?
The phone was 4.1.2 until I updated it to 4.3 recently, and the problem was on both versions.

Are you rooted? Then you can try wiping battery stats...that might help...
(<---Remember to Thank me if this helped)

Replace your battery.
This is clearly not a problem of the battery, as it does retain it's charge. The phone just doesn't know it until it's connected to a charger. Hence magical 1s charge-ups.
