Why do I have to keep clearing data in the gallery application to get all the pictures to show? After I do it all the folders show pictures, then if I open the gallery an hour later the pictures show in my folders but any folder with the facebook f on them show up empty, tried syncing on and off same result, tried diff apps they don't show those folders.. any ideas as to what's happening?

Do you have an app that clears the cache by chance?
Yeah I do..
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
thats the problem then most likely.
Yeah, i had this issue with TB/Gallery before. If it is history cleaner pro, get a new cache app. The PRO version doesn't allow for exclusions...
If that doesn't work, you could try quickpic from the app store. I prefer it to the stock gallery.

I've got pics and videos in a folder with a .nomedia file, but all the files still show up in the gallery. I've cleared the cache and data from the manage apps.

Try running the media scanner
Search rescan media in the market

I got the ones out finally, but in order to do that I cleared the data and now none of the videos have thumbnails.

Okay, so this is a big problem. My HTC Gallery app is f*cked up. (Photo will be posted) All the thumbnail are black and white, tilted, and has a sort of "line" effect to it. Like a CRT. (Look at the photo)

Cool filter on those pics.
I don't know what's wrong, but have you tried Quick pic from the Market. It is a very good gallery substitute.

What you can do is that delete all the thumbnails for those pics. You can do so by goin in ur sd card in dcim you'll find thumbnails. Just delete them. Disconnect your device and go in gallery and let it recreate thumbnails for it.
*facepalm* Thats not a filter...

Thanks, it re-created the thumbnails, but they were recreated with the SAME problem. If this helps in any way, when I tap on the a photo with the effect of the thumbnail taken AFTER my Gallery issue occurred, it would have an effect similar to the thumbnail for half a second, then turn normal.
Goes from (how i described in OP only fullscreen) to Normal photo. I go from da fuq to ?.

I was joking, hence the smiley. My recommendation to try Quick pic was serious though.

Try wiping the app's cache?

I would try a super wipe and then flash the Rom again. That's what I usually do for these types of things.

Me thinks that a factory reset is in your future.

I am going to go with that. (formatting app cache didn't work) FACTORY RESET! (Then restore data partition through recovery.)
If that does work, I will close the thread. If it doesn't then FUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!
Factory reset fone
Hit the thanks button if I helped
Ok I have another question. I transferred all my pics from my last phone to the DNA and they don't show up in the gallery app. They show up in quickpic though. Any wait to get them to show up there?

If you're rooted, try using file explorer to move the pictures from wherever they are to the gallery directory. Otherwise, send them to yourself and download them to the phone again.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Try clearing cache on the gallery, or restart the phone and open it.
Make sure there isn't a .nomedia file in the directory of the pictures.
If all else fails you can move them to the default picture location, and you don't have to be rooted as the guy above me seems to think.
But the default gallery app seems to be really good for me about detecting pics.

Download an app called rescan media from the play store, it'll fix your problem. :good:

Thanks everyone. Ill try a few of those

I didn't say he had to be rooted, I just said that it would make the process easier. He can just as easily send himself the pictures from the other app and download them to his gallery. OP, you should try whatever suggestion you think works best.

When I go into my gallery it'll show one picture but when I click on the it it a different picture. I its only happening with the most recent pictures I've taken. I I did have duplicates of every picture but I unmounted and remounted my sd card and they disappeared... Any ideas what this could be or how to fix it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Go to manage apps, click on all, find media storage and wipe data and reboot that will fix duplicates in gallery and music player.

Running CM10.1, I wiped my sdcard already so that my phone could read both which it does I have pictures on both my extsdcard and sdcard which gallery can see both but when I download a picture it saves to sdcard but the gallery can't see them even though it sees other pictures in that folder. I can access the pictures through root explorer though, anyone know anything?

I think this is due to the media scanner. If you reboot I bet it will show up in the Gallery.
