HTC RecoveryMod can't be updated! - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi developers!
So my rooted htc gsm version has a 'android system recovery installed'. And im needing android 4.0 for some app development.
I can't seem to flash a new recovery since "ClockworkMod Recovery" does not support older devices. I downloaded an older version of the ClockworkMod Recovery but trying to flash the recovery says that there's error. I need ClockworkMod Recovery to be installed on my phone to be able to install android 4.0.
Anyone has other methods to install ClockworkMod Recovery rather using their servers?
thank you

The recovery you got from cwm is enough to install CM9, check your CM9 zip, its probably a bad download

[Q] Clockworkmod Recovery - How do I upgrade from 2.x to the newest version?

I've got a rooted HTC Evo 4g with version 2.6 of ClockworlMod Recovery. I'm trying to use Rom Manager to install CyanogenMod 7.1 but Rom Manager keeps saying that I need to install Clockworkmod recovery (from what I'm told because my version is too old).
Can someone tell me how to upgrade from 2.6 to the latest version? I downloaded the latest Clockworkmod IMG file but when I boot into the recovery mode I only see the option to upgrade from a zip file.
The easiest way is to use the "ROM Manager" from the market.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager
It was actually Rom Manager that keeps bugging me to install Clockworkmod recovery. Apparently I need a newer version to install Cyanogenmod 7.1. How can I tell Rom Manager to "upgrade" my version of Clockworkmod?
Thanks!

ROM Manager

Is ROM Manager fully functional on this phone now? Just wondered if all of the options: CWM, Updates, Fix permissions, etc. are all working for folks - with no issues. Will it update to CWM Touch?
Thanks for any input.
im running touch flawless but i cant seem to download and go straight to recovery i have to manual but cwm is working fine
I posted a lengthy question earlier on this....for me, ROM Manager 6.0.1.5 (non touch) insatalls and seems to work fine, however when I try to do a backup of my current ROM it does not fully do it.
Uninstalling ROM Manager and flashing via fastboot the posted CWM recovery, I was able to do a successful Nandroid.
Just sucks not being able to use ROM Manager to backup your current ROM...for me at least.
At the Rom Manager Website I see both versions for the DNA:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
It says the version number (for both) should be 6.0.1.5. Currently running 6.0.1.2 on my phone.
But on my phone, if I click on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery, it says Unsupported Device. Hmmmmm
Any update on this?
Is ROM Manager now supporting the DNA?

[Q] HTC One Stuck on CWM v6.0.3.1

I have a HTC One from T-mobile and it is currently stuck on a GPE rom I got from HTConeroot.com - m7_GPe_JWR66V_deodexed-signed.zip. I tried to upgrade to android kitkat 4.4 using the same website I mentioned earlier and followed directions to install rom manager so I could get CWM recovery instead of TWRP. I flashed CWM 6.0.3.1 and then rebooted into recovery to flash the latest 4.4 ROM but the flash failed. I had a backup at the time to stock Sense but somehow deleted it out of frustration. The phone then became bricked. I sideloaded the above mentioned GPE rom w/4.3 and now I'm stuck here. I have a Dell Windows 8.1 computer and can no longer use fastboot to flash any other recoveries. Rom manager says it has flashed TWRP but when I reboot it is still CWM 6.0.3.1. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to flash a different recovery or a different rom????

[Q] can't install clockworkmod recovery

I have a rooted MDK Verizon S4 with SuperSU installed. I had been trying to use Rom Manager to install clockworkmod recovery and every time, it comes back with the message that it has been successfully installed. When I try to boot into recovery, it wouldn't work. I finally installed GooManager and went ahead and installed TWRP. Now I am able to boot into TWRP with no issues, but when I try to overwrite and install clockworkmod recovery from within Rom Manager, it again comes back with the message that it has been successfully installed, but it still boots into TWRP.
I understand that I can use TWRP to switch over to a different rom, but I am just befuddled as to why I am not able to install clockworkmod. Can you guys please help me understand what I am doing wrong?

You can either ODIN the CWM edition you want (for example Philz Touch Recovery - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jfltevzw) - get the md5 file of course for ODIN. You can also try to flash the zip file of Philz Touch Recovery from your SDCard (same site - http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jfltevzw) through TWRP. Reboot into recovery and see what happens.

Thanks. When I was trying to install CWM within Rom Manger, I ended up paying for the touch upgrade, hence my desire to try and install CWM form within Rom Manager... It's just a bit frustrating that I can't figure out what's going on..

[Q] TWRP and CWM for Verizon Galaxy S4

I have Safestrap up and running again but I'm wondering how can you install other recoveries like TWRP and CWM so I can boot directly into the custom recovery without a splashscreen I believe it's called (newbie here). I followed instructions online with GooManager for TWRP and ROM Manager for CWM but neither will actually boot into the custom recovery.
In GooManager after it says the TWRP recovery has been installed, it will reboot but then take me to the downloading boot screen and say "could not do a normal boot." What's with that? I actually had to use ODIN again to flash the stock ROM back (I tried this three times to no avail...)
And for CWM it says it successfully flashed in ROM Manager but when I actually reboot into recovery, whether it be from the app or manually, it will just boot into the stock Android recovery. I don't get it...
What am I doing wrong and/or is my phone not compatible with these recoveries?
Specs:
Verizon Galaxy S4
Android 4.3
Build MK2
Kernel MK2
Also are there any other recoveries that might work with my phone?
Thanks!
....
Bootloader is locked and custom recovery can't be installed on newer/updated S4. Do some reading to find out what is and is not possible with a locked bootloader.
