So I was just looking through my application manager and noticed that the Amazon Appstore was 1.14GB in size. I cleared the cash and now it's only 7.14MB. Glad I caught that! Can anyone beat the 1.14GB?!

I take no credit here, member CCallahan turned me on to the subject free app. As someone that works in IT I should have figured this out myself. I play with my phones HARD!!! Some place here, I posted that my phone was slower, freezing sometime, could not make calls. CCallahan suggested I get this app and clear my cache. I ran it, rebooted, totally different device!! I have it set to clear automatically once a day!!
What app?

"App Cache Cleaner," it's in the Market.
I use QuickApp Manager to clear my caches and I like it because of the ability to exclude certain apps like Gmail from getting cleared..
But scrolling cache does it clear that... That's where the lag comes from

Running Unofficial rom and can't get Google play to work. Keep getting an instant fc with an immediate close of app. Tried uninstalling updates, removing apparently, reinstalling and still no go.
Any help would ne much appreciated
Biggest big dog there is, NOTE!
Try a set of GApps from here mate.
Make sure you pick a 'gb' one for gingerbread, or an 'ics' one for ICS. Grab the latest version just to be sure, and only install the Play Store apk as your others may break
Good luck
Under App Manager, clear all data and cache for both Google Play Store and Google Services Framework
Reboot into recovery and wipe cache and Dalvik.
May want to try to fix permissions if you still don't have any luck.

Seen a new thread posted, going to try there way. I'll report back if it helps
This happened to me..trying to remember exactly what i did..
I believe had to uninstall the play store update in apps then delete cache and reboot. or vice versa
Do you ever uninstall apps by long pressing and dragging to uninstall? I THINK i heard market does that because the app count on phone is different than store? Could be wrong but after i could download again my store was WAY off for a little bit

Such a cleaner is needed but not for things like registry entries and cache.
Its needed for those apps that directly store their data and cache on the memory card, and don't wipe it when you uninstall. The worst are those which create vague folder namers like "csdata" or something. How are you supposed to know if it belongs to an app you're using or one you've uninstalled?
There should be a better way to store large amounts of app data than mingling it in with user data with vague names.

Pretty nifty. I will give it a shot.
Cool app
I will have to try this out to see how well it works!
Cleared off 600MB of crap, I disabled all the reminder stuff though so it won't use any battery (hopefully). I'll have to install it on my tablet when i get home too, I'm sure that has tons of crap on it.
