Weird text msg. - HTC Droid DNA

Any idea why I keep getting this text msg? I've received it 3 times today.

I think Verizon is sexting you. Have you tried responding with a sexy selfie?

It's Verizon's Backup Assistant being stupid. Not recognizing your phone. Try uninstalling the BUA app from the phone, and log into your MyVerizon account and turn it off. No harm doing this since you have an android phone and Google's backups are much better than Verizon's BUA.
Go to your my Verizon account, remove all email addresses from your vz backup feature in "manage email settings", hit apply. You will then get a text saying VZWUEP: DELETE. This confirms the texts should stop.

Email widget with notification number of emails

Is there anyway on the Photon to have the Email or Messaging widget show the number of unread emails on it (like in Sense)? I can get a preview of the email's contents, but I just want a number on it of how many there are.
Maybe try this? I haven't done it but it's worth a shot.

Well you can use K-9 MAIL link it to your corperate, imap,or pop email. It has an unread count icon widget.

I've considered K-9, but have seen too many reports of instability. Sense has a regular email icon with uncount number on it -- why can't there be one for the Photon too?

Lol yea I came from an Evo too..
just loved that Sense, its a no go with the mopho though
I have been using k9 for over a year now and in earlier vs. Yea it had some issues, but the past 4-5 months its been rock solid for me. Even overseas.
There is also another app on the market call email widget pro I think it cost a dollar though. It will give you an unread count widget to your native email apk.
But the icon is so darn ugly

When you say "email widget pro" I assume you mean this one https://market.android.com/details?id=de.foobarsoft.emailwidget&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImRlLmZvb2JhcnNvZnQuZW1haWx3aWRnZXQiXQ.. that I found in the Market for $1.92.
However, it says in the description "* Motorolla (Droid/DroidX/Defy...) only with root (please read additional info on my website! )".
I am talking about using it on a Photon which is NOT rooted. Do you know if it will work on that?

Worst case scenario you could buy it and test within the 15 minute refund window. If it doesn't work just get a refund.

Need help finding a lock app

I'm trying to find a locking app similar to the lock on my iPad, when the phone is rebooted or sleep for more the 2 hours the iPad requires a code to unlock. But during normal use it's just normal unlocking. Anybody know of a Android app that would be similar?
Thought my note slipped out my pocket the.other afternoon while working on my truck and didn't realize I didn't have it till later that night, the last time I used it was outside my apartments with my truck and I automatically thought it fell and somebody found it and took it. Tried to call it but it just kept going straight to voicemail so that definitely made me think it was stolen since my.phone wasn't off before. But I.found it later under the seat in my truck haha. I want a.locking app so if it does get taken and the person turns it off and tried to turn it back on then it will ask for a code and lock them out

I don't know if it supports 2 hours as an interval, but the stock rom does this. Home, menu, settings, security, I think. Somewhere in there is the option to set the time after which your PIN will be requested.

I wish we have something like HTC sense provides. Locate phone and if stolen you can delete contents of the phone from the HTC sense website.

A while back I lost my streak and I'd call it and it ring and go to voice mail except once someone rejected the same call and I knew someone had it. Lookout has an app that's called plan b that you can install remotely and will activate your gps so you can find it. Long story short I retrieved my streak and the guy who took it and wouldn't return it ended up with a broken car window. I also believe there's an app out there that'll completely lock your phone down too. Check lookout's suite of software, they may have something for you

Try out Cerberus it can remotely take pictures using the front or back camera and it emails the picture to you, bad guys face is there and also can use the back camera to figure out where they are. GPS locator remotely wipe SD and phone memory and also can set up other people's numbers (that you trust obviously) that you can send a wipe message to your phone from as well through text.
And its only $4 for a lifetime license.

Specific Number forward

So lets say you have a call that come to you every day.. (of course it is a bill collector)
And you would like to forward that specific number to a dead phone number .. is that possible..
or make t so they cannot leave you a voice mail....
just wondering..
I use YouMail app. It has a blacklist feature.
I have tried the you mail in the past and it did not get along with me...
I really want a call forwarded so I can send it to funny phone numbers like 1800gmtruck etc...

I only know of that -- sorry.
Or.......
Deal with the person thats calling you, and resolve the bill....just a thought......g
There are plenty of call blocker apps in the play store. I forget the name of the one I use but it hasn't failed me yet.
The bill collectors are not for me, and they won't stop calling me... The worst thing about new numbers...the person who had the number previously...

there are currently 1685 call blocker apps on the play store. One of them has gotta work..I'd start on a few of those, and work your way up...:good:

The next time that they call, get the caller's name, which debt collection agency that they represent, then repeat the following:
I have had this number for X years, I do not know NAME, now, or ever. Under the fair debt collection practices act you are required to never call this number again, any further calls will result in legal action.

This has worked with two separate DCAs who were chasing a medical debt on a number that I had had for five years at that time.

I was at my local VZW store yesterday and saw this happen on a person's DNA. I was there getting something else done but I listened to their entire conversation. The VZW rep had to disable fastboot under power options(I think) then he did a tottaly shutdown then brought it back up. Hope this works for you:fingers-crossed:

Bastard Stole My Wife's Phone Today.

Just wanted to vent. Put it down in the WaWa, sometime picked it up, with her purse, and took off!
Android Device Manager, not so useful. Tracked the phone until it was turned off, I sent lock and wrote commands which was accepted but have no clue if it really went through. Verizon says it's dead, even on skell services like frawg.
Asurion replacement coming, rep assured it'll be new and not a refurbished unit. Insurance it's a good thing. Venting over.
Thank God for insurance. Opportunists everywhere. That's why mine is always on hand, in my pocket or on the table in front of me. Sorry for your wife's loss. Hope it's backed up!
Next time you should install the remote tazer app for just these situations.

Or a way to sort the lithium battery. Explosive "fun".
That sucks someone tried to steal my gf's phone on the bus one day but thankfully there was a cop at the stop that was able to get him. and yes insurance is a life saver!
Someone tried stealing my phone. Unlucky for him I work with a lot of cops and used a plan b app. Locked the phone (to where it can't even be turned off without pin, none removable battery), tracked it as I could then activated a siren function.
Guy was pulled out of a cafe with a siren alarming phone by cops while I unlocked the phone, proving it was mine.
Good thing for insurance though. Never trust provider to track it.
