Hi guys! i Have just upgraded my gsm razr xt910 to official jb (982.124.14.retail.en.eu )
everything's ok but i have a "problem" (if i can call it in this way)
everytime i turn on my phone i see in the notification bar the voice "synchronizing contacts between sim card and phone" (those are not the real words, it's my traslation from italian ) this also happens when i set airplane mode and when i suddenly disable it..
as i said before, this is not a real problem, because this synchronization lasts a few minutes and then it turns off, but i want to disable it because it's useless..and i even want to now if i'm the only one who has this problem
thank you guys !
Hi, if you are not rooted, You will not be able to shut it down.
Can I ask? What colour is Your "people" (contacts app)? Is it white?

i remember than in ics there was a process who asked you to synchronize only if it finds new contacts in the sim ..not every moment like the new one

I noticed the same. I suppose it is syncing contacts with Google Gmail??
You can disable sync when you open Contacts. Choose settings and Accounts. There is an option to disable auto-sync.
However, I did not try this, so I am not sure.

It's a known issue. I have it too on the Vodafone leak. Nothing much you can do to remove it and my sim card doesnt have any numbers except those that came with it for vodafone care. I've learnt to ignore it

So I've had this problem for a very long while, in that I get absolutely no Facebook notifications! Well, save for some random notifications for messages, and often times I don't really have any new messages, or the app isn't able to fetch them from the server. Tried uninstalling then reinstalling the app, clearing its data... this was on Froyo. Installed Gingerbread, installed the Facebook app from the Market, and still no notifications!
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?
The app sucks its not the phone

Well I guess it's not the phone but when I first got it, notifications came without any issues. And suddenly they stopped. :/

That's a bug in Facebook apps, sometimes you receive notification and sometimes you don't. Try other Facebook apps like friend-caster- they have an option to post notification to gmail.

Same problem
I had the same problem a while back, after much installing and uninstalling and double checking the notifications from my laptop and phone, I concluded that the problem was really the app, shows how buggy apps can be. I've been getting message notifications from the app (since I was offline in chat) but the messages were never shown under "Messages" nor in "Chat". Notifications on the other hand most of the time work properly. There were some instances on the previous updates that it did update, meaning there was a number there in a red circle, but when I opened my notifications, no actual new updates were there, although it appeared on my browser.

Yep, there's nothing we can do about it, unless we want to code a program ourselves. Well that's just me...

Actually, also I can't set SIM contacts to be visible, it's only possible to move them from SIM to phone. I'm using CM7 by mik..
In official ROMs there is an option to make SIM contacts visible.
If you can't make them visible, use export/import and choose import from Sim.

SIM Contacts are never displayed in CM7 by mik
If you need to import contacts from your sim to phone mem.
then press the menu key while in contacts >>Import/Export >> import from sim
and import all
but if you need to copy a newly saved contact in phone memory to sim, use an app called contacts2sim (get it from market/Google)
Hope this helps now

AT&T messaging app suddenly appeared today and took over my phone. I used Default App Manager to change back to the default texting app but the AT&T app still catches the incoming alerts.
First off...what in the world.....? And second, how do I rid my phone of it/never see it again?
Thanks
I called them and got them to disable it. Apparently they've been getting pissed off calls about this all day. Way to FAIL AT&T...

That's odd, I have an HTC One and for a while I used the stock ROM that came from AT&T and never had that issue. This is why I don't like carrier bloatware lol.
Mine was even worse, all of the sudden I had 8, yes, eight icons on my home screen. I thought for sure something had gone terribly wrong, ATT couldn't screw up that bad.
I'm going to make a quick list of useful apps that AT&T provides:
1.

I know what you mean. I wish HTC would have stock pop up notifications and a bit more customization to their messaging app.

The same thing just happened to my phone over the weekend. You can go into the settings and disable it but the better way is to call att customer care. They know of the problem and they have to remove it from the billing on you phone. After they do that, go to settings and press uninstall. It will uninstall all the updates to the app and then you will get a message stating that all messages will be handled by their default apps again.
I think it was an update to AT&T's "Visual Voicemail" app which was a really handy little program that I liked to use, but now with all the extra features its a pain in the butt!

Hi Guys,
I'm new to XZ2, I have it just for few days and already found a problem.
I do not receive any notification whats so ever from apps like Gmail, Snapchat or Whatsapp (Sometimes).
When I restart my phone yesterday, I was receiving notifications from whatsapp for a moment, then when Z2 fall a sleep, they've stoped after waking it up.
I've no idea what's wrong, I haven't have a problem with CM11 on my XL like that, Stamina is off, auto-sync is on and still I have to go to app in order to see if there's anything new inside app.
I'm running stock Vodafone Ireland rom, 4.4.2 with build number 17.1.2.A.0.314 (No update for it, check it already).
My model is D6503.
Any idea guys? I've already tried already turning on/off the auto-sync and restarting the phone.
Maybe you're using some app killer and that's the reason
Sent from Xperia Z2
No, nothing like that. I don't even have Clean Master installed which I used to have on my XL.
I don't receive notification from whatsapp sometimes either.
Everything stock z1.
Probably app problem, not phone.
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Free mobile app
But in my case, it happens to 3 apps and I didn't have a problem on CM11 on my XL.

Well i dont use snapchat, and gmail i dont use often. So i cant speak about that two apps.
It looks like Gmail is only giving me notification of new emails when phone is plugged into the charger, for Snapchat, I have no idea. Will try the original Snapchat app, not the 3rd party and will see if that worked.
Any1 have an idea with that? Gmail and Whatsapp are the only apps causing the problem and by that I missed important massages to me.

Setting > Personalization > Notification center
is that alright?
if these apps are allow in this center this can be issue with firmware (bug in notification center) so try to repair firmware by PCC

Hello all,
I'm having a strange problem with my S23 Ultra. I can receive notifications from Telegram, Messages and WhatsApp but not from my banking apps.
To diagnose the problem, I checked that notifications are enabled for the apps, no deep sleep, lock screen notifications not showing content for the apps, I enabled notification history and attempted to transfer money from one bank to another. I received no notification. Checked the notifications history and there was nothing for the app. However, luckily within the app it allows you to see sent notifications and it it's recorded that it's sent a notification of the transfer.
What else can I do to diagnose. This is only impacting some apps (mainly banking ones from what I can see) although it is difficult to tell for sure if you don't actually know whether the app sent a notification or not.
Have you tried to set the app's battery settings to unrestricted?

Did these apps send you notifications previously on prior devices?
Not OP, but at least on my device, prior to updating it to android 13 all apps would give me notications with no issue
Did you set the phone up from scratch or restore from a backup? If the latter, that's probably your problem. I would factory reset the phone and take a few hours to set everything up from scratch.
None , just OTA updated it.
I guess that is closer to backup though. I might factory reset it tomorrow when I have a bit of time then. Just a bit annoying, especially from an OTA update
