I've upgraded to official JB. Is there a way I can still get NVFlash?
Thanks in advance

As recently as last week. No. I am in the same boat and have checked several times to see if anything has changed. From what I've read it wont work currently. Also it sounds like it's not ever going to happen. Something with not being able to read the blob files once you're on the jb boot loader. I don't understand everything but that's what I know so far. Not possible right now.

Since I can't post in the dev section, I will just post my question here. I want to downgrade back to hc, and while I know there's a way, I was wondering what the success rate was like
So I've seen that some devices have had corrupted bootloaders/ get bricked/stop working properly when downgrading to hc. About what is the success rate of downgrading from .14 to .33?
Any help would be appreciated
You don't want to do that.

Risky but possible.
Sent from my tablet thing with XDA Premium.
Okay thanks so much for the replies. Glad I didn't do that then . That's the only way to downgrade other than unlocking the bootloader which is even more dangerous right?

Unlocking the bootloader is not dangerous (you can do dangerous things to the prime after, but not really accidentally)
If someone made a rom of HC then you could..
-unlock
-install cwm via Rom Manager
-boot into cwm, wipe, flash the rom..
but I doubt anyone would make a rom of HC because why would you? unless there was enough request for it.
Downgrade to .33

you can downgrade with adb shell
more instructions in that thread
noting extrimly, just use command by copiing it in to shell and you'll get profit
Disclaimer
While this process appears to work on everyone's device, you have to assume all risks due to unforeseen circumstances and need to understand there is a risk of bricking your tablet during the update.
Although someone else was successful in downgrading from ICS to Honeycomb, there has been a report of a TFP bootlooping. Everyone else has been successful in downgrading from ICS 9.4.2.13 to ICS 9.4.2.11.
UPDATE: 2 reports so far of tablets bootlooping after downgrading to Honeycomb.

Why is anyone downgrading?
HC being better or ICS being worse is likely a placebo affect.
If you are trying to fix GPS issues, GPS simply does not really work well at all.

IMHO ICS is not optimizied for now, thats whay people do downgrade
Example may games going good on HC, but dont work om ICS.
i think GPS is a hardware problem and no firmware will fix it.
if i'm wrong correct me.

GPS: Yes. But some people are using "My GPS worked better on HC" as an excuse.
Games: I've noticed zero difference. My tablet runs great now (but of course I am running a lightning fast custom Rom, which if not everybody does they are missing out).
Yeah its mostly for gameloft games as well as some rooted apps that have stopped working

This is very likely not a HC advantage or ICS con and more likely an issue from flashing over.
I don't know much about factory resetting on stock roms, but I know a wipe and flash of a custom rom would probably fix your issues (but you need to unlock bootloader, install CWM, then install a rom like Virtuous)
While we haven't looked at the JB update yet, it's rather likely ASUS prevents generating nvflash blobs on TF201 in the new update.
We recommend generating blobs prior to updating if you are unlocked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774352
Thanks for letting us know.

Does this mean we cannot unlock the BL anymore if we updated to JB and haven't unlocked already? Still holding out on the warranty.

Unlock and nvFlash are 2 different things... unlock will be possible... nvFlash may not be...

you could have just used adb to pull the files right after they were generated. use md5 or sha256 hash to really check if they are the same exact files on both locations.
'adb pull /sdcard/AndroidRoot'
edit: one thing i realized is that doing this procedure on windows is SO much harder than on linux. damn!

has anyone tried making a blob after JB? just wondering if this is still a "maybe" thing.

Do you know what the restore commands are for nvflash? I mean how can we restore the backups we now have (the blob files).
Since I'm guessing that the jb bootloader won't allow us to create nvflash blobs, I was wondering if flashing an older version of a rom would do anything to the bootloader, if so we'd be able to do something from there :0
Good Question!
Me too didn't make the backup. Newbee mistakes. I made today the unlock. What are the risks to downgrade with the official .28 update?
Thanks

Yep, you will be able to then use it as a doorstop.

Same as above or you could use it as a paperweight.
On a serious not guys, please try reading a little bit. If you try to go back to ICS bootloader without having your NVFLASH files already you are going to brick it.
I love my transformer. That said I probably won't get another one.
I held onto the stock updates until I thought I was ready to unlock come to find out I can no longer do the nvflash. Not mad or anything, just disappointed.
I'm definitely going to go with something that is more friendly to actual progress..... Asus seems to work against us every step..

Hello guys,
my aim is to revert back to ICS on my TF201 for using NVflash to backup. Has anybody succesfully tried to reflash and used NVflash?

You can't. ASUS told me to send it to them to revert. I suspect the bootloader would still be JB so you would still be screwed.

You would have to ask them if it would still be JB bootloader if you sent it in. Nobody on here has posted a way to do it and believe you me, I have been wanting the same.
If you are worried about Brick-Proofing, unless you are flashing often its not that big a deal so long as you follow the directions.
No matter what you do, to flash you have to unlock. Once unlocked there is NO WAY to re-lock. The device will ALWAYS say "unlocked" on boot up so a TWRP backup will serve the same purpose to get you back to a stock OS.
Just don't do anythig stupid, follow directions, don't flash a ROM with recovery on it and you should be safe.
I'm very new to all this and realize I already made a few mistakes. I have a ME7 gs4. I have it rooted (the bootloader is still locked) and deleted all the bloatware. I now realize that by doing this I pretty much ruined my chances of upgrading my phones software. I know the newest upgrade is still android 4.2 but I am concerned for when 4.3 or 4.4 comes out. Is there any way to restore the Verizon and Samsung bloatware with a locked bootloader so I can upgrade in the future? Any help and advise would greatly be appreciated.
Rooting and deleting bloatware is far from a mistake... you pretty much have to do it if you want this thing to run decently.

Perhaps I should have elaborated what that link was... it's a guide to get back to stock firmware, meaning that just follow that guide and you'll be able to update normally if you wish
Thank you so much. I appreciate it :good:

Question. So I am able to do this even though I have ME7 on my phone with a locked bootloader? I was under the impression that I can't flash anything with a locked bootloadr.

Yes you can do that with a locked bootloader. The procedure doesn't touch the bootloader (although Odin can flash bootloaders).
It's been a while since my last "modding" of my tablet, but it definitely needs an update now...
Things have changed so much though, I can't really catch up all alone.
My last ROM was hairybean 2.2, with androwook modded TWRP @2.5
All good with that, but apparently I can't flash newer roms, nor find an updated recovery.img to flash via fastboot.
I can't find clear info about current firmware, matching firmware for different roms, or bootloaders.
Can anyone point out what should I do to update my Transformer Prime please?
Thank you so much!

Well the first thing we need to know is your current bootloader version ..
Thx Josh
Thank you for the answer @lj50036,
Where can I check that?
Yesterday I've upgraded to hairy bean 2.31, but WiFi and bluetooth are not working anymore. I've probably messed up something, I would like to check my current firmware and bootloader, to see if I can update those 2 at first.
I'm struggling to find a newer TWRP as well, I've found only broken links for downloads that are no longer available.
Thanks again!

Boot into the bootloader also known as fastboot, the screen that has the 3 or 4 icons on it .....
In the upper left of this screen you will find the bootloader version should start with a 'epad'
Thx Josh

What should I do now?
Thx Josh, I'm on http://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-prime/development/rom-katkiss-5-1-tf201-22-t3080892 now!
What can I say! Life is beautiful
Is there any better rom out there in your opinion?
Thanks a lot.
