[Q]PDA in ODIN, need help ASAP!! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so i messed up my brother's phone and it doesn't boot. Since it can go into downloading mode, i thought i may get away with flashing the stock Jelly bean firmware through ODIN but i was wondering if i can replace the PDA file with a custom kernel for Jelly bean for my phone?
Please reply ASAP!

Actually, members of Xda. Thanks for nothing! Cannot believe that so many users online, do not know anything about ODIN or just can't be bothered?
Anyways i've fixed it somehow. Trial and error is far more likely to get me somewhere.

[q] no signal

Hi guys im a li'l bit frustrated with this phone im trying to fix. i was able to flash it now on ODIN using this .MD5 I9100DXKL3_I9100OLCKL2_I9100DXKL1_HOME.tar but the phone doesnt have signal? the history of the phone, got hard bricked by my big brother without knowing about the brick bug on the kernel. the phone was then revived by medusa box, had issue on flashing it on ODIN. now almost FULLY working hahaha LOL. after i flashed it the phone has no signal at all, could it be that the baseband of the phone shows UNKNOWN?. Any ideas or clues even link for other faster download of firmware. i would GLADLY appreciate.

[Q] Get rid off 3 (three) brand to get jellybean

Hello XDA
I've been doing some research on my problem on dozens og forums, but I still haven't got what I'm looking for.
The problem:
I have a danish 3 (three) branded GT-I9100, which doesn't allow me to get the new android 4.1 update, as they haven't infected the update with their 3 junk yet.
I'm not using any of their applications or shortcuts, and would very much like to get rid of everything that has something to do with 3.
I need to backup the stock firmware in order to keep my warranty if something goes wrong, but I haven't been able to find out how to do it, because my phone has a very strange kernel: 3.0.15-1114882 [email protected] #3
I hope someone can help me. I'm not completely noob, i've been rooting my previously android phones without any problems, but I just can't figure out how to do it with this kernel.
Best regards
Morten

O really?
Start here https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+install+jb+on+i9100.
Then go to the official i9100 JB thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487".
Sent from my digital submersible hovercraft.
1.just flash the nordic jellybean.
2.you dont really get a "standard backup".what you would do is just reflash the firmware your on now (remove yellow triangle etc if needed) then send your phone for warranty.
3.if your phone ever got totally bricked, it wouldnt matter what rom your on if samsung couldnt boot it either to tell.
4.so get the nordic jb rom from sammobile, flash it with odin, root with philz kernel.read about efs backup and nand backup and spockys thread about simlock...lol

First you need to find out if your phone is network locked. Theres an app for that. (search xda/play store) the same app will be able to unlock it for you too but you will need to root your phone.. see my signature for your best option as its root with stock recovery. Your next step go to sammobile.com and find and download your current firmware from there. Then find a jelly bean rom I'm using nordic but search and see what sounds best to you... There are also custom roms you may wish to choose (wannam, jellybam, there are many) find one for you with the search box or browse the forum for them. there are custom kernels as well (jeboo, philz, there are many) find one for you as above or use what your rom choice is packed with.
I cant recommend enough using mobile odin (Play store) will cost you a couple of your currency but its worth every penny.
LASTLY AND VERY MUCH MOST IMPORTANTLY DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE 10000000% HAPPY TO DO IT ONE SINGLE MISTAKE AND YOU'LL BE BACK HERE ASKING FOR HELP TO UNBRICK IT.

But how will I find the firmware I'm currently on? My warranty is spoiled if the phone isn't carrier branded,
as I have to hand it to my local 3 store to get them to send it to repair.
Perhaps my question should've been more like this:
How can I backup my branded firmware on my galaxy s2 from 3 (three)
Perhaps I'm a bit noob afterall, as I haven't seen that answer in your post or the others posts.
Best regards

You havent seen it because it doesnt exist.I dont know how much of a noob you are, but you go to sammobile and get the stock firmware you are on now, and flash that if you are sending your phone back for warranty.
Eg.Im using spanish jb rooted because UK jb rom not out yet.My original software was I9100XWLPT (which is UK unbranded 4.0.4).
So if Im sending my phone back, I just flash the LPT rom from Sammobile; and check no traces of root are on my phone.
So, what you think a backup is/means, is the same result as just flashing the stock rom your on now.
You can check or wait to see if someone can confirm what level of, or if kies can make a backup of your stock rom, as I dont use kies or havent seen anyone using it.They just use odin.

[Q] Help with RSDLite

I've been searching all over, where can I find a thread, or even the download link for RSDLite and the stock image (Not sure what it's called, I'm no expert at this). I'm on the leaked Jelly Bean update, and want to go back to stock so I can get the official OTA update to my phone. I would really appreciate instructions on how to do it, or even just link me the thread! On an unrelated note, I need to send my phone back to Verizon for a separate issue it is having which is why I would like it back to stock!
Thank you so much in advance.
I got RSDLite from here
and stock roms from here
let me know if you need any more help

post an Odin screenshot if it doesn't go through
Hi guys!, first of all thank you for your support, here are the updates, i try flashing it via odin and a error was show and it was imposible to flash it that way, because i was desperate and impatient for having it back, i talk to a "expert" friend of mine, he told me that the problem was that the bootloader was locked by verizon, thats why i cant flash it, so he rooted the phone, and download e-z unlocker app or something like that, he install the app and then proceed to unlock the bootloader, everything went well, the turn off the phone for putting it on download mode but the phone wont turn on, it doesnt even charge it was dead, hard bricked :crying: ,so i reallyze that all my impatience went wrong and now i have a 900 dlls brick (im from mexico thats whhy is so expensive, a couple months ago) and well the only brigth side is that im going to try guarantee and say that the phone just experience a sudden death case and hopefully the belive me i´ll keep you guys updated! thanks for the support!
first of all, I asked for an Odin screenshot.
second of all, how can the bootloader be locked by Verizon if it's not a Verizon phone? i9300 is an international unlocked phone. If you messed with the bootloader, then I don't think there's anything you can do

samsung galaxy s2 plus (gt-I905) soft brick issue

hello.I bought a new samsung galaxy s2 plus which had a laggy stock rom(4.1.2).So i tried to flash a new rom, a ressurection remix 4.4.2, after rooting it, of course. The guide said that i needed a stock rom upgraded to 4.2.2, but since my phone didnt have ota support and i felt lazy, i thought that flashing it from a stock 4.1.2 wouldnt give me issues.Turns out, i was wrong, as now i am stuck in a bootloop.I still can access to my custom recovery tho, so i assume it is softbricked.Problem is, i followed all the guides on the internet, none of which worked for me.In odin, i tried to flash the .tar file of the storck rom zip, but it gives me a fail error after nand write start.I tried with kies, but kies keeps in a "connecting" state with my phone.I still havent tried flashing the stock rom through custom recovery, as im afraid i would do more harm than good to my already hald dead phone.
Please someone help me
