Hey
At the german forum "android-hilfe.de" we are looking for whatsapp on our Tablets,
but the workarounds with carbon-backup and SRT-Guard don't work.
Does anyone have a working WhatsApp on his Xperia Tablet S?

Is it possible to use the new Chaton app released by Samsung on the tab, it shows up as incompatible however surely it's just a web based protocol that does not relie on any phone based technologies? Would be good to get this working. Thanks in advance?

I'm trying my method now, but can't get ChatON working om my phone for now, because I don't get the verification SMS on my phone.
Will report ASAP. This should work I guess...
I'm still not getting the verification code by SMS...
If you have the 3G version you can get it to work. It is working on my tab

For whatapp u can just copy the titanium backup(app+data) from your phone and restore. Just make sure u register whatsapp on mobile first. Maybe will work for Charon also

first time you login to facebook xperia inside you do it from official facebook app, but i think you need it to be installed
I misspoke, the application is in any case impossible to remove without root
But I delete my account in facebook application because it consumes too much battery. So do inside facebook xperia 2.0 operate without being connected in facebook app ?
mine seems to not be able to sync sometimes..
anyone else having issues?

I'm using the Serenity Rom v2 (in WT19a ), and integration with facebook and timescape are not working. I mark the box, it opens the facebook, loading appears, but then disappears and the box is unchecked again. it's funny because if I open the facebook app for it runs smoothly.
Sorry for english, I was using Google Translator.
I noticed while reading about the xperia tablet z, the launcher has a messaging shortcut. Look in the top left of the tablet z, third icon. Will the xperia tablet z support messaging???

I think that's a typo, though I agree it is confusing. Afaik you can only send SMS/MMS with a working SIM card. Since the WIFI only version doesn't have a SIM slot (trust me, I checked ) I think it is impossible to send SMS/MMS with the WIFI only version.
You can, however, install Google Hangouts and send instant messages to your Google contacts. I think Hangouts is very promising and could be replacing Whatsapp for me when it becomes more widely used. It also backs up your conversations in the cloud which is a big :good: for me personally.

What makes the LTE version not able to make phone calls? Is the a hardware limitation? Or a custom firmware would manage to do it?
Hangouts (and even Talk, actually) have a pretty good sync with desktop app, which is crucial for me. And I agree, the cloud history is also a big plus.
Thanks and greetings.

Did you got an answer? I got the LTE version... no phonecalls (outgoing/ingoing), no data connection... what is for then? only for sms?
Any body can help / clarify?
EDIT: data connection is solved. APN was not configured at all. Will finally be enabled the voice call on this tablet? (any cooked rom?)
Hi. Can anyone suggest a good alternative for hangouts/gtalk? I still use it a lot as most of my friends are on android and I've seen a couple of apps from the store that says they support gtalk but i prefer to hear some user experience of anyone used those. Thanks

hi,
i'm using im + pro for my Google and icq contacts.
you can always go with non-paid version, which has no chat history backup and few things removed.
I also use im+ best alternative app IMHO.

Thanks. That's the first app that came to mind. Gonna try the free app for a few days to see for myself and go pro if I like it.
Thanks to all who responded as well
