I just rooted my EVO LTE and am trying to install CM 10. Everytime I do I get a boot loop. I've rebooted multiple times with the same result.
I have S-Off, tampered. TWRP is my recovery along with GOO Manager. I tested that I have root and super user with some apps from the Play Store.
I realize that I'm probably leaving a ton of stuff out, but if you have any suggestions or questions please let me know.
Thanks
This should be in Q&A not Development
Did you wipe before flashing?

Try installing the kernel manually and separately from the ROM

Ok sorry if this has been discussed before but this is the first time I Rooted a phone. Last night I followed the Guide and sucessfullly Rooted My EVO 3D. I have S-OFF and Titanium Backup shows super user access.
I seleceted "NO" to clockwork recovery during the rooting process because the guide said that it could crash and I wanted to make the process as seamless as possible. Now I want to install a custom ROM and want to know how to install Clockwork Recovery manually on my phone.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

+1. I'm used to using clockworkmod even though TWRP has more features. Use Rom Manager app to flash clockworkmod 4.0.1.5

Viper all the way.
I used Unrevoked, everything went smooth. I currently have TeamWin's recovery, but can I also install ClockworkRecovery? I have no idea if they would interfere with one another, or if having both is even possible?
If you use the revolution tool again its gonna tell you that you already have s off but it asks you if you want to download and install clockwork recovery. Y and enter and you got clockwork Found this by accident when I tried rooting a friends phone but didn't know he had s off already.

Nice Dood. This did it for me, even though i already had S-Off for like 8 days, I was lost. Does what it says, asks to download CWM since ur already S-off'd... AWESOME
Hope someone can help me.
I have tired to root my EVO LTE with the RegawMOD EVO 4G LTE method but keep on getting stuck on the "Flashing Recovery". I was able to successfully root my phone with the Zedomax method.
I have tired all method with no luck.
Please help!
you're posting this in the wrong section man..This is for developers.
I suggest reading everything you can in this thread

I have read all 48 pages
OP...your thread has been moved to the HTC EVO 4G LTE Q&A section. Threads created to ask a question about your device should be here, not in Development.
i had to run it 5 times to get recovery on my buddies LTE. Try running it again.
i had the same problem when using regawmod rooter.. it keep hangin when it was time to flash recovery.. so i had to flash the recovery manual.. just to to team win website..twrp.. it will ask u what phone u have click on evo 4g lte and it tells u how to flash the recovery.. there is 3 diff ways its easy.. u can use an app.. there's away to flash using terminal emulater also and using fastboot.. check out the website thats what i did...
You might have a driver issues. I helped out a few people on here and the majority of the problems was driver related.

If it goes into a boot loop it probably means you are son. You will need a pc to fast boot the boot.img.

well i know how to fast boot but it wont get past the boot loop
Which roms are you trying to flash? Also if you think it's twrp try downgrading to twrp 2.3 from there website. Flash it using fastboot

If your S-on, you need to flash the boot.img. By going to fastboot and flash it there right after you install your rom. All roms have a boot.img in the zip folder.

Try downgrading twrp thru bootloader the version available to flash it is 2.3.1, and it's on the twrp website then try to flash any other rom, also you can download the script Updater and place it in the Rom zip, instructions also in the twrp website... Good luck

Lol. Lets be nice now. But this is a great example of why people just start telling others to search. All of the answers are in a touch reach. Idk about everyone else but I learned almost all of what I know now through searching. Even after posting a question and continuing my search I'd end up with my answer and solution before anyone replied.

Hey guys I have a note ii but one of my friends has an HTC One and she's having some trouble and I am unfamiliar with HTC stuff and need some help. She rooted and unlocked and has TWRP installed. I've tried flashing Roms thru TWRP and I can only get a stock build to flash sucessfully and even that failed on the first try but when I try to flash clean ROM it always fails and won't work. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks

Possibly an outdated twrp recovery. Try installing the newest version and see how that goes.

What all are you wiping in twrp? What rom are you trying to flash? Maybe she needs s-off?
Sent from my HTC One
Is her one S-off? If not, I believe you'll need to flash the bootIMG/kernel seperately thru fastboot . I'm guessing cuz I have HTC Evo LTE and it's the sane way if you're not S-off.
If you're unfamiliar, I bet there's guides stickied in general or Q&A.
Good luck.

I wipe everything when I do it. I've been rooting for a long time now and I'm pretty good but I've never owned an HTC device so I'm not sure how to check if she has s-off but she is rooted. I was able to flash a bone stock 4.3 ROM but I couldn't get clean ROM to flash

I update that thru the goo app right?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
You Do NOT need s-off to flash any current ROM's on the one. And you don't have to flash kernels separately like on older htc phones, so don't worry about that.
Honestly I really don't see why your having trouble with clean rom... What exactly is it doing when you try to flash it?

I was rooted and soff long ago and I currently have a cm 10.2 rom installed. I installed supersu from the playstore to use AV4 on a 4.3 rom and I didn't realize I would lose root.
I can still access bootloader and it says I'm soff. I've completely forgotten how to root again. I've looked at most of the root guides on different forums but I'm still at a loss.
Can anybody direct me on what I need to do please?

In 10.2 ( dastins ) superuser is located in the settings menu.
Reread the op, the instructions are there.

Ok thank you for your response hossman. The only thing I see regarding superuser I dastins OP is to toggle back and forth in the settings between apps and apps & adb. I'm not sure if that's what your referring to.
My issue is that when I try to access an app that needs root it tells me my phone is not rooted.
Perhaps you can elaborate for me just a little please. I've literally spent hours last night and today trying to figure out what I need to do. But I'm at a loss. Thank you

Maybe you need to reflash, superuser works out of the box when following the instructions given

Guess I needed to flash the supersu update zip and then flash a ROM. Voila. I searched so hard for such an easy fix. Thanks for your help hoss
