go to superusers app, then go to the root app, tap the garbage button on the bottom
this will forget the root access you granted

It seems that my root permission on entire phone is Messed up what do you think? My super super user apk won't update binaries for some reason

are you getting an error when it says
"Gaining root access"
if you still have problems, go to the bootmenu recovery > system keeper > install root
then reboot, and update the su binary

Omg it happened again! Same thing has anyone ran into this I forgot how I fixed it!!

You have to uninstall Superuser then install it, to the newest version. Or update it through SafeStrap with this http://download.chainfire.eu/315/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip

The thing is rooted ..there shouldnt be questions about this...but try an app that needs root access and se if superuser pops up asking to allow

Download an app like titanium backup and see if a pop up for superuser comes up. Or download a terminal app and type su. If you get a # you are rooted.
There should be an app in your app drawer called "Superuser"....
If you got that then you're rooted
Thank you guys. I have rooted my Vibrant with one click and it works yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really. He could have that App downloaded from the market but since he doesn't have root he wouldn't be able to run it. But it would still be there.
get app from market... Root Checker... i rooted with Superoneclick and it said I was rooted, but really wasn't, took a dozen reboots and 4 more tries with Superoneclick to get it.
If you don't have an app called SUPERUSER! your not rooted!!
yeah I usually look to see if the app "superuser" is installed...

I already install the superuser app, do i need to configure something else ?
Superuser will prompt you when it's needs root access for something (i.e. using a application requiring root) and you will have the option to allow or deny this access. You shouldn't need to configure the application itself unless you just want to change some basic settings. Hope it helps!

Give Titanium Backup a try. It needs root and can backup your apps+data. A must have tool.

This work for the AT&T it might work of you guy as will. You need someone to test it. You need to be on a stock rooted and no custom recovery.
You might whan to try this on MD2 stock rooted.

I was able to update my I337 to the 7/9 release of MF3 and retain root.
1. Install VooDoo OTA Root Keeper, make sure all boxes are checked (may have to reinstall superuser and grant to the app)
2. Reboot, double check VooDoo OTA Root Keeper again has all checked boxes, then tell it to save root
3. Defrost/Enable AT&T Software Update, download it and apply
4. Reboot, Use VooDoo OTA Root Keeper to restore root
5. Profit

I suppose that would be some actual profit. There were some users stating that this method would work for our phone in other threads but most of us don't want to risk it or be without a custom recovery in the first place. But something like this, for me, will be given a shot later on today when my AT&T S4 arrives

For the fun of it I tried VooDoo and SuperSU Pro's feature and TWRP installed but of course it didn't install the update so I'll have to wait until I get home to put the stock recovery back on and try again. Poo.
I'm sure folks have already thought of this but check out the other Galaxy S4 forums like the Sprint one. Maybe certain items are common in the updates and can be flashed on our VZW device.

Maybe factory reset, reinstall voodoo root keeper and try again???? Update should have worked based on the steps you took. I've never heard of an ota not installing because of root.

Can I update my rooted 4.2 to 4.3

I recently rooted my Verizon Galaxy s4 on 4.2 and just noticed today 4.3 pushed down on my phone as available. If I update will I brick my phone or should it work?
You will get an error message because your phone is modified. No update for you, you will have to flash back to stock unrooted.

I'm glad somebody here is willing to help you, but it's important to note that you're posting in the wrong forum. This forum is for the S4 Active available on AT&T and internationally which is a different phone than the regular S4. The forum you are looking for where you will get better help related to your device can be found here.
Ha! After my answer I went straight to Sammobile and started searching for 4.3 lol, now I realised that he asked about S4.. thanks for clearing that out!
