R: [Q] launcher not staying in memory
Do you have the stock Rom or a custom Rom?in my stock Rom it is in memory...anyway you can try to modify the build.prop file and set the launcher to stay in memory...I am noob, but reading the build.prop of experience by Divaksh it seems like that for forcing an app in memory you need to add a line like this:
system.keep_app_1=full name of the app (in your case com.sonyericsson.home)
Hope that helped you...

how about the reverse?
For example, i have a game that does not have an exit button, so i have to exit it using the home button and kill the huge ram consuming process in "applications" under "setting". (I know that i don't have to do it, but it freaks me out not to. Maybe that's what too much years of windows does to you.)
is it possible to set an application to automaticaly be removed from ram after you're done using it?

Ok First! I finally upgraded From my X8 To my New Neo ... I update it to 2.3.4 via pc companion... Everything Ok so far
But when i have various apps open! and i go back! My launcher restarts! :s thats very annoying! There's anyway to fix that?
i suppose that it's because of the Android's RAM management. i had the same issue (can't really call it an issue, but whatever ) with stock launcher, but no such problems since using GoLauncher EX. try it out.
Thanks for answering,,pff ive tried it! But i like SE style xS

Even after a reboot?
Do.not use task killer and try instal v6 supercargher from dev section.

Why not to use Task Killer? Ok i'll try to install that... Does my phone neef to be rooted?
Sent from my MT15i using XDA App
Yes, you will need root for that.
Do you have a lot of widgets?
Some task killer is to agresive and can kill your launcher or even whole system.
V6 does all that but providing MAX safety and giving more free RAM.

uff i'll have to root my phone... just one question why anybody uses the root option on flashtool? .-.! is it bad?

I think that we need an official SE task manager like on the samsung devices ( i don like them) But thats one good thing about them!
Sony need to make one for us
Root it using zergrush method and then install V6 SuperCharger (as said before)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353786.
Since i have done that i dont have anymore redraws (even when i use webgl test page in default browser and then exit, wich i think is very memory intensive)
I cant install supercharger pff it says :
Launcher status .... To weak what does that means? ><

Um yes, I thought that battery problem only happened when you downgraded to 2.3.3 or 2.3.2 or something? That's the impression that I got at least.

Are you using any task killer? I guess that not because of too many used RAM...
Install ZDBox and add on your desktop its widget called task killer.
Other thing which is very important to uninstall every app which you dont use. It consumes RAM even not opened.
And last thing - install CPUspy and run it. It will show how is your CPU running on frequencies and how is under pressure or idle.

It seems that he definitely dont want to install another ROM.
So please do not recommend this as first solution to all-kind problems.
Ok I am not sure if it will work for some people cause they are not using too many apps like me -125 at least. So just go to { } Developer Options in setings and scroll down - Background procces limit - 3 processes at most. It also improvers Supercharging
Cool I will try it, I am using a 2gig sd-ext4 partition which is full with apps so my ram Max's out a lot.

Yeah try even 4 bg procceses . Have you noticed that when you exit a game you wait around 5-10 secs to launcher to show. When you press teh app drawer every app is there. That means that the launcehr is succesefully locked by (ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1) but when you game you have 1bg process witch is the launcher. Then you have gapps on background there are 2 and smthing other till they are 3 bg process. so that why i use 3 teh standart limit is 1 so the launcher is locked but its to active... if you get it xD. Also try ading Zipalign apks at boot. It will also help for more free ramhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1266735

I have exactly the same problem with my Xperia Sola and I'm not able to find out a solution: I only have to reboot the phone every day.
Have you find the reason of this behaviour?

Change rom. There is a rom similar to jjs hybrid. Try it.

R: [Q] mutliple logcat process take all my ram..
I tried to disable the logcat by adding the line "logcat.live=disable" in build.prop file, but it doesn't work: multiple logcat process start growing as before.
Now I'm going to change the ROM.

What do you mean: disable logcat in build.prop or change the ROM?
Anyway, at the end I have been able to find out the reason of the multiple logcat process: they are created by avast! antivirus app.
Infact, after it, I have frozen the app and now the RAM memory is completely free from any logcat process!

well after changed the rom and after 2 month the problem is here again.. so the problem is not the rom but something else.. i think the sony firmware o any application..

From the Play Store, install Os Monitor (eolwral): this very good app will show you the "owner" of the logcat process in memory.

this is the answer from avast:
Hello,
I talked to a developer about your problem. He says he heard about this issue a few times, but has never been able to reproduce it or figure out what's the actual problem on the customer device. We suspect it's either weird ROM/device problem or some other app trying to kill us (something like a battery saver app).
He suggests that disabling App Shield's "Scan on execution" and avast! PIN (the pin protection setting in mobile security settings) and maybe rebooting the device should fix the issue. You'll have to live without those features.
Could you please let me know how you decided and wether the suggested deactivations helped?
Thanks,
Werner

I also wrote to avast! support team before my last post, and the answer was almost the same: I haven't tried what they suggested, but my suspect is that the problem could be caused by a bad RAM memory management implemented by Sony.
Infact, we have to consider that they recommend to reboot the phone every day, so before that the memory situation becomes critical.
