I can´t change the backlight button in xperia neo in UHD 3
First Mount System R/W with rom toolbox or es file explorer
Go to sys/devices/i2c-0/0-0040/leds (because when i use the other route they have a shortcut to this route)
Have 2 folders:
button-backlight-rgb1
button-backlight-rgb2
When i change the brigness and reboot this dont change
Please help
R: [Q] Increase backlight button in UHD 3
Every reboot those files get rewrited by another file called something like hw_config.sh.
Find it and edit it with your values.
Take a cwm backup before doing it.

hi... i have a sony ericsson stock rom can someone help me with this problem? my x10 mini is always in auto dim/brightness but when i go to Setting>Sound & Display>Brightness there are no Auto Brightness to check or uncheck on... can some one help me with my problem.. is so irritating... and i know it can eat some of battery power...
Hello,
you can disable the auto brightness only by disabling the controller interface of the sensor!
You can do this by editing the hw_config.sh file stored in /etc with root explorer
1. change the line: i2c_pwn_als with i2c_pwn
2. set permissions to rwxr--r-- (744) if they are changed! VERY IMPORTANT!
3. reboot and njoy the missing sensor ;-)
Bye Bye

There are several files inside the zip. Do we have to copy files to corresponding system folders and set permission individually or can we flash the zip through recovery after removing the build.prop?

T's fully working in mine!!!
Don flash the update directly... extract the contents of the zip file and delete build.prop from it... then using root explorer go to system/build.prop and add the lines from attachment file in post 3 to it... copy the other files to their appropriate locations, set proper permissions and reboot

We must have to flash it through cwm and then edit the build.prob.
If we move all the files to their respective location then while moving files to system/framework the framework.apk will be replaced and then it will start force close the rootexplorer and we wont be able to set its permission to 644!! Thus framework will get changed and we will be unable to change its permission and also we cant open setting and many other things that are framework dependent!!! finally we need to factory reset or reinstall the rom!
It happened with me so I'm warning you!!!
So just flash the file then after edit the build.prob using cwm as this app integration needs to replace the framework!!

Do this and all will be ok
First of all, please note that your computer must be rooteado and admit that you modify the system and in some countries you may lose your computer warranty.
First of all, you need to download two files: Root Explorer and a modified file system that will do the miracle. I leave the links for you to download:
Root Explorer
Modified system file
Now copy these two files to the external memory and then proceed to manually install Root Explorer.
When you first run Root Explorer, Root will ask permission to continue its execution. You obviously agree.
Now pay attention to the following instructions because if a wrong file modified, hate me forever xD.
Find the folder called system and you enter into it and looking for the folder called etc and you enter too
Now you push a button located on the top of the screen called Mount R / W. At the touch will be renamed Mount R / O.
Now find the file called default_gain.conf and stop sticking your finger over it to make you see a window with options. You select the option to rename the file and you add a. Bak at the end of the file name and save it there. This will serve to leave a copy of the original file in case of emergency.
Now from the same Root Explorer should go to external memory and copy the modified file you copied earlier. For that you must close and reopen Root Explorer, go to the folder mnt and then enter the folder extSdCard that would be the directory of the memory card.
Now find the changed file, leave your finger stuck on it until you see other options, choose Copy.
Now carefully press the Back button on your Galaxy SIII twice. Looking the system folder, then you log into etc and there you must press the button that says Paste to copy the
Finally off and then turn on your Samsung Galaxy SIII and now start enjoying the real power does your smartphone.
You should know that the power of volume increases in the audio output for headphones, for the speaker and for Bluetooth stereo headsets. In the case of the speaker, is not leaving the ring volume and notification to the maximum, otherwise it will saturate. If you take ear-type headphones in, please be careful with the volume because you could cause you damage your ear.
Alternative use one of the tools on Play that boosts volume .
Or Boefella kernal that allows setttings adjustment of sound levels .
Volume +
Or the Default_gain.conf post in Themes and Apps by Meltus .

Anyone tried boosting the volume in CyanogenMod 10.2?
Hello everyone!
This is my first topic.Just thought to share this..(TESTED ON XPERIA U)(This may work on any android device)
#ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP BEFORE MODIFYING SYSTEM FILES!!
#I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED
If you want that your system font and icons be increased /decreased without the use of any app, then follow these steps-
1-find system folder usong root browser
2- in the system folder, you will find a file namely "build.prop"
3-open it and find-
ro.sf.lcd_density
4- change its value within the following range [150-350]
5 save it and yhen reboot
Voila!you're done!
NOTE - the lower the value the shorter the fonts amd icons will be..
NOTE-do not exceed the range given above otherwise either the fonts will be unreadable or will be so big you will have to scroll for each alphabet!
If any problems occur, just post it..i will try to fix it ASAP.

how can i change app names in the app drawer ?
Hi, I'm relatively new to the rooting scene and I've been having trouble editing system files on my s3 gt-i9300
I'm running liquidsmooth V3.2 (stable) custom rob which is based on kitkat
My problem is this: whenever I touch the screen the capacitive buttons at the bottom light up for 5 seconds, this seems like a minor annoyance but over the course of the day it kills my battery (no setting to turn them off). I have tried going to /sys/class/leds/ and editing the maximum brightness files for the buttons to read 0 or just delete them but it won't let me save or delete the file, I've tried a few file managers and text editors but currently have Es file manager (and text editor) because I read it works... now here's the tricky bit, I already allowed R/W in both the Es root menu and on the file its self R/W/E for all users and triple checked that Es had SU permission, can someone please tell me what I'm missing? Or if there's another way to turn the lights off while keeping the buttons? Thanks in advance
Tl;Dr: can't turn off leds on the capacitive buttons on my s3, can't edit system files
