[Q] What makes a CM10 mod Official? - AT&T LG Optimus G

I noticed that we have an unofficial CM10.1 ROM but, that it also has "Unofficial" by it. What would make it an official rom? Not saying I don't trust the dev or anything but, I'm just curious if the CM team has a vetting process or something.

Everything has to work and has to be recognized by the official cm developers. So it kinda has to be approved by them.

Yeah once that happens the developer becomes an official CM maintainer for our device.

Where can I find CM9?

I was under the impression that there is CM9 for the Fascinate and every link I find leads me to CM7.
What's the deal?

If you want the root CM9 directly from Team HackSung without the cherry picks you can get each release here:

I was just posting the link to the source. Besides, I'm surprised no one has said "Why would you want CM9 anyway instead of AOKP?".

I agree with the others, why would anybody want to wait for Samsung butchered jb when you can have it now pretty much stock as Google intended. I'm waiting till they get a little bit more complete / stable then jumping ship!

I agree with you on waiting for a stable release. I need something I know will work, but I'm very excited that CM has moved to JB so quickly.
The only OTA update I need is a download of my next custom ROM.

There's no way to port that over. It requires TW framework and libs which cannot be ported over because it is very different.

CM10 > Samsung in general. I had to briefly flash back to my stock Samsung ICS nandroid backup today after running CM10 for the past 5 days, and it seemed incredibly slow and choppy compared to CM10. I was blown away at the difference.

4.4 ROM?

Anyone know when we'll see the first stock Google ROM for our Verizon s4? Or any developers out there working on one? Want one bad!

(Patience is key) I think some developers are working on it now, but it is a challenge to port a new version of stock android on to the jfltevzw because the device is different than your average nexus device. Then you also have to take in the fact that devs are working on other projects on the moment and wish not to abandoned them.
Thank you for the post. And I do understand that. Very anxious!

New ROM possibilities?

Has anyone thought of restarting the rootbox project for 4.3/4.4
Also I've been seeing a lot of Omnirom around, I'm not sure if its just like PAC/Carbon/LS etc....I think omnirom actually brings in new features

yeah work has got in the way but thursday night i shall be back at it, works great just gotta figure out 1 issue before i can let anyone else try, roms dont work well without sdcards mounting
So what's special about omnirom ? I've heard of new features that aren't in the other said like ROMs... I believe I brought it to your attention when you had just released a pre-alpha 4.4 release. I'm pretty sure you had heard of it before I mentioned it

Its a bunch of people that were in cm and left when cm sold out for money
I had 4.3 running on i717 just didn't post because its not easy looking after a bunch of ROMs, I've cut down so 4.4 will come when its ready

Help me choose a ROM

Carbon
Vanir
Or Omni (if we ever get an updated version)
I'm interested in what you think not what features I want.

Tbh none of them. I'd go with Viper or CM there the most stable.

I second this. I will also add Santods NuSense One Max Dlx Rom.
Gingerbread.
I personally have had uber awesome stability and performance with ProBam if you want to give that a go combined with jakethemorris's kernel w/dt2w. And this is coming from a guy who never uses CM ROMs and mostly stick with Sense based (Viper or NuSense)....most importantly choose which flavor you prefer duke.

Thanks. Not a big sense fan and cm doesn't have all the cool features of some of the others. Omni is doing a lot of awesome stuff. Maybe I'll wait. In the mean time I'll check out probam.
