Hi guys,
Been searching around and doing my research on several android tablets (old, new, yet to be released), but i realised non actually have a vga-out adapter or support this via a propietary connector like the Ipad does.
This kinds of limits the use case scanarios for android tablets in the workplace.
Can anyone direct me to a particular model that actually supports vga?
appreciate the help!!!
Hmm.....no one has any idea?
Appreciate any help, thanks!
Im curious about the same thing. My searches brought me to this thread.
Ok heres the dilemma. - Please can you check my though process here......
Ultimately its a Galaxy Tab vs Nexus 10 question but before you all yawn, for the purpose of this comparison, lets ignore which tablet is better in every respect except sending the screen to a TV in the room.
I'm figuring out a solution for a company with 5 meeting rooms in new premises. They have all their content on Google Mail / Drive and want to present to customers or have internal meetings and look up mails / watch Youtube videos / have video conference meetings on Hangout / Skype. They want to 'upgrade' from a desktop PC linked to a wall mounted TV. They want to buy cheap LCD TVs. The rooms all have a wall mounted power socket and ethernet port and wifi in the room. All directors have Samsung Galaxy 3S phones and all staff are being encouraged to move to this phone.
[I started by buying and testing one of those mini-android HDMI sticks but there are loads of security issues. This is a non starter. The Apps administrator has banned these devices. I can detail the security issue in another post if anyone wants to know.]
I have settled on a tablet solution. Its portable, secure and cheap.
Here is the problem...
If I go with Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 then I get Allshare Cast. This means with a cheap dongle available now, I can retrofit a cheap TV and get pretty good screen share.
If I go with Nexus 10 I get Android 4.2 with multiple share, and Miracast but I am worried Miracast is gonna be like WiFi N where its not really available for another year or so. I cant find a dongle that is actually for sale and I saw a review on the Nexus 10 which said that Miracast is not on the device even though the OS support it.
I was wondering if I could get 'Allshare Cast' working on the Nexus as a stopgap until Miracast works?
Alternatively, I get the Galaxy tab now and then upgrade to Jellybean 4.2 in due course?
Last question... Will Samsung Galaxy 3S phone be able to send to Miracast screens via the Allshare Cast function. (will Miracast support All Share cast)?

This Galaxy Tab 10.1 (first gen) does not have Allshare Cast and will not be getting Jellybean. Need to ask your question in the right forum.
Hello,
A few days ago I received Hyundai T10 tablet. I turned it ON but the touch screen did not work (and still don't). I connected a USB mouse via the OTG port and I can move the cursor so I think the only problem is the touch screen. I tried to flash with other firmware but I found only one firmware for the tablet (sorry but I can't put links in threads) which I think it's the same and there is only one official firmware for the tablet (my thoughts). I searched for custom ROMs but did not found. The tablet is 10 inch and uses Samsung Exynos 4412 processor. So I think there may be 2 or more possibilities for this to happen:
1. There is a bug in the firmware.
2. The touch digitizer cable is not plugged in tablet's motherboard (which I think is casual problem when china factories make tablets on "burst mode" process like 10 000 a day)
If there is other possibility I think it will be moooore bad to fix it ;( bad I paid so much money for chinese tablet.
If the problem is the firmware..... all I can do is just some to be announced new firmware... which may be done... never. And it's not sure that the other firmware will fix the problem because the touch is fully unresponsive.
If it's the touch digitizer's cable not plugged in... I will need to open the tablet or send it to someone who has experience because I will probably 99,99% brake the tablet when opening it. But I give it to some technician he may broke something too. Because of the model.. you know.. not so famous chinese tablet he won't actually know what's right in the tablet and he may brake it too...
Last resort is to send back the tablet to China and pay for the shipping (yes, they want me to pay the shipping fees) and after they see that it's now working they will send me new one.
So guys... please can you give some advice or to guide me to do something that my tablet will work normally. Is there some method to see exactly what is going on with the tablet some diagnostic or idk... I will be very happy to see the tablet working
Thanks in advance
Is likely to be a software failure, try to upgrade. If not, you need to detect the touch screen cable is not loose. or reset to defaults,if those all doesn't work, the touch screen must be broken.
me too
HI,have you fixed the problrem? Can you help me?
i have the same problem that you , with just a difference, my hyundai T10 touch screen digitizer stop to work this evening , after one mount.
i bought it in may, for my son birthday, and now i just have a half brick device.
All work properly exeption for the digitizer. it work just with mouse.
i opened the device and i tried to move the digitizer connector , i put of it from the fpc connector, plug and re-plug , but nothing to do.
i belive it is a hardware iussue becouse it stop to work after i transport (with padding) the tablet from home to work, when i arrived at work i turned on the tablet , and the digitizer did't work anymore.
however i want to try others way before to waste it.
Can you help me? Can you give me some link for download firmware or anythig else for try to fix the problem?
this is my email address [email protected]
thank you for your help and your time.

Hi all, I am having problems with my TrekStor tab. I bought an BT 3 mouse from ebay which is not working well with my tablet device. I thought that its defect or something bcs many things from ebay are so I tested with my laptop and Motorola XT 910 and it all works with no problems.
Problem is sometimes it wont pair or when it's paired it wont connect to my bt mouse, but so sometimes it wont recive data from my phone via BT. It happens in a day or two that it actually works but when am not around for maybe 10min bluetooth goes gray and mouse is disconnected and any attempt to connect it fails.
Now I dont know is there any way to test my BT on my tablet, I am realy losing my brain, I've searched through internet for weeks, tryed everything and no result. Shoud I go to store and give them to test it?
I am using tablet alot for studying and surfing so I realy need it and wont be probably able to give it for repairs for two months so i would like to try anything I can to from here.
Thanks for help and sorry for my bad english.
Tablet is TrekStor Surftab Xiron 10.1, quad core, 2gb ram, 16gb memory running Android 4.2.2. Built in Germany.
Anyone?
I have bought a dongle and discovered it does not have the usual RK SoC , instead it has an Allwinner A10. The pcb is red, it has the SoC, flash, sram, some voltage regulators and a push button and a led. Does anyone have any idea where to get firmware roms for this dongle? The stock firmware is very bad. Dlna barely works. Miracast disconnects immediately after connection.
@an31415 people would need the name and model number to stand a chance of helping you.
I think the best you could hope for is firmware from another identical device sold under a different brand name.
if you were able to try this you'd still need to have the original firmware on hand in case it didn't work.

Thanks @3mel for your reply. The product box says "HDMI Dongle Wifi Display Receiver" and on the dongle it is written "Anycast". This is one of the many clones you can by on Aliepxress. I was hoping it's one with an RK cpu, but after cracking it open I found out it has an Allwinner A10 cpu. I searched high and low on internet to find and alternative firmware for it because the current one is crap. I'll try to attach some pictures here of the PCB, maybe somebody can identify it and point me in the right direction.
But how do I attach picture? Can junior members do it ?
More info: the dongle PCB is red and has a label, SP-X11-V2.0, and the name of the Wifi access point it creates is SP-xxxxxx, where the Xs are random hex digits.
The Wifi addon pcb is green and has no markings. The wifi chip is a well known Realtek that is found in all other similar products.
if you inbox me the AliExpress link I will post it here for you, that's probably the best way for anyone to identify it.
https://m.aliexpress.com/item/4001025810891.html
I received the variant in the colorful box(not the blue ones) and it does not say M2 nor M4 on the box. The product description says it has an AM8252 cpu, but it's not true. I guess the only way to id it is to post pictures of the pcb.
https://youtu.be/uXgBrT6J_Ew
the chips aren't the same as yours but does the board look similar ?
being honest I wouldn't get your hopes up, it's a cheap clone / copy of a chromecast. it's not going to be supported that well, they've already sold you something that doesn't match their product description. take it for what it is and learn that you get what you pay for... sorry.
The board is not similar, it has different ICs, different layout, different color. But the plastic enclosure is identical, except for the venting holes on the back, which are bigger on mine. This case copies the Chromecast (first generation), so people expect it to be a Chromecast clone. It isn't, but it does serve a similar purpose
The date on the PCB is 2019.10.10, fairly recent. I expect a new wave of clones have hit the market, disguised as already established products, but based on a different SoC. The only problem is their firmware is even less stable than the old ones, so I guess other people, not just me, are looking for solutions.
some of those people looking need to be devs.
Yup. Or anybody with a similar but not identical A10 based board. Maybe we can spot different fw versions in the wild
A small update if anybody is interested. I've connected the board via usb to my laptop (running linux mint). Doing this while keeping the button pressed will put the board's bootloader in some sort of firmware update mode. Running lsusb will show it as an usb device : "Bus 001 Device 066: ID 1f3a:efe8 Onda (unverified) V972 tablet in flashing mode". Of course this is not an Onda tablet, but it certainly has an identical SoC, thus the misidentification of the usb device.
Googling for this string I randomly found out there are some people called the sunxi community that strive to create a linux kernel and toolchain for these Allwinner devices, and they have done it quite successfully.
There are many custom firmwares for tablets, tv boxes and mini PCs that are based on the allwinner SoC. It seems this miracast hdmi device is just a trimmed down mini PC. It certainly runs pure linux, no Android, because its ram and flash are much smaller than what I found in the specs of any android devices.
So the question is: does any body have any knowledge of the existence of such a linux based firmware for this miracast board ? I'll go ask the sunxi people also.
