[Q] Install rom from another country - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

I bought one L9 in Mexico, but i live in Brazil. Can I install a Brazilian ROM in my L9?

Yes, it should work. Use the P768 ICS kdz brazil v10a from cmahendra's post in general section on factory roms. Be brave, man. Before JB, our phone is unbrickable!

Well said! I hate LG for its slow support and no source codes in time, but I love it more than that for its PRICE-RANGE and also admire LG because "LG MAKES UNBRICKABLES". I have two of them LG Optimus 2x (P990 still in use) and L9 P765. You pals cannot imagine by any chance how much we have TORTURED our O2X for almost two years, which died on our face at least 15/20 times and every-time it again got its life back, coz LG says "LIFE'S GOOD" You simply cant kill it software malfunction. NVFlash mode always unbricks O2x.
And yes, XDA is for lion-hearted people. Rest of you go to Service Centers. lolz.

really wondering whats new with this version, the phone is 3 months in the market and this is the 3rd upgrade 10a->10f->10g->10h an upgrade to jelly bean would be better than 10 updates in ics...
Why LG doesn't release changelogs like other manufacturers?

It's a lot easier to make these small updates to an already existing os then to build a new one from scratch. It does show that they do care about the customers who are using this phone and have obviously not abandoned it. So we should expect jelly bean.

They are repeatedly releasing V10 builds and they are all ICS for L9. If I am not wrong the JB series will start with V20.
This is what they do for other models too, example on O2x, V10 series was Froyo, V20 series was GB and V30 series is ICS (latest is V30B)
Is the bootloader unlocked in this version?

Are trying to say I'm wrong or right? Either way the fact they are making constant updates show that they are activily working on updates for this phone. Which is a great sign for us in getting a Jelly Bean upgrade. I've had phones that only got an update once a year and it wasn't even a version upgrade (Samsung Behold II if you're wondering). So I hope people stop making stupid posts that the L9 will never get Jelly Bean. There are more signs showing that it will get then signs that it wont.

I am not saying JB wont come for L9, may be you did not get what i said. i am talking about series names saying JB will start with V20 series. and L9 hardware is made enough strong for JB or even better. many weak devices (many tabs) are running on JB.
Does anybody know what's new in this firmware?

They probably blocked oc in our phones. I have root. On earlier version I can but on this not. Swaping partitions work. That's strange, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

So instead of unlocking the bootloader and upgrading to jelly bean, LG is just screwing this phone? Way to go!
Their first update was to make sure that we can't root, and now to prevent us from overclocking?
Oh yeah this phone has a bright future
The last time I buy something from LG, my next android will be from Sony.

This is right P765 can be flashed with P760 kdz and P760 can be flashed with P765 kdz. BUT....
...BUT if you flash P765 kdz on P760, you will not be able to use NFC, the only difference between both. NFC option will be missing in P765 kdz as it does not have NFC Hardware.
SO OBVIOUSLY ALL P760 PALS CAN QUICKLY FLASH JELLYBEAN P765 KDZ, IF NFC IS NOT IMPORTANT. AA HA :good:!
And similarly, if P760 rom is flashed on P765, the NFC option can be seen but will not be functioning, like dead meat. REST EVERYTHING WORKS NORMAL. Tested on my P765 at least 10 times or more.
Ye NFC is not important :highfive:

People who used smartphones with high-sensitive Gorilla Glass phone (like Optimus 2X or latest) will never like the touch-sense quality of L9. Touching on O2X was like buttery smooth and beautiful cold glass feeling. So coming from O2X to L9, we feel this difference too much.

Flash P765V10C_India, then ROOT it and Install CWM (by Artas) and then Restore CWM Backup of Rooted P760V10H in CWM mode.

Note: You can flash back to any rom, anyday you want. You can flash any P760/P765 roms anytime on P765, but NEVER touch P768/769 which are not compatible with Indian L9.

Good news! Unfortunately only are for L II, Lx
sorry for my bad English! xD
It's two sided. Because of our OMAP chipset, we shouldn't get 4.4 update, but look on the bright side - l9 is the strongest of L series, so why shouldn't we get that update? I mean, what policy LG is using if we won't? Even freaking L3 is getting the update, the oldest L series phone, but L9 no? Cmon

I don't see why you're so against LG - how 'bout a brand new Nexus 5? It's great, just like OG, OG2 - there is nothing strange if not a flagship doesn't get an update to the latest firmware. It's not about LG, it's about all non-flagship phones - all of them get either customs or nothing after a year of support and our L9 got quite a good number of updates!
Because every lg I've ever owned has been thrown at one point or another.
Their habit of locking them down like fort Knox is bs and I'm really sick of being driven nuts every time I get one.

So many LG devices get KitKat update but not L9

I ve read this article in this link http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-t...te-many-of-its-devices-to-Android-4.4_id51571
It seems many LG devices get direct kitkat update, but not l9, if l9 is not compatible for android 4.4, why can't atleast get 4.3? Do anyone have clear ideas about this?
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app
Android does not officially support TI OMAP CPUs as of 4.4 and if I'm not mistaken the L9 uses one so were out of luck. You could always try your hand at unlocking your bootloader and flashing a custom 4.4 or even 4.3 build
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app
Honestly there is nothing that LG or T-Mobile could put out that can touch any of the custom roms available for this phone anyways. There are a couple Unofficial CM 11 roms availible and I have not had a problem with it.
I thought atleast we would get a 4.3 update, anyway we I will try custom ROMs
Sent from my LG-P765 using xda app-developers app

I's not that the device isn't KitKat compatible, I also have an ARMv6 Optimus One, old and slow, but it fully supports running KitKat. LG Simply doesn't want to support the L9 anymore.
As I've previously stated, not here, and others have also stated, this is my LAST LG device. My money. My blood and sweat made the money, so I should be able to do with it what I want. Plain and simple.
Agreed!!! I dont think I'll ever buy another lg device again... It's my phone and I bought it out right, I should be able to do what I want to do.
Currently I'm thinking of getting a T-Mobile google nexus 5 hopefully in a couple weeks. Which I found out was made in collaboration with lg. Lol. At least the bootloader is unlockable. I guess I might look at some other devices then too.
well think of the cpu not getting anymore updates by its company which isnt lg i mean if you guys want kitkat and are on a budget get the lg optimus l90 its a really good phone that i recently got that i upgraded to
