I am Thinking of getting rid of my Sola. I have to options in my mind HTC amaze 4g OR xperia p.
And Please dont mention those names who are not in this budget range.

amaze 4g for sure coz of the chipset. even though its the older scorpion it has a lot of developer support and support from qualcomm too, sad to say this but the xperia p/u/go/sola line up is dead.
Amaze 4G is already dead. HTC is not upgrading it to Jelly Bean.
but atleast there would be a lot of custom roms based on JB

Infact this thread is Started by angry Sola user. But i dont wanat comments how bad Sol/u/p is. I wanna know which one will be better? I started this thread here because at this time I have xperia Sola. And i am really not happy with this phone. Even that my galaxy gio is better in performance.

I mean to say future roms or roms based on 4.1+ can make good use of the features on the phone like say 360 deg camera. Secondly aosp roms (project butter) would fly on such a phone with good specs

HTC Amaze is carrier locked to T-Mobile's network. And an unlocked set in eBay cost almost $600. With the assumption that you are not going to migrate to the US, it's not economcal to buy the Amaze, unless you use T-Mobile's network there. If you really love the Amaze, you still can buy an unlock code online, though.

I know I have already checked it on eBay that's y I am planning to get it.. Also due to lack of sources Xperia p will not get most of Cyanogen mods.. Either amaze or xperia S or Xperia T,, I am selling p because of novathor chipset

My Friend Has A Sola(On GB) And He Still Doesn't Know What Is GB And ICS.
So Here Most Of The People Care Only About Screen,Camera And The Most Important Build Quality (Dual Sim Also)
My Friend Bought SGSDuos At 17k($312) Because It Is A Dual Sim Device :silly:
We Would Think That It Is A Waste Of Money(That Is What I Think).
But Majority Of The People Ignore HW Specs Such As SOC,Ram,Inbuilt Storage,etc.
And Hence Companies Like Sammy Are Robbing People.

You'll have to know, Sola is a bettter phone indeed but bear in mind, if u use custom rom, floating touch will kiss u goodbye

About Nexus Phone, i understand that there are peoples who likes pure Android experience. But it is truly for enthusiasts who are willing to add any feature by himself. For casual user though, if you already have satisfying experience with some maker's interface/functionality (Small Apps or Smart Action), the Nexus is lacking though.. But that's just my opinion..

Yeah agree, but I need a phone under 250 Euros. And by the way I'm an extreme fan of pure Android/ pure AOSP roms, but I love Sony phones and every stuff. I've got sony PlayStations, TV, media player, Radio, Hifi etc. . I would choose Galaxy nexus if it would be cheaper than 250 EUR. Any recommendations under 250.-EUR?
I've also been looking for a replacement for my Ray and I've found some interesting chinese devices ( not copies ) that look extremely good and with great prices...only bad thing is that their development section is almost inexistent...

Sola was a good choice in my opinion, just don't do the same mistake that you did with the ray.
the only phone that is actually an upgrade its the xperia SX... same look, better perfomance, better screen, same size..
MM but our single core is almost the same perfomance of st Ericsson dual core chips.
I will go for Xperia S this Christmas I think, but ill keep my Xperia Ray ofc

Sadly I can't keep it, it's a pain that I could never try Android 4.2, and lots of roms for Ray which I should give a try. I'm happy and I bought my Sola, waiting for amazon 2 ship it, but sadly realized that Sola has almost no development. Only rethemed roms by noobs, a miui port, and the FXP cm9 which is buggy as hell and lots of things not working. But I think Sola is great enough to use without custom roms. Sony promised JB so I ain't got no worries.

Sola has better display than xgo ( 480x854 sola, 320x480 for xgo), apart this they are the same. Buy a Galaxy Nexus or a Galaxy S II if you want something better

I know but I don't know why. Sony made one of the best phone(for me it's the best). S3 is a plastic toy. One fall and you can throw out S3 to bin. Not worth any cent.

In my opinion, Sola is great phone (I'm Sola owner, for now), but the problem is the RAM , only 512mb ~ 100 to use !!
I'm willing to exchange it with P ,as it has 1GB Ram, Larger screen, second camera, 8mp camera, JB SW is on the way,,
So yes, go for Xperia P
I would choose the Xperia Z, it is a great phone, probably the best phone available right now.
Then, if he do not want a Sony phone do no ask in a Sony forum, look for the galaxy forums.
you may always want to look for phones made of qualcomm chipsets rather than novathor, mediatek etc. we are struggling to have the latest OS coz there are no sources for novathor.
Both phones here have the same price.
I like the looks of both phones, my hands arent big. I like J big screen, im ok with 3.5 but what worries me that its 16:9 aspect ratio, wich means its longer and less wider then analog 3.5 inch screen size phones (iphone, galaxy ace).
J doesnt have such good camera as i see in reviews and only 1ghz CPU.
Despite the fact that U doesnt have mSD expansion slot, im ok with that, if i need more gbs i might just use OTG cable with usb stick.
So what is your suggestion?

Check gsm arena user comments ... i've read that many users are complaining of lag after update to JB in case of xperia j.
Go for xperia j you will get official jellybean along with xloud bravia engine that won't present in custom jb roms...
Go for xperia U. Im using it and am loving it. First off its much better looking than J. The LED bar at the bottom really adds to its beauty. Also the specs of U are much better than that of J. You will have trouble running even slightly heavy applications and games on the J

That was to be expected of a single core 1 Ghz phone with an adreno 200 GPU. My 3 year old xperia x10 had the same specs and I had trouble running GB on it

Leave Xperia U/J and get Xperia go.
On Xperia U you will get dual core while Xperia J you will get latest OS. But on Xperia go you get both and extra! Waterproof and durable phone!

I suggest you to wait a little. Collect money and buy Xperia go. Atleast Xgo have brighter future get JB update.

If you are happy with ICS then i would suggest HTC ONE V.It has more development than XU.
Get HTC desire X.. You can buy it from eBay at cheaper prices or HTC Amaze 4g old but better specs and looks and development. U can also get Xperia P for same price.

go for U, dont just get a phone because of jelly bean. ICS is so good enough. i have U, and my brother has J, and believe me or not his phone is so slow compare to mine.

Don't get me wrong I liked my Amaze but this phones life span has come to an end. I'm now using the Galaxy Note 2 and I love it.
But officially there is ICS unofficially there is also JB.
You will need extra batteries or charger and a nice sturdy case.

I love this phone but its almost finished. the devs are moving on to better phones. get a nexus device amazing development.

The Amaze is a good phone. While there is not much development, there are some good mature ROMs based on ICS (like NRG). One advantage it has is that the accessories are cheap - you can get extra batteries & etc. for very reasonable prices).
The camera on the Amaze is very good, if that is important to you.
The dev community strong we have a mature sense 4 port and cm10

The phone is stretching to work with newer operating versions. HTC designed it for ICS Imo, and that is where it works best. I personally have no particular desire to try anything else.
Of course, I came to the Amaze from the HD2, so I was a bit spoiled in terms of developer support.

well just saying Amaze hardware is still capable of handling better roms also it has a great camera,speed internet and external memory support and bout the development you can still see the developments are going on maybe it's a small community but it's strong we have every kinda rom on going JB ICS GB anything you like LOL

I too came from the hd2!! Got it about two weeks before nand came to the phone. I was one lucky bastard!

I had it the whole time back to SD build days were all it did was boot up then crash lol

Lol I had it then too.. before we could even dualboot android from sd. I got hella lucky when I bought mine, $25 at sams club for upgrading my contract
