I have a ZOPO ZP900 with a 16 GB SD card and just bought a SANDISK Ultra 64 GB micro SDXC class 10 UHS-1 that was recommended in a thread in a ZOPO forum that went "dead" for maintenance a few days ago...
Apparently all was well. I reformatted the new SD card on the phone, copied all the data on the old 16 GB to the new 64 GB without problems. Did also some auto updates from the Google Store in between.
After that a gmail App update (and others) couldn't be installed because of insufficient storage space... I have a dual partition internal memory space as reported by settings/storage (2,5 GB and 83 MB total space; free 1,58 GB and 79 MB respectively) and a 64 GB SD card (59,36 GB total memory, free 46,34 GB).
So I tried to clear all caches, history, etc. Tried to move apps to SD card (same error). Therefore I tried the inverse. To choose the option to install first on the internal memory the gmail app, this time with success.
Now I've narrowed the problem to the SD card. Although reported as full memory and space available as referred above either in android system or Android Assistant App or Adao File Manager App, I cannot install anything on the card. The camera stores new photos on the card without any problems, so I think it's some other situation... The SD card reads an writes all types of files from within apps or otherwise.
I didn't need to move the apps. They were already installed in the SD card. I formated the new one inside the Zopo (to be properly formated and compatible with the 64 GB option of ZOPO) and copyed all the files hidden or otherwise from the old card to the new card. All the apps installed inf the SD card work well. They just don't install updates on the ones installed in the SD card. You have to install the updates (and the app) in internal memory.
I found out that the second internal memory partition of the ZOPO (in my case just circa 80 MB) has some files from an install in it. This appears in Android (not in all apps) as SD2 card mount. It should be empty has I recall.
Maybe when I switched the cards there was an update to a an app that was installed in this partition by default since the SD card mount wasn't available. And since then the SD card changed the memory space pointing to this mount instead (this has no space) Just guessing... sigh...
Tried also to Clear Partition Cache with CWM recovery and nothing...
Also, I get an error "/dev/block/mmcblk1p2: device not found" in LINK2SD app.
With "DiskInfo" I get :
SDCARD [MMCBLK0]
FAT mmcblk0p6 (/mnt/sdcard2) 83,2MB
SDCARD [MMCBLK1]
SD card mmcblk1p1 (/mnt/sdcard) 59,5 GB
Is the /dev/block/mmcblk1p2 the ID for the partition of the previous SD 16 GB card? How to correct this (without flashing and reseting the phone, please...)
Any help from experts would be appreciated. (If I could at least have access to the original post concerning the 64 GB cards compatibility user tests...)
Can anyone help me??? (and yes I extensively searched here and other places for info, but none appears to be related specifically to my problem...)

[partial solution] insufficient storage space
Well... after several attempts including factory resets, several format options of the sd card, etc., I got it working but not the way it should be.
fact: The partition created for this 64Gb card always got an ID of 98 to 101 (high number).
what (partially) worked:
- use an root explorer app (root explorer app would be fine) with access RW to "etc" root folder and specifically to the "vold.fstab" file (i recomend you save this original file under a different name, e.g. "vold.fstab.bak".
- for some reason sdcard2 partition is read by the system as a sdcard partition where apps coul be installed. I tried the usual tricks of swapping them one another in the "vold.fstab" file without success. Tried to hide sddcard2 partition (I don't need it anyway...) without success. The only thing that worked was the rerout of sdcard2 to the 64GB partition card..
Change this (or equivalent) only on 2nd line (in RED) a 1 to 0 on "vold.fstab" (see the beginning of the file for explanations on the functions/variables):

It's working partially because some file explorer apps dont' give you direct access to all the data stored in the sd card partition as before. You have to go trough \mnt\sdcard\ and/or \mnt\asec\ to get the full data stored on the sd card (part in one, part on another). You can still have full access trough usb mount from the PC to the 2 partitions, tough..
For safety reason I've done prior a full backup and factory reset...
- Full Backup with Titanium BAckup Pro.
- Copy all SD data to PC
- Backup of people data to .csv, and saved it to PC (mine is not in sync with gmail and Titanium failed to restore it well)
- factory reset through CWM and format SD card
- Upon restart upgrade Superuser app after inserting your gmail account
- restore Titanium backup and all other data.
Someone who can find a more fine tune and enlightened solution, please come forward...

I already have the internal version installed, and I copied the update.zip and recovery folder to the root of my microsd card. Then I rebooted using the recovery install instructions, and nothing changed. Is there a config file that needs to be modified to point to the new location?

I want to store my ROMs and backups on my microsd card. I'm uptight about my file organization like that. Besides I have a 16 gb microsd card, I would rather keep the internal memory as free as possible.
I should point out that the internal CWM does not -- as far as I can tell -- allow me to install ROMs or place backups on the microsd card. Which I why I want to make the switch. I was just going to muck about and tinker until I hopefully got it working, but I thought I should check in for some tips before I risk fouling things up.
Would placing a /recovery/command file, which points to sdcard2 do the trick? Or am I going to have to use nvflash to restore to stock?
I think you're a bit mixed up. Internal or MicroSD are just the install methods. After installation, they are the same.
To make sure we're on the same page:
The G-tab comes with an internal 16GB card. Most of us partition 2 GB of that for the system to use, leaving the other 14GB to be used as the eMMC card, which is seen by many things as the SDCard. Any external microSD card you install will be SDCard2 (or just SDCard for something that references the internal extra space as eMMC). This is what gets the most confusing - most things refer to that extra space on the internal card as the SDCard.
I should point out that the internal CWM does not -- as far as I can tell -- allow me to install ROMs or place backups on the microsd card.

Since the extra 14GB from the internal card shows up as the SDCard, this is where backups and media are normally stored. ROMs get installed to the 2GB partition. Though you might be referring to where you put the ROM files to be able to install them, this is not actually the installation location.
Now, if you want your external card to be used as the eMMC, so it will be the one you connect to over USB, your backups go to, etc., you have to change a system file. (Note - some ROMs already have this reversed) To do this, you'll need to use Root Explorer (this costs about $4, but it's the only thing that makes this easy), and edit the file /system/etc/vold.fstab. in there, you will see two lines that look like this:

Changing those will reverse which is used in what role:

OK, I made the assumption that the difference between the two ClockworkMod installers was a different "sdcard" pointer. I thought one build would point to the external card, instead of the internal card. When in fact the build is identical, only the location of the initial cwm update.zip changes.
Thank you for setting me straight. I guess I was trying to recreate the cwm environment I have been used to on my droid phone. Perhaps I will setup a (Tasker?) routine to monitor the download folder for .zip files which I can then automatically copy over to my ROM folder on the internal memory to streamline my ROM update process.

When I update ROMs, I start by doing a USB mount in Clockword mod, then copy the ROM over, then do the update.
I've been using my Archos 101 for a while, both with stock Android and UrukDroid. I've got internal 16GB memory.
Now I've bought a 16GB SDcard. I assume that, when I put it in the A101, my current user data will no longer be available.
What is the best procedure to copy the current user data to the SDcard?
You seem to have gotten something wrong.
If you install a sd card the memory is added to the internal.
In the std Fileexplorer you find it on the top, in others in /sdcard/sdcard

Without SDcard, the apps store their data in /mnt/storage (symlinks: /storage and /sdcard), which is internal memory.
When the CDcard is mounted, it becomes /mnt/storage/sdcard. Will the apps now store data there? Or did I misunderstand the purpose of the SDcard and is it only extension memory?
Yes you missunderstand the purpose of sdcards.
It really is only storrage extension.
And the Apps store there Public data in /storage or /sdcard ( which are the same mountpoints in Archos Android ), the private data goes into /data/data which archos decided to be on a 300MB partition.

Cool. 32GB Class10 cards are the business.
No, you shouldn't need to copy any files from your old card. BUT.....
I'd check all applications and restore all data back to the phone (if you have the available internal storage available) before you insert the new card so you have no installed applications with sdcard storage. settings -> applications
Sometimes it's better to start a fresh and this way you're not copying over all your 'zombie' folders from apps you no longer have installed.
Export configuration/setup files for the likes of mail, contacts and etc, so you can import them again later if required.
I have a NAS and copy my old card(s) onto the NAS and thus I have access to the 'old' data via WiFi if and when I need it as the XPERIA X10i has no OTG microUSB access.
Apps2SD does NOT free up memory, it frees up space in your internal storage area and takes advantage of your high speed Classs10 miroSD card read/write I/O and 32GB disk space. Your XPERIA X10 has an internal data size as small as approx 400MB, with approx 2-3MB read/write I/O and that's what apps2sd is attempting to assist by freeing up space on your internal /data storage.
Apps2SD allows you to manage the applications which can be moved onto the microSD card. Apps2SD does leave some files (dex) in the /data partition on the phone internal memory, but even so you'll reduce the internal phone storage use.
The only real down side of Apps2SD is that you have to consider that all your SD card applications will NOT be accessible when your phone is mounted via USB on a PC as the 32GB microSD card is generally one FAT32 partition.

If you enabled root access, you could use Link2SD and a 32GB Class10 card is just the ticket for this kind of use.

This takes full advantage of your high speed Class10 MicroSD card and this partition is not 'unmounted' when your phone is connected to a PC via USB, so all your 'linked' applications continue to work.
If you remove or replace the SDcard after using apps2sd or link2sd your lose all your applications on the SDcard, so just be aware.
Link2SD is mucho cool as you can backup the second partition and then recreate it and re-run the Link2SD mount script and it'll relink and restore all your Link2SD applications as is stores all the app, library and data files.

You can leave your XPERIA X10i to format the 32GB card or you can format it on a PC using one of the following tools.
You can read up on formatted unit size and partition alignment and see if it is right for you.
I use Ridgecorp Consultants FAT32 formatter
Or you could use SD Association FAT32 formatter (I've not used it)
When the XPERIA X10i formats and mounts the SD card a few XML files are created as well.
I would install Link2SD as your first user application as then all following applications will be 'auto' linked after you setup Link2SD on your SD card.
Most 'new-ish' ROMs have support for additional partitions (ext3/ext4) and mount the FAT32 formatted partition first before any additional ext3/4 partitions.

Hi, I formatted the 32 gb sd card today using the minitool partion wizard (as it is given in the link you provided).
I partitioned 1 gb as fat32 and the remaining as ext2....
But now I can only see the 1 gb in my mobile(cant able to see remaining space), What should I do now.....
Shall I format the sd card completely to fat32 (back to its original form) . Is it possible to partion using link2sd...

No, I did not install the zip...
I formatted the sd in my pc, copied the rom in the sd card and then installed V23 ROM.......and then downloaded link2sd from play store...
I only did this....
Cool. And after successfully installing the FreaLab v23 ROM from the FAT32 partition of the card which may or may not be approximately 28GB which xRecovery/CWM can read without problems. You restarted your phone, logged in and proceeded through the startup wizard, probably rebooted if you followed the FeraLab V23 ROM install instructions and restarted the phone again.
You would then normally check to see if the MicroSD card is operational/mounted and/or go to settings->storage and check that you had a 28GB FAT32 partition mounted.
If the MicroSD card is not mounted or there is an operational error with the MicroSD card, then there is a fair chance you need to install the Link2SD mount correction zip to allow the Android phone to mount the FAT32 partition first.
I have to assume that because you were able to install the ROM from the MicroSD card that there is some sort of operational working formatted storage available on the MicroSD card that Android recognizes.
If this is successful and there was no MicroSD card mounting or operational errors you'd proceed to setup Google play with a user sign-in and installed Link2SD.
You'd then invoked Link2SD and assign the correct format to the partition. I chose ext4. You could choose any of ext2,ext3 or ext4 options.
If this is successful you will need to restart your phone or at least restart Link2SD.
Then you should be good to go.

This is not working, I tried with both the zip and without zip.....
It says
Mount Script error
Mount script cannot be created.

ext4 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition
So, should I try FAT32 for both partitions....
In that case what will be the probability that it will choose exactly my 1gb partition...

im using x10 stock rom and I cant mount partition like ext2,ext3,ext4. it showing SD CARD IS BLANK OR UNSUPPORTED FILE SYSTEM.

So a long time ago I had CM7 installed and never updated and it was my first an only modification to my tablet. Since then my memory card died and I had to RMA it. I'm now trying to do this all over again and I'm finding some difficulties.
I followed the steps below from here:
SDCARD IMAGE: boot.zip *Updated BOOT contents (flashing_boot.img, etc..)

After burning the image and booting from your SDCard, boot into Cyanoboot menu and select “SDC Recovery“. In TWRP/Recovery, select “sdcard” location and select “flashable_expand_bootable_sdcard.zip”. This will auto resize the “data1” and “sdcard” partition on your card. You can do this manually using partition software like MiniTool or GParted. Initial boot time is around a couple minutes. If you are stuck at the booting animation for over 5 minutes, then there is a problem. Power off your device by holding down the power button and boot into “SDC Recovery” again. This time select “flash_format_data1_sdcard.zip” and reboot. When you get into home screen and the notification, say the “sdcard” is blank and ask you to format, do so. It will reformat the “sdcard” partition (Partition 4 on the SDCard) to Fat32.

I burned the image then booted the nook. It went into android no problem. I then followed the next step with going into recovery and running the first listed file. No problem so I didn't have to run the next one. I started installing apps again from the Play store and ran into an issue with space. Apparently for some reason I'm getting stuck with 4 partitions on this 32gb sd card with 24gb being completely unused. I opened the mini partition program and noticed this partition wasn't active. I preceded to activate it and put it back in my nook. Now it just boots to stock Nook.
So apparently setting the last 24gb partition screwed things up. Do I have to start over again with the above mentioned instructions?
Finally how the heck am I able to use the full space on the sd card? With the above directions I'm only left with a couple 100mb on each partition. I don't even understand why there are 4 partitions on the sd card in the first place. I understand the BOOT partition but there should only be one other partition and that is what CM10.2 and anything else you put on/install should reside.

I did some digging around on the above link and found information about resizing the partitions.
Install 7-zip if you can’t extract the file.
Extract cm-10.1-2013xxxx-acclaim-HD-SDC.img from cm-10.1-2013xxxx-acclaim-HD-SDC-img.rar/zip
This is a 2GB image that can be burn to a 2GB or bigger microSD card.

Yes, you can delete P3 DATA1 and recreate it. P3 DATA1 has to be EXT4 PRIMARY.

I've done that. Yet still get space problems inside android.
Looking up storage under settings I show to have the following:
Internal Storage
Total Space 26.05GB
Available 24.43GB
Apps 256MB
Cached Data 6.58MB
Then I have another Internal Storage listed
Internal Storage
Total Space 7.45GB
Available 3.5GB
This must be the actual Nook internal storage.
Pulling up the apps under settings and I show 1.6gb used 24gb free.
Why is it I don't have the access to the space for app installations?

I did some digging around on the above link and found information about resizing the partitions.

I'm pretty sure you can. You go to Settings>Apps>Downloaded Apps, then you click on an app and hit "Move to sdcard."
Note that this does not work for all apps.
The other, more geeky way is to remap your internal partition with the external sdcard via /system/vold.fstab modifications. I suggest getting acquainted with Android some, learn how to use adb shell, then continue with this route.
The last time I had CM working before the sd card crapped I had full use of the sd card without moving things to the sd card. Apps installed to the full sized partition on their own.
So something must not be right somewhere. I also don't want the internal storage messed with as I also use this device for it's original intention.

I own the plus version of Link2SD but I encouter an issue.
I was using a µSD card of 32Gb with 2 partitions, 1 FAT and 1 ext3
Then I decided to upgrade my µSD card with a 64Gb. I recreated 2 partitions, 1 FAT and 1 ext4 this time. And then I copied the files from the old card to the new one from my linux box.
After installing the new µSD card and booting the phone, the apps that were linked to SD card are not available so I checked Link2SD and for apps that were totally or partly linked to SD card, there is an orange flag telling me to reboot the phone. I did it twice but nothing changes.
So I recreated the mount scripts as the previous partition was ext3 and now ext4. But it is still the same.
So I tried to re-create mount script, but with ext3 this time, and after reboot, most of the apps where linked again (but not all apps). But some apps are missing. And if I try to link apps/cache/library files... it says /data/sdext2 not found
I had a look at the files on the sdcard : maybe the problem is that when I copied files from one card to another, I was root on my linux system and the owner and group of the file are now root:root ?
Otherwise, the permissions seems to be correct (r, w, x)
So what is the rignt procedure to get everything back ?
