I was flashing back to stock via oxen, when I pulled a rookie mistake. This is a used 777 and charge port is a little sloppy.During flash USB cable came out.
I have been flashing cappys for a couple of years and never let that happen.Have soft bricked a time or 2,but always fixed.I believe I have hard bricked this 777.No response what so ever.Wont go into down load or recovery.Isn't recognized by Odin.It was running supernexus, rooted and cwm recovery.
Is there a fix besides jtag?I've tried what I know.Been reading but haven't come across fix yet.Any suggestions would be appreciated.thnx,rbb1robert

Have tried going into download mode while phone is off holding the volume down button while plugging into computer or try a different usb port on computer and proper drivers for your model phone are installed . Make sure Odin is running under administratior rights. I know you are experienced at flashing roms, just making sure all the bases are covered. Jtag is not too cheap but would save you from a hard brick. Mobiletechvideos.com are the best..

Well, I just received my phone today and I decided to root it by following a guide. Little did I know that firmware I was rooting was not meant for this phone. Now the phone shows the Samsung screen for a split second and then it turns off.
Is there anything I can do to restore it back to normal? I only have access to download mode right now.
Pm howtomen hrs helped someone earlier today in irc. not sure how. But you're still ok

Ohh ok thank you both for the quick replies. This sucks, I don't have a phone now untill I can get this fixed :\
So where did the dev forum for our phone go? Is it mixed in with the other major 4 US carrier versions?

It seems to randomly disappearing and reappearing.

If you can get into download mode you're ok. You need to flash a stock rom and you'll be back to normal. Don't flash chainfire's root from the international thread because the kernel is not the same.

Already done
I hadn't rooted before the OTA ICS update (TELUS) but decided to finally root my phone and stuff....
i wasn't being really careful i guess and I just tried the one click odin method but I found out later this doesn't work on ICS i717.... hence my phone now seems to be bricked
it gets stuck on samsung logo. I really don't want to try and factory reset my phone and stuff... is there another way to try and unbricking this thing? I've now downloaded CWM on ma phone but I dunno how this is going to help...
PLEASE HELP ME!!
Look at my thread
That is a soft brick if it was brickd. It wouldnt do anything at all. If u have cwm download a rok. Wipe data/cache and flash it . You can also always jut use odin. To flash a tar

thanks guys! managed to get all my data back + rooted

I was going through threads on rooting, ROMs, kernels and bricking. Before reading threads about bricking I wanted to root my phone but after reading I got scared of bricking my phone which I think is difficult to debrick (unbrick).
Is it really the case that we cannot debrick the phone at home? Is it ok to root with such a consequence?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
All I can say is if you're that worried about it, don't root your phone or flash anything. Leave it on stock & enjoy it.
Is it possible to change ROM without rooting the phone?
And what are the chances of bricking the phone while rooting? And if bricked what is procedure to make it as earlier

use this to root your S2...It is 100% risk free. However use only if u are on ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Also, read everything before u flash a rom/kernel..95% of them get bricked without reading or consulting properly

Try Odin happen to me once PC didn't recognize but Odin still did. Go to stickies section in Sgs2 section find stock ROM flash after I plugged in to kies and it did the rest. This method worked for me twice when all I had was a flickering black screen. Hope it works with U. Try to put into download mode three bottom press. PM if U need more help.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Guessing that you have hard bricked the phone, due to doing wipe on stock rom.
Not much you can do, a new motherboard is required
Can you enter download mode?
Download mode is entered by Volume Down + Home + Power pressed simultaneously when your phone is off.
Sounds like your motherboard is toast. you got warrenty? maybe theres hope
nope
no compassion at all.
If you had read just a little bit about rooting / flashing, you would have known that you should not do a CWM factory reset on stock 4.0.4 rom.
Just like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756242
and here:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/hard-brick-bug-on-galaxy-s-ii-and-note-leaked-ics-kernels/
...and so on.
I guess you have to tell your friend that you ruined his phone
Hi all guys, i'm new here and i need your help.
One day ago i installed the Custom ROM "Super Nexus Beta5" on my galaxy. It worked for a day but now, when i turn on my phone, i see this (attachment)
And i can only turn on in download mode.
If i flash some firmware with odin, i have this error: There is no Pit-Partition.
Can you help me?
Sorry for bas english, Thanks.
If there is no pit, you need motherboard replacement because of eMMC failure.
