About ADB:
Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a versatile command line tool that lets you communicate with an emulator instance or connected Android-powered device.

About the tool:
It is an executable application and I have included the required things with it but make sure to install all the required drivers. This tool can be used for the following things:
+ Flashing .img files.(Includes, system, userdata and kernel)
+ Flashing .sin files.(Includes, system, userdata and kernel)
+ Flashing .elf files. (Includes, system, userdata and kernel)
+ Rebooting in 3 ways and power-off via adb.
+ Installing APKs
+ Debloating 6.1.1.B.1.10 firmware with various options for user ease.(Only for P,U and Sola)
+ Flashing bootanimation
+ Pulling various APK files from phone.
+ Pushing various APK files to phone.
+ Zipping files and extracting zips.
+ Flashing recovery.img
+ FTF Maker
+ APK Maker and extractor
How to use this tool and what are the requirements for it?
All the instructions are included in the tool and before using this tool, make sure you have:
+ A rooted phone(nearly all it's functions are for rooted phones) with USB debugging enabled.
+ Phones drivers installed.
+ A recovery installed.(CWM recommended)
+ Bit knowledge of android, adb and fastboot.
+ Make sure your brain is not bricked.
+ Kindness to press the THANKS button.

+ I've tested everything working but still if you find something report here.

FAQ:
Q. This function doesn't work. What now?
A. Just report here and i'll fix it.
Q. Why is it in this forum?
A. Some of it's options like debloat menu are mainly made for this Xperia line, so I thought posting it in this forum would be nice.
Important notes and tips:
+ While you boot in fastboot mode please wait for some time till the PC recognizes your phone and loads the appropriate drivers.(Only first time needed)
+ Make sure you close asll the adb based tools before this like SUS, PCC, Flashtool, Rooting Toolkits, etc. Or else go to TaskManager in your PC and end the adb.exe and fastboot.exe processes.
+ Always make a backup before doing anything.

Yes all the functions will work except those which require fastboot mode... this include the first 3 options of the tool

Xperia u rooting help
Hi im new in android i bought xperia U [gb 2.3.7 build 3.184] few days ago and after reading rooting advantage i want to root BUT WITHOUT void warranty.... main thing i want to know that it is possible to root phone without voiding warranty and i dont want a ICS update i wanna stick to gb. if yes than post link to it....

For the noobs:
Root / Rooting = to lift the default protection of the Android OS and gives you access to all system files that are normally hidden from you
This enables extra functionality but also requires knowledge about the android system to know what is safe to do and what not.
- Simple root use: changing theme elements / new battery icons / individually controlling the LEDs

Followed the guide, my U lost the ability to change colors when viewing the themes (cosmic flow) although when viewing images it still works fine. Also started getting some lag. Any way to somehow fix these?

This is a known bug on the Xperia U. However to fix it, all you have to do is install the Light1.1.apk from the following thread (Credits to straciam).

PS: I have not tested this app but I speculate that this will be the solution based on the comments in that thread. I would recommend you to read the thread first. If this helped, do thank me and the developer of the app

Will try to do that when I get home next week thanks. I now have a new issue lol. Recently tried out supercharged kernel by vito, prob is that when I press the power button the screen somewhat flickers before fading to black. It goes fuzzy like in a tv but only quickly. Tried turning off and on my phone but its still there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

To Un-root, all you need to do is Flash the stock ROM FTF. There are 2 threads in the Xperia U Development thread that has all the information of Download links to the FTF's ICS and GB. Just have a look. Just a quick guided video would be helpful.

Its the fade out effect. Before I used the kernel the screen normally goes black, now the fade out effect has gray and white fuzzy things. I don't think I have tried to change my ROM yet.

These root guide is Pre-ICS so for ICS you'll have to use different kernels then provided here or use the Binary methode

binary methode only works on ICS. so take that one (don't forget to install busybox after it)

have installed it today on my XU.
v13 of the binary methode works, v14_2 messes stuff up.

I'm having real problems.
I'm not a complete n00b but I can't get past the stage where I need to locate the drivers in device manager. I jut point to the folder where it is and nothing happens. It doesn't install the drivers. I have tried zipped and unzipped and still nothing. Please help

First flash the ROM 2.3.7
Then close your bootloader
Then you flash ICS ROM
Your problem will be solved

Strange, I tried the v13 of bin4ry and my screen goes black! Everything wasn't rendered correctly and I had to do a factory reset to correct everything again.

This tool it's a little batch (.bat) script that allow you to install a kernel (boot.img,kernel.elf etc.) just dragging it to the Drag&Drop Kernel Flasher file!!!
WHAT DO I NEED ?
You just need an Windows PC, an Android Phone with Bootloader Unlocked (it's just created for Xperia U but work on ALL phones) and an USB Cable:silly:.
INSTRUCTIONS :
Extract the .zip, move a kernel in the folder extracted, turn off your phone, connect in fastboot mode, drag&drop the kernel on the file Drag&Drop Kernel Flasher.bat (no problem if there isn't the extension) and Enjoy
DOWNLOAD :
Drag&Drop Kernel Flasher By GEKTHEBOSS.zip

Hello mates!
I'm user of Honami MoonWalker (LINK). When I'm looking addons for this rom, i saw that awesome Tab'n'Grid (LINK) thing. I installed it with CWM to my phone. And it's little laggy. So I decided to delete it. When i ask the guy who ported that UI for Xperia P, he says i have to flash my rom again. So i did it. When i flash MoonWalker V6 over MoonWalker V6, phone stucks at that colorful smoky thing. (IMAGE) It doesn't freeze, just passing through the screen. I was using MoonWalker V6 and Nemesis Kernel V6.3 (LINK) And something more. When i do the steps (İntstall rom from zip, wipe cache, wipe dalvik) CWM always gives that error : ''E:can't open /tmp/recovery.log''
So what is the solution? I can enter CWM. How can use again my phone with MoonWalker and Nemesis Kernel?

If you want use that tab n grid systemUI then push only the systemUI into system/app woth right permissions:

Dont flash the zip of that tab n grid !!
Why you get that error in cwm ??
You forgot to mount system and data under mount and storage in cwm what the steps told also !!

Dude why you are always so angry? First of all i don't try to make 10 post. I never posted on development section btw. I created that post same time that i send you a PM. So i'm taking diffrent ideas from diffrent persons. And thats help improve my knowledgeable about android. Now my phone is working good.
the feature of GB now in JB (6.2.A.1.100)
to unlock the phone slide + pin/pattern
all u need to do is download the attached android.policy.jar zip file
