Paranoid Android - HTC One X+

I was wondering if there was anyone making the latest PA for our device? I've searched and searched. It would appear just now there isn't a whole lot of ROM dev's building ROMs for the one X+..

there are roms around just not loads of them I can recommend this one for non stock feel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044584 not tried CM10 or 10.1 yet but reading around they seem stable. Having been a samsung sheep since my htc desireHD days I must admit theres not as much development around here but what is here works great

Thanks for the link but that is not Paranoid Android..I agree that the few roms I've tried are very sweet. I've not encountered any real issues right from the beginning which shows a great level of developer. But take the Nexus 4 for example, I've just counted 20 active ROMs available in their forums.

Help Get the Miui ROM Ported to the TFP

I have tried asking on Miui.us for a ROM for our TFP. I was wondering if some of you can show your support and help ask for a ROM for us. I have PM'ed a few Mod's and admin's of the site and have received no response. Here is the LINK to the site. Please show your support so we can get this wonderful ROM made for our TFP. I have ran it on my Evo 4G and EVO 3D and it's very smooth with a lot of customization. There are thousands of theme's made for Miui and if you haven't ever seen it, I would highly suggest you check it out. Thanks in advance!

So sick of hearing this bull.
Let the owners pick what Rom they want to run. Is there a problem with Icons being sized the same, christ people spend hours on the market picking out themes and custom icons to get their screens to look a certain way. Whether it be an Ipad kinda layout or not.
While Miui has an Apple look to it (Apple does have some beautiful design) it by NO means runs like iOS.
Man, Ill take a clean looking stable Rom any day. Miui fits this bill. You cant deny the amount of downloads Miui has, they have done something right.
OP....there was a thread started yesterday from a guy who had started on a port. He had some questions for devs to help him out. I tried to steer him to some other forums here for help. He had some screenshots of miui on his prime.....jellybean(something).....

Enough of the elitist attitudes, we want options!! Let the people decide!
Miui might look like an iOS, but it IS definitely no where near it. It is like CM# but IMO way better. You are able to customize almost every aspect of the ROM. You need to look into something before you throw out a stupid comment like"buy an iPad". If I wanted something can't truly customize, over-clock, add anything to it and wanted something blan, I would have bought an iPad. On my old EVO 4G, the ROM was so smooth and had the highest bench scores on the EVO when I had it. On the EVO 3D, it runs just as smooth and very fast. I think that Miui would be a great ROM for us TFP, and if we had our own ROM and not a port, it could be the smoothest and fastest ROM out there. Miui is also supports almost 40 known phones and tablets, and is known world wide and has a big following.
I will continue to try and ask some of the developers for help over on Miui.us.

While miui would be a great option it will no way be the fastest rom. I have ran it myself on a few phones and it is very nice and smooth, but every phone also had other ROMs that were faster. It is very heavy on customization which is nice, don't get me wrong, but it is fact that it doesn't perform as well as many other ROMs on same device.
That being said would love to see it on the prime. Its a great ROM and I love to have more options and things to play with!
I talked to few more people over on Miui.us and found out that super_ is also working on a port for our TFP. He claims that he has been waiting for better dock support before he started ported, but he gave up on waiting and will try to also try and port it over soon.
Also, @rand4ll, IMO it was faster than any of the other ROM's that ran on the EVO 4G, and most on the 3D as well. I have switched back to a Sense rom though, a few features I like more than Miui when it comes to having it be used as a phone. Since the TFP isn't a phone, I won't miss those features and will like to use all the customization that Miui brings.
@Mcoupe, I thought I thanked you as well for providing the link and your info that you provided. I made sure it took this time!
Well we have progrss over at the Miui.us site. They have made a TFP section and are working on a rom. Whenever I find out more I will keep everyone updated on this.

For a short while there was a download on goo.im/miui, I'm guessing it was some sorta beta/nighty/test rom but anyway... I never got it to boot up completely (boot loop), And It appears they used cm9 as a base(the boot animation was from the old cm9 nightly) any way here is a DL link for it, see if any of you can make any progress or see what wrong with it..

I didn't open a new thread, I started this thread back in March and I was updating my thread that I started. .
It looks like you were the one who opened a new thread on the whole Miui ROM issue. Your post could have been added to my thread to let everyone know about an update to it. But hey, you didn't see me going to your thread and telling you about my thread that was posted before yours and you shouldn't have made a new thread. It's all cool though

Miui is built a fully built and customized version of CM I believe (I could be wrong though). They took the CM base build and basically built it from scratch off of the CM base. For a long time Miui was a closed source ROM, but I believe they finally released the source code so that any Dev can make a rom for their phone.

Can't find any newer ROM's. Developement dead for View?

I just had a client hand me about 10 of these tablets and ask me to make them faster. No problem I said (having been an android user since the days of G1 and currently have over 15 different android devices in the house I didn't think it would be a big deal).
After spending days trying to get Cypher ROM to boot I thought I'd look around for a different one. I'll be damned if I can find a ROM that's not at least 6 months old on here.
So I guess I'm asking the hated question "which ROM will give me the best performance and all features working?" Sorry but I've been looking and can't find anything promising so I'm asking you guys.
What are you currently using on your HTC View 4G's that works well?

[Q] Best STABLE Rom for the NT?

My question is pretty much specified in the title. I LOVE CM. I have it installed in my N7 and GNex but I've read that CM9 and 10 are in ALPHA stages. Help? Please?

This question sounds or could be in the Nook Tablet Q & A forum. The closest thing to stable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877217 beside certain games title don't work as noted in "Known Issues:" may want to try this even though it listed as UNOFFICIAL. 12/10 is pretty close to a complete solution if you don't mind flashing updated roms and gapps.

I know that when I asked this question once I got this reply which actually was good advice. If you ask 10 people which ROM is best you will get ten different answers. You just need to do your research and pick the one that will give you what you need with the least amount of issues. What is good for someone else is not always good for you. I still use cm7. Doesn't mean that it is the best available, but it provides what I need. It is hard to decide what to use, just try them all until you find what is good for you.

Thanks, I usually try and do my research before asking a question, I've been flashing since the OG Droid but there's nothing solid for the NT as mentioned above by Vector. I'm aware of the few ROMs out with some issues. Getting 10 different answers will always give me an idea of where 10 different ROMs stand which will give me a better insight on them so I don't mind the different opinions and suggestions. The NT is my 8 year old daughter's and I want something stable enough so she won't get frustrated with it but I guess I'll flash something and hope for the best. Once again, thanks for the input.
The most stable ROM by far is celticwebsolutions cm 8&16 GB beta. I have flashed about every ROM available for nook tab. I have run this ROM for months now and even lasted ten days off the charger without a reboot or dead battery( ultra light use of course). Cm 9 and 10 are fun to play with' but are plagued with reboots due to 3.0 kernel issues' etc. Especially for an 8 year old' you don't want freezes and reboots requiring a hard reboot. I really love the cm10 ROMs, but even 1 or 2 freezes is too many for me for a heavy user such as myself. I keep trying them and always revert t cm 7 beta. You are not missing out on any apps sticking with cm7 over the newer builds. A slicker ui and advanced ecosystem are nice though. So nice, in fact I have moved onto a nexus 7 and now my 2.5 y/o son mainly uses my nook now to play angry birds and some others. He navigates around with ease' I would feel uncomfortable setting him up on cm10 as he would often have to come to me for a reset. For us adults' an slightly unstable ROM with extra bells and whistles is just fine. Half the fun for me is troubleshooting and trying new ones. I would go with the mentioned cm 7 and call it a day.

Firstly you need to remember to post any threads in the correct sections and a thread that starts with [Q] has no other place then Q&A.
The reason I've closed this thread is because best ROM threads aren't encouraged on the forum due to exactly what's been said already, you ask 10 people you get 10 different answers, it's too subjective and goes nowhere. The only way you'll know is by reading the development threads and also trying ROM's out for yourself. All best ROM threads get closed for these reasons and why you don't see active best ROM threads here.
Thanks
AvRS

What is the most stable (non-stock) rom available for 8GB Nook Tablets? Seems like CM10 is pretty buggy so far?
**EDIT** Can a mod move this to the Q&A forum?

CM10 is not buggy at all any more. At least not the ones I have tried. I don't have enough to compare with to say which one is best, and I also think it's frowned upon to discuss that here. Read a few pages of each of the ROMS to get an idea of what issues there might be in them.

Interesting the reason I asked that is because after reading through many pages of 3 different CM 10 based ROMS there appeared to be a large number of unresolved bugs. I will have to try one out.
Well, I have been running Succulent's 1208 build from another place than here (but I think you can find it here as well) since it came out (dec 8) and haven't had a single issue (once I got it flashed properly)! I ran it from sd for a couple of weeks to make sure it ran good enough before flashing it internally.
I hear good things about other ROMs as well, so I don't think I just happened to stumble upon the only reasonably stable one!

Sounds good I will try that one out after making sure I have a good nand backup. Thanks for the info.
The most stable NT ROM is based off CM7. The ones I have tried are rock stable. They have had plenty of time to mature nicely.
To date I have tried all but one JB build from these forums. From my humble experience I will try to sum my experiences to date:
ROMs based on CM10 and ASOP 4.1 are stable, power efficient, with maybe one or two minor quirks - which are almost easy for my eye for perfection to ignore. I want to point out that these quirks could be unique to my NT and the 100 plus apps I play with. I say this because some of the earlier builds I tried seemed more solid on my NT than the later improved builds. But what do I know, It's all PFM!
Stepping out on a limb here I'll say from my two weeks or so experience with ASOP 4.2 and CM10.1 that these builds are stable - no boinks, no crashes. I did have to fool about with uninstalling and reinstalling some apps to get them to chill. There may be one or two things that aren't functioning 100%, like for instance, maybe the microphone - but I can live with little things like that. I find the advantages of the overall build greater than the loss of a menu item, lack of customization or microphone or being able to keep my tablet unplugged for two days. These things will be ironed out in time by the brilliant minds too numerous to mention here.
In conclusion I have never run in to a such a buggy build here at xda that made me throw anything at a wall nor regret trying a ROM. A scream or two maybe resulted, but that was my fault. Follow directions, work smart and be happy. :cyclops:

Yes, yes it does. And most of them are too damn lazy to actually read more than 1 or 2 pages of the ROM information. Or feel the search feature isn't necessary for them. Why do the work when I can have it spoon fed to me. The internet, the only place in the world, packed full of knowledge and yet people keep getting dumber/lazier. But damn if we don't love our kitty pictures and videos.
Sent from my CM 10 nook. Thanks devs.
"Search?" Isn't that Google's job? The first thing that came up didn't tell me step by step exactly what to do so I'm trying to get other people to do it for me...

Surely AOKP won't be the winner by a longshot.
The list should probably be condensed a bit. Like including both paranoid android rom's into the same category, maybe merging the ones that build from the CM10.1 source into a single category.

At the beggining I just made an option for paranoid, but then I checked both threads and there were a couple of ppl using each one, so I though, why not separate them. In order to include the changes you said, I think it must be a moderator who does that, i'm not sure but I can't find how to edit the poll (never made one...). Thanks.
I was thinking of a poll to see one option you're missing is 'Stock Rom' Would be nice to also graph users that aren't using a custom rom and are instead just using google's official one.
And there should be a 'Other - please list your rom' option as a good chunk of people won't vote without 2 options if there not applicable to them so its going to be skewed for stats without them.
I think CleanROM should be included in the poll, as it's a quite popular ROM.

In theory it was there, i'm not sure why it isn't. Totally failed doing my first poll lol. Any clue if I can edit the poll or it must be an admin?
I use Pac on my nexus 10 and also on my sgs2, because i think PA is very useful especially on the nexus, but it´s nut enough customisation, so the mixture between PA and AOKP is great.
So i only can advise you to give PACman a try

Think the admins/mods need to edit the poll hopefully they will be nice enough to do so as this poll would be worthwhile for all of us here with nexus 10's
I sent a non urgent report so the mods can see it and hopefully be nice enough to update the thread.
I use AOKP with KTManta... AOKP Milestone, official download.
updated to Kaos Droid's new ROM, so far seems good
MrRobinson's AOKP PUB with KTManta kernel here.
Carbon Nightly!!
I must say, I'm pretty stoked with 2nd place so far!!
Been testing different ROMs like Roobox, Tasker, Liquidsmooth, I am using Carbon for now. I like AOKP too will try Sentinel next. So many ROMs to try too much fun.
Don't forget kaos droid... Awesome rom and the dev is very willing to add custom features
I've tried nearly everyone on the list. But I always end up going back to the AOKP PUB builds. I fluctuate between the builds by Bigxie and Mr. Robinson - depending on who has a more recent build. No other ROM I've used has all the customization options I'm looking for (including my #1 must-have Tablet UI) as well as including the increased speed and fluidness. With that said, it's great they there's so many options for the device. It's one of the reason I love Nexus devices.
I liked pacrom but had to switch back to paranoid android because ps3 controller wouldn't connect to sixaxis
*edit ps3 controller now connecting since flashing the newest pacrom.
Just got my N10 a couple of days ago and I'm looking for a ROM. Which one of the AOKP custom roms are the best?
