What does your Miui looks like..??? - Galaxy Note II Themes and Apps

Well I know that there are a lot of device specific screenshot threads here at XDA. I also realize that there are existing random posts here and there for mods, themes, widgets and the like. It used to be that when I'd surf through the posts, every-so-often an MIUI user would pop in and post and then you wouldn't see anything MIUI related for a while. Now that every-so-often seems to be more and more.
Considering the fact that MIUI seems to be gaining in overall popularity, I was hoping we could get something going here for all the MIUI users, to share and show Themes nd modes on Note2
In so many words, I'm looking for screenshots, but not limited to home screens and or lock screens. If you have a dialer or drop-down, maybe a boot animation… whatever. Post it. Regardless of device.
If you could also please include details or links to resources, that would be very nice.
Let the chat begans
Thanks

If you want a thread "regardless of device", why would you want it in the Note 2 forum? Doesn't this thread do the job? And why post in General anyway, and not in Themes & Apps?
My opinion on MIUI/SGN2 hasn't been a good one, for what it's worth.
I had MIUI on my Note 2 for less than a day, it was easily the worst ever MIUI I'd ever tried - and I speak as a fan who at various times had it on all 3 SGS models I had. Sadly, I can't think of a single thing that a Note 2 MIUI ROM, in its current state, offers that Sammy can't beat - be it stock or custom.

Are there any *different* ROMs?

I'm getting a bit bored of the same design, notification bar at the top, pull it down, icons at the top, etc. I was wondering if there are any ROMS for the gt-I9100 that are designed differently? Yeah sure you can use different launchers or flash MIUI but I want to see something new. Cheers!

There would be no use in that, I'm asking if there are any, I'm not asking for developers to make any.

Surely it's not difficult to go to the development sections & read up on the features of a few roms to find what you want ?
Or even try a few out after doing a nandroid backup of your current setup. Pretty easy to backup, flash a rom, see if it has the cosmetic things you're after, keep it if it does, restore your previous setup if it doesn't.

PMing devs is the number 1 way to annoy them... It's good to post this in Q&A.
Actually, boot2gecko might be of interest to you (no idea if it's stable enough to use yet, but it's something new!)

Obviously backup first etc...

MIUI was the only one ROM with different framework and look, now they also made photocopy of SAMSUNG in ICS versions... baaad
Simple answer no!
You are asking to remove something what makes it Android the notification bar. Even ios had that now....
Try Windows phone, that's different.

I think you should try iOS or Symbian

As far as i know iOS and Symbian are not available for SGS2.
boot2gecko or miui is the only ones he can try.

New AT&T User

Hey guys!
I just received my Galaxy Note from AT&T (previously a T-Mobile G2 user), and am wondering about custom ROMs.
I used a MIUI ROM on my G2 with T-Mobile, but am more interested in ICS and the international capabilities of the Note (Premium suite, apps, etc). Do we not get those apps?
Are there any custom ROMs you guys would recommend for a new user?
Thanks!

Start Here:
Get CWM installed - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586223
This is the most stock ICS (an a good solid ROM to start with):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664980
This is the best (IMHO) of the ICS ROMs. It's due for an update very shortly - but it's the only one to really take advantage of the capability of ICS to handle tablet mode:

There's no reason to say anything bad about anyone's rom. If you like apps rom, then say just that. Theres no reason to point out what you think is horrible scrolling. They're both excellent roms and both are very smooth. Go to the threads and read up. Or better yet, try them and see what fits your needs the best.

I understand. I'm not new to ROMs, but I find it easier to ask for opinions than to try flashing endless ROMs. I'm having a hard time believing rooting and all is even worth it. But I'm hoping some of you veteran Note users' will provide me with a little more incentive to flash or keep stock.
I'm sure he meant no disrespect to the developers, and hopefully they take no offense.

Your choice but my opinion is as follows. You have a great device with capabilities far beyond those which it was sold with(GB), so you could stay with your awesome device and never know its "full" potential. Adversely, you could unleash the beast with a little research and gumption... Think portable wireless hotspots and ease of use modifications and custom works allowing you to customize your device. With stock gb it generally takes 2 to 4 more steps to achieve the same goal in custom GB. Same with ICS... These are my opinions and individual experience may vary... Ultimately its up to you how excited about your device you get, and how much research you do to ensure a great experience.

Yeah I ended up trying a few, and nothing seemed stable enough. We won't have to wait too much longer for ICS and premium suite I am sure!
I say if you're fine with GB go with unofficial rom. Best laid out in my opinion and with holokernel incredibly fast and smooth. For ics I say forget about your s pen and try cm9. I missed notes at the beginning but with how fluid everything is and problem free of a build this is I try not to think of that plastic pen jammed into my phone and just enjoy ics for what it is and what it should be on any android phone without all the little touches manufacturers throw in trying to make their phone a special snowflake in an industry of special individual snowflakes. Just my two cents anyhow

The project I've been working on - New Rom

The last few weeks I've talked to many of you about a little project I was lucky to be involved in with a good friend of mine, Tonekneeo, and I promised you guys I would keep you updated.
Rather than trying to reply to each PM and remember which gtalk people asked me about it, I decided to kill a whole bunch of birds with one stone.
This rom is sense 3.6 based but it's designed from the ground up to be run as sense, senseless, and with the MIUI style launcher, depending on the kind of mood you're in. It's a really clean little lean and mean rom that has amazing performance and get's me the best battery life I've seen on my rezound even though I've been tethering. The eye candy and theming is gorgeous in my opinion, a sophisticated yet fun theme that I find very classy in the base version and he's rolling out custom theming constantly so there's still several colors yet to come.
http://www.teambamf.net/topic/4008-rom-tonked-rezound-rom/
Tone has a lot of projects in the works and I'll be helping out with the development as he teaches me the tricks of the trade, so feedback is always appreciated.
Giving it a shot now
ReZound
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heya Charlie! Nice work, keep it up. Downloading now and probably run this as my daily. Will see what I can do about getting you a themed SGS3 Launcher(think its called SecLauncher2.apk) to add in also (if you want?).
JSYK, there's a separate forum for ROMs

1) Data Arrows Working?
2) For those who installed it, how does it run compared to CleanROM Pro?
3) What ICS Leak is it based off of?
Great to see something different, nice work..
glad to see there is another thing for me to flash thank you

Data arrows are working. It's based off of the 5/7 leak I believe unless something has just changed. Tone will be doing another rom based on the newest leak and I'm sure once it's ready for main stream we will create more rom threads and such.
I'm good with it being moved but I really don't think this is for the development section. I'm not the developer and I'm not creating a rom thread or supporting the rom. I don't think the development section should be crapped up with general information like this.
How about gsm? Can be a fully gsm ?

Thanks. CleanROM runs pretty well for me right now, and I absolutely HATE HATE HATE reromming and setting everything back up. That's one of the reasons I love CM9 so much... I can update and not wipe out everything I've done.
I'll give this a try once it's updated to the newest leak, or whatever version ends up being the final ICS update.

It is senseless, but it has the rosie launcher as an option which I like. Just don't expect much of the sense widgets to be there, most are removed.
This rom definitely deserves more attention. This is with the stock battery. I used wifi basically the whole time but look at that screen time!!

my advice is do the same thing i did and that is get familiar with the stock rom first and enjoy your brand new phone. tweaking all settings so as to see what the stock rom can really do at full potential. so that later you can really see the difference and improvements of those custom roms once you have them.
i still have my HOX im a great fan of "baadnewz" for his great dedication and being sharing to the community... Leedriod no doubt is also a great Dev along with Mike...
Anyway, welcome to Sammy's world... We also have lots of good Devs here. Indie, Wanam, raffaele88 being always on my list but most of the time im with Leomar and Pongster...
Gokhan is great, as well as Franco (im with his R10 in my HOX) ...
Anyway, all Devs has its own priorities, some focuses on stabilty, while others on performance and in themeing... Feel free to choose from numbers of ROMs and Kernels...

I personally would prefer theme like sense 4 or webOS.. Big fan of matte colors etc.. I don't like aosp ics look so much.. But is has been growing on me lately.. I like consistency but it's pretty tiresome that every app is designed black and blue to fit ics.. Prefer much more like twitter app and xda app.. Same with wp7 where everywhere you go everything looks and works the same way

I don't normally write.but it needs to be said, I ran a rooted stock ROM for about a week. Then tried the lightened Rom's and the more stock type ROM's. Tried the Franco and Siyah kernels but couldn't get past the .SD card problems. Eventually I went back to my original ROM LE8 ....then rooted it. And now everything works, speed and battery again back to the high levels I thought I would never achieve again.

My upgrade date isn't until January 25th. I'm really hoping some headway is made on this before then. I'm sure a lot of people, myself included would be very inclined to make a nice donation to anybody willing to work on this! The AT&T group seems to have made a TON of progress on this, so maybe some collaboration could be done with them to port a "final" build over once they iron out the kinks?
I ported miui to the sprint galaxy note 2 CDMA and if you guys want to use that as a base to port over I don't mind ..so far everything is working on the build ..you can look at the sprint thread and its miui on stock base with working multi Window n s pen features

cant wait for this
That's awesome. Since I've moved over to Samsung I've been enjoying jb touch wiz and haven't really missed miui. It had that appeal to me because it looked and somewhat performed like ios but now I think tw is far more superior in performance and cosmetics than ios/miui. I'm really liking the one handed operation that tw offers. I'm not sure that miui offers that.

I cant wait to see MIUI on this badass phone. It seems to have a hell of a lot less problems that the S3 so maybe that means MIUI wont be as difficult to debug. Either way, buggy or not, I cannot wait to see this. And Beans is a freaking AMAZING dev

yes,you can flash
MIUI Home
If you flash the MIUI Home zip will you then have the option of choosing between it and your stock home? Or does something else have to be flashed for that to happen?
